By midnight, they ended their dinner and proceeded to leave.
As the others drove off, Ayla and Silas headed toward his car.
"Silas! Mrs. Simmons! Please wait up!" Just they reached it, a familiar voice called out to them and they turned to see Elena returning with takeout bags.
Ayla leaned on the car, her brows arched in surprise while Silas walked forward to meet her.
It had taken Elena at least three seconds to run from the restaurant to where they stood, yet she dramatically spent the next ten seconds trying to catch her breath.
Glancing behind Ayla with his brows slightly furrowed, Silas returned his attention to her and asked in surprise, "Elena, did we forget anything?"
