Chapter 248 - Chapter 248: Cell Attacks

After the two shook hands, Xeno patrolman returned to the Supreme Kai of Time and stood quietly with his hands at his sides.

Xeno patrolman was convinced by his defeat. After Raditz had left last time, he had doubled his training and his strength had improved considerably. But in front of this new recruit, he had no power to fight back.

What was both infuriating and amusing was that Trunks had only used one finger.

The difference was like heaven and earth.

There was a slight wry smile at the corner of Xeno Patrolman's mouth.

Raditz actually admired Xeno Patrolman greatly. Before battle, he wasn't rash or impetuous, and he could concede defeat graciously when he lost—very straightforward.

So Raditz said comfortingly, "It's normal to lose to Trunks. After all, he's also a Super Saiyan. But don't be discouraged—you've improved a lot since I last met you. As long as you train properly, you'll definitely become stronger."

"In order to deal with the Demon Realm enemies that may appear in the future, I will work hard," Xeno Patrolman nodded firmly.

The threat of the Demon Realm was drawing closer and closer. After the Bardock incident last time, Xeno Patrolman was deeply aware of the Demon Realm's terror. That demon had just been a pawn they used to change the timeline, and the masterminds behind it couldn't even be glimpsed.

The most terrifying enemy was an invisible one.

One day in the future, the Demon Realm would attack openly. If he didn't have sufficient strength, how could he protect spacetime?

His request for Trunks to guide his training also stemmed from this concern.

"That's right, you should work hard too," Chronoa said. Having gained another capable assistant, she was in a good mood. "Trunks, you can stay here from now on. There are some small missions for you to handle."

"Am I going to perform missions now?" Trunks pointed at himself, very surprised.

"That's right, even as a probationary member."

"But there's still the android crisis in my world. I have to go back and save the future."

Maintaining spacetime was certainly something Trunks was willing to do, but one of his purposes in traveling through time was to obtain stronger power to save his future. His mother and others were still waiting for him.

Chronoa walked along the stone path, pacing back and forth a few steps, her high heels clicking on the ground. She thought for a while, then spread her hands and said, "Alright, but you must remember not to use the time machine after you return. The dangers of time travel are likely to be buried in careless details."

Trunks said happily, "Thank you, Supreme Kai of Time!"

He bowed deeply, showing great respect to the Supreme Kai of Time. In contrast, Raditz's attitude was much more casual—he just waved his hand lightly, making Chronoa pout and complain that Raditz wasn't polite enough.

Xeno Patrolman was inexplicably amused and grinned as well.

After a while, Chronoa completed all the formalities for Trunks and asked Xeno Patrolman to take him to the plaza and explain the glorious history of Toki Toki City. Raditz hadn't appreciated the sights of this place during his last visit, so he followed Xeno Patrolman around the Time Capital.

At the same time, Androids 17 and 16 on Earth had finished their Ludo game and went out for a drive. Android 17's driving skills still hadn't improved, and he was racing recklessly through the sky. There weren't many vehicles in the wilderness, making it suitable for his racing.

"How about it, Android 16? Have you noticed my skills are better?" He was driving a convertible flying car, and as he accelerated, cool wind whistled past his ears, blowing his black hair behind him.

He enjoyed the feeling of driving. Although the speed was far less than his own flight capability, it was full of excitement.

Android 16 sat quietly. No matter how sharply Android 17 turned, he remained in the same posture, as if embedded in the seat. Hearing Android 17's question, he said slowly, "No change."

"Really boring," Android 17 said, placing one hand on the car door and leaning his head out to look at the distant scenery.

Verdant forests stood on several natural wilderness islands. From time to time, birds chirped on the turquoise hills, along with the sounds of dinosaurs running wild and the roars of beasts echoing from deep valleys. Android 16 loved these natural scenes. His expression softened, his face became gentle, and a smile appeared at the corner of his normally stiff mouth.

Android 17 was also attracted by the colorful scenery under the sunlight, his eyes tracing back to the far-reaching sky, almost losing control of the steering wheel.

"Hey, aren't you supposed to deal with Goku?" Suddenly, Android 17 caught a glimpse of the big man's happy, silent smile and asked about the doubt in his heart.

"Hmm?"

"You're different from us. You're purely mechanical. You should be unable to resist Dr. Gero's orders, right?"

Android 16 shook his head. "I have the ability to think independently. When an order cannot be achieved, I choose a better way to handle the situation."

"So that's how it is. Hey, do you want to go to the nature preserve with me..."

"Wait!" Android 16 suddenly withdrew his gaze, looking extremely serious.

He cut off Android 17's words, startling Android 17, who slammed on the brakes. The flying car had originally been planning to pass through the mountains. When he hit the brakes in panic, Android 17 turned the steering wheel, and the car rushed toward the mountainside.

BOOM!

The car hit the mountain, and Androids 16 and 17 jumped out in time, landing on the ground.

"Hey, I have to pay for that car! Android 16, why are you scaring me!"

Android 17 turned to look at Android 16 and was taken aback again. Android 16's face was terribly serious, as if he had encountered some crisis.

"Something is coming."

"What?"

"I don't know. I don't have his information in my database. But it's evil and unfathomable." Android 16 paused with a stern expression and suddenly issued a warning: "Android 17, this thing's strength is above yours!"

"Why do people keep surpassing me! Besides those people like Raditz, who else could be stronger than me?!" Android 17 placed one hand on a tree trunk, half-leaning against it. "Android 16, did you make a mistake this time?"

He couldn't believe it. That Raditz and other Saiyans had surpassed him was already shocking enough. How could anyone else have the power to exceed his?

Well... Android 16 barely counted as one.

But he was somewhat convinced, because Android 16's detection had never been wrong, and his warnings about Raditz and the others had been extremely accurate.

"He's heading this way—maybe the target is you!" Android 16 suddenly shouted. "They once mentioned a monster called Cell. That thing's purpose is to absorb the life essence of you and Android 18!"

Android 17 was stunned. He remembered that Android 18 and Zangya had explained everything about Cell when they returned. But Cell had been destroyed—how could it appear again?

Something had to be wrong.

"What should we do now?" Android 17 panicked. He didn't know how Cell had found him, but it seemed a crisis was imminent.

Android 16 stood in front of him. "You go first. If what Raditz said is true, Cell will be a major disaster and must be eliminated. I'll hold him off and contact the others on Earth."

"You..."

"Run! Find Goku!"

Android 17 gritted his teeth and flew off in another direction without hesitation. Android 16 rushed toward Cell's direction, separating himself from Android 17's flight path.

In the distance, Cell's spotted green eyes lit up. "Well, well... Android 16."
