In space, King Cold gazed at the vast starfield through the porthole, spaceships around him as dense as a forest. He was feeling nostalgic - how many years had it been since he'd last deployed so many forces? It had been so long he couldn't even remember.
Along the way, he and Frieza had destroyed many planets, purely for show and entertainment. It was laughable that some blind Galactic Patrolmen had come to cause trouble for them - they'd all been killed.
When they were about to arrive, Frieza couldn't wait and had rushed ahead, but King Cold hadn't stopped him. He knew what Frieza was up to - nothing more than showing off his strength while not giving Cooler any opportunities. King Cold was also aware of Cooler's plan, but he was powerful and didn't care at all. Let Cooler conserve his strength - what could he possibly accomplish in the end?
A father was still a father, after all.
Both Frieza and Cooler are his descendant. They shared the same genes and inherited his excellent abilities, but had mutated and developed differently. No matter how powerful these two became, they couldn't escape his control.
King Cold rested his head on his hand as the M187 branch appeared in his view. There were also damaged spaceships floating in space with their emblems carved on them. Besides the warships, many corpses were floating around - obviously his people as well.
"What's going on? Are the losses this heavy, Frieza?" Seeing so many damaged ships, King Cold frowned, feeling dissatisfied with his son.
Use your strength to fight back properly - don't make your father look bad. Did he really need to lose so many warships attacking a small planet?
"Check the combat power data on this planet for me!" King Cold suddenly felt inexplicably uneasy, straightening up in his seat.
"Yes sir!"
His subordinates immediately went to fetch the most advanced scouter, running about frantically.
"Reporting to the king, beginning scan! Combat power... bat-battle power..." Halfway through speaking, the man suddenly stumbled over his words. The constantly fluctuating numbers on the screen made him suspect the instrument was malfunctioning!
"What's wrong? Continue!" King Cold shouted.
"Y-Yes! There are over twenty combat power readings above 50,000 on the planet, and one... one combat power higher than King Frieza's!"
The last sentence was almost screamed, and the man immediately fell to his knees after speaking, sweat dripping down.
King Cold shot to his feet, his eyes ice-cold. "What?!"
Someone stronger than Frieza? Besides the Frost Demon clan, did such a person really exist? Could his worries be coming true - had the legendary warrior Super Saiyan been born?
"Beep beep beep—"
Suddenly the scouter flashed again.
"There's another energy reading, this time..." The speaker suddenly choked mid-sentence.
His trembling voice reached King Cold's ears: "It's an even bigger reaction - another battle power surpassing King Frieza!!!"
"Full speed ahead! Stop the ship outside the planet - I'll destroy it directly!"
"But King Frieza..."
King Cold's eyes flashed coldly: "Frieza can survive in space, but Saiyans can't. I won't be as careless as Frieza. If they really are Super Saiyans, I'll kill them too! Hehe..."
The surrounding aliens immediately understood his intention and waved to relay the order. The flagship suddenly moved forward at maximum speed, getting closer and closer to the M187 branch.
...
The thunderous rumbling shook the world. Almost half the aliens had been swept away, with those who'd escaped and those too cowardly to fight greatly reducing their combat effectiveness.
On the Galactic Justice League's side, there were very few casualties, and even the planet wasn't much damaged.
The enemy's mastermind, Frieza, had also been suppressed by Prince Vegeta - they'd won!
But no one showed happy expressions, because behind Frieza stood King Cold, and this was just the first battle.
"Lord Raditz, the command center sent word - there's a powerful energy approaching us. And..." Angila urgently reported the situation.
"What else?"
"A spaceship bypassed our defenses and is approaching Earth. Its trajectory was detected at a monitoring station on the Moon."
"What? Bypassing our defense line to go to Earth?!" Raditz's expression darkened as he suddenly frowned. "Is it Cooler? I didn't expect him to be involved." Raditz looked at the sky, sensing an unusual aura heading toward Earth - more sinister and powerful than Frieza's.
King Cold was coming, and Cooler was heading straight for Earth. Damn! They were smart, knowing to divide their forces and overwhelm their enemies.
Clenching his fists until his knuckles cracked, Raditz's expression grew grim.
His blood surged and heart pounded violently with no way to calm down. The enemy's attack was swift and fierce - under this assault, how should he choose?
"How long until King Cold's army arrives?"
"At most... at most 2 minutes."
"Two minutes? How far is Cooler's ship from Earth?"
"It's passed the Moon and will land on Earth soon."
Great - one in 2 minutes, one very soon. They were synchronized.
Raditz thought for a moment, then ordered: "Tarble, Jeice, Burter, Angila - you continue cleaning up this trash. I'm going to intercept King Cold!"
"King Cold? But Frieza..."
"Leaving him to Vegeta is enough. Right now Frieza has no power to fight back."
Having said that, he couldn't help but glance at the sky.
As Raditz expected, Vegeta was beating Frieza one-sidedly. Every punch and kick hit Frieza squarely, leaving him no room for comeback. Vegeta was fully venting his transformed power, settling both new and old grudges with Frieza.
Frieza must be extremely regretful now.
"Raditz... I'll go with you. I've gotten much stronger too." Zangya ran out from behind and grabbed Raditz's clothes, her smooth face full of worry, delicate eyebrows knitted together.
Zangya now worked as Raditz's secretary, and their relationship was growing closer. Seeing Raditz taking such risks, anxiety filled her heart.
Seeing the determined look in Zangya's eyes, Raditz still shook his head. "It's more convenient for me alone than with two people. King Cold is a formidable opponent - you're better off not meeting him."
"I can handle the other aliens."
"Be good - I'll worry if you come."
Zangya also knew she might become a burden, so she lowered her head. "Then... then please be more careful."
"Make sure to come back in one piece."
Raditz smiled back, placing his fingers to his forehead.
