Wasn't it easy to kill someone trapped like a caged animal? But the moment his blade struck, the old man realized his mistake. His sword didn't pierce flesh—instead, he felt the hollow sensation of stabbing empty ground with a sharp scraping sound.
Raditz was gone.
The next second, Raditz appeared behind him, a hand blade already positioned at his neck. "Thank you for telling me the truth. It'll be much easier to solve this problem now."
The old man shuddered, staring at the empty energy net before him. His face turned ugly as a chill shot down his spine, leaving him speechless.
Impossible! Raditz had clearly been imprisoned—how could he still move?!
"Tell me the location of the Demon Star, and I can spare you. Otherwise, you'll die, and if you die, you'll have nothing." Raditz's hand pressed against the back of the old man's neck, energy flowing through muscle and bone, making the old man feel cold all over.
But he still refused to yield. "It's useless to kill me. As long as Zangya exists, our people have hope! This planet will soon become our new home!"
What was the difference between invading other planets for his people's benefit and those villains who had enslaved and invaded them? The old man was lost in desperation, thinking obsessively about his grand cause of revival.
Raditz looked at him with a sense of pity.
They were pitiable people, after all. But such pitifulness often became pathetic. The power sought for revenge and revival was ultimately used to bully other innocent peoples.
Raditz remembered a saying: "When angry, the brave draw their blade toward the strong; the cowardly draw their blade toward the weak."
Unfortunately, Zangya had been reduced to a coward's weapon.
"You don't even understand what you've done. This isn't just about your family anymore—it's a disaster for the entire West Galaxy. If you won't talk, I'll have to find it myself after I eliminate you." Raditz made one final attempt at persuasion.
"Too bad you're no match for Zangya!"
"Can't you see I was holding back? If I hadn't lost on purpose, how could you have told me the whole story? Zangya is indeed strong, but she's still far from enough."
"Hmph! Bluffing!"
The old man clenched his fists and gave Zangya a meaningful look. Though he possessed powerful magic, he had no combat ability. In this situation, he still needed Zangya's power.
A secret signal had been established between them. The moment she received the old man's gaze, Zangya acted immediately. Her ice-blue eyes fixed on Raditz as she charged at full speed.
Simultaneously, the old man's previously dim eyes lit up as he let out a cry.
He pulled back his hand and shot out the energy restraint net with five fingers, trying to capture Raditz again, while Zangya released an energy blast at the perfect moment, flying toward Raditz like a dragon.
"HAH!" Raditz suddenly erupted with power.
A red heat wave rose from the ground and burst forth violently. All at once, bright light appeared on the dim planet, like a second red sun!
The dazzling, gorgeous flames shocked the demons and excited the Saiyans!
Vegeta looked at Raditz coldly and snorted with disdain. "You bastard, you left me here to deal with small fry while you ran off to fight the strong ones." He casually obliterated a demon warrior who had intended to attack him.
Raditz was unaware of Vegeta's thoughts, as he was completely focused on facing the dual assault. In an instant, his psychic power formed an energy wall that resisted the magical attack, defending against the old man's strike. At the same time, he grabbed Zangya's energy blast!
Like holding a piece of bread, Raditz grasped the orb of light with one hand! With a "pop," the energy bomb was crushed into flying fragments of light!
Zangya was stunned!
"This person..." Suddenly, a shadow appeared in her mind—a fragment of memory.
After the Demon Star's arrival, Zangya's awakened demonic consciousness had gained the upper hand, granting her tremendous power while also covering her original memories and spirit. Only the thoughts her clan had been instilling remained unobliterated.
Using hypnosis and other methods, the old man had turned Zangya into his tool, absolutely forbidding her to have independent consciousness.
Raditz's strength brought back a warm figure from her memory, and Zangya was momentarily stunned.
"Zangya, what are you doing? Keep attacking! We're only one step away from our goal!" The old man yelled hoarsely, continuously releasing energy nets to slow Raditz's movements.
The power of the psychic wall exceeded the old man's magic. Not only did the energy net fail, but it was pushed back!
Though all efforts were in vain, the old man persevered. His eyes filled with desperate tears, his voice hoarse and strained, like sand mixed with thick liquid in his throat. "Zangya... please!"
Finally, Zangya was roused, still remembering her mission! To accomplish this, she had to defeat the obstacle that was Raditz.
The revived Zangya shot toward Raditz like a sharp sword, moving at astonishing speed.
Hope rekindled in the old man's eyes, his orange hair fluttering in the air like a beacon of hope!
"Ugh!"
Hope came quickly and departed just as fast.
Zangya's flying form took an elbow strike from Raditz and flew backward at even greater speed. With just one blow, the battle was over.
The old man's heart turned cold, his face suddenly becoming gray and haggard. So Raditz hadn't been bluffing after all...
He turned to flee when a cold voice asked, "Where do you think you're going?" Vegeta appeared behind him, grabbing his orange hair.
"My... my people... ugh..." The old man spat out a mouthful of blood in anguish.
Raditz landed on the ground holding the unconscious Zangya. "Actually, your nature isn't evil—you just want to survive well, right? I'll find a suitable planet for you to live on and ensure your peaceful development. Tell me where the Demon Star is."
The old man's eyes became vacant and lifeless.
Yes, he had originally simply wanted to make life better for his people! Wasn't everything for this purpose?
Suddenly, the old man's blood rushed to his head.
"Guh... Pffft! Wahhh..." The old man's mouth suddenly opened, releasing a series of terrifying sounds. His eyeballs exploded suddenly, blood mist filling the air, and then his entire body convulsed and swelled like a balloon!
Vegeta quickly retreated, his expression changing drastically.
"What's happening here? Such intense energy!" Raditz also backed away, his heart pounding violently.
The old man's body exploded, forming a deep purple vortex that opened in the void like an endless black hole! Demonic energy spread from the vortex as bone-chilling winds and evil power poured forth, blanketing the sky.
