Chapter 2 - 2: Otsutsuki Toneri's Talent

As a transmigrator, Izayoi's narrative level was far above that of anyone else on this planet.

A thousand years had passed, and most people now believed that the Sage of Six Paths and Ninshū were nothing more than mythical figures and fictional legends.

But Izayoi knew the truth—they were real.

He also knew that the Sage of Six Paths had a mother, and a younger brother.

After the two brothers sealed away their mother, the Sage of Six Paths became the Jinchūriki of the Ten-Tails and embarked on a journey of atonement.

Ōtsutsuki Hamura, on the other hand, took a different path—he married, had concubines, and expanded the clan through his descendants.

Once the Sage of Six Paths was no longer the Ten-Tails Jinchūriki, he placed the Gedo Statue on the moon.

To guard the Gedo Statue, Hamura led a portion of the Ōtsutsuki clan to migrate to the moon.

The branch of the clan that remained on Earth gradually evolved, over the span of a millennium, into the Hyūga Clan.

Just as the Sage of Six Paths wielded the ultimate eye technique—the Rinnegan—his two sons, when their powers were reunited, had the potential to awaken the Rinnegan.

Ōtsutsuki Hamura also had an ultimate eye technique: the Tenseigan, which possessed the power to create and destroy worlds.

His descendants, given the right conditions—similar to the concept of "polar opposites uniting"—also had the potential to awaken the Tenseigan.

Unlike the Rinnegan, which was incredibly difficult to obtain, the Tenseigan had a secret method—

fusing a large number of Byakugan to trigger its evolution.

This very method led to the extinction of the Ōtsutsuki clan on the moon.

Now, the only one left on the moon should be Ōtsutsuki Toneri.

When Izayoi was three years old, he had a sudden flash of inspiration.

That's when he temporarily abandoned his plan to copy Naruto's or Sasuke's talent keywords—because he thought of Ōtsutsuki Toneri.

As a descendant of the moon's branch family of the Ōtsutsuki,

Toneri possessed pure Ōtsutsuki bloodline—a throwback to the likes of Ōtsutsuki Ashura and Ōtsutsuki Hagoromo.

That level of purity granted Toneri a natural body like the Sage's.

While Uchiha Madara only awakened the Rinnegan after fusing Senju Hashirama's cells and then waiting until the end of his life…

Ōtsutsuki Toneri awakened the Tenseigan in just a few days.

The moment it awakened, he could enter Tenseigan Chakra Mode, form Truth-Seeking Orbs, and unleash techniques like Silver Wheel Reincarnation Explosion and the Golden Wheel Reincarnation Explosion—which could even cleave the moon in half.

His innate talent and chakra reserves were even more astonishing than Naruto Uzumaki or Sasuke Uchiha.

If he had descended to Earth to live, he would be the ultimate cheat character.

And if he brought the giant Tenseigan (used as a medium) with him, then unless Madara and Hashirama were resurrected, or the Sage of Six Paths personally intervened, the entire ninja world would be at his mercy.

If he had been a bit more ruthless, and stolen Hinata's or Hanabi's Byakugan early,

then there would be no "Shippuden"—only Toneri's Legend.

Unfortunately, Ōtsutsuki Toneri was just a chūnibyō shut-in.

Unless he came of age or the ninja world truly became hopeless, he wouldn't descend from the moon.

But Izayoi knew one more thing—

Toneri had once come to Earth as a child, before his father passed away.

During that visit to Konoha,

he secretly used the giant Tenseigan to see Hinata just once.

And in that brief encounter, he fell in love at first sight—

but never interfered with Hinata's life.

Instead, he clung to an ancient promise, planning to descend when he came of age and propose marriage.

What he never expected was that his "fiancée" already had someone she liked.

His affection was entirely one-sided.

Izayoi had no particular opinion about this silly, hopelessly romantic shut-in.

But based on the clues, he guessed that Toneri came to Earth when Hinata was three years old.

Because shortly after her third birthday, Hiashi's twin brother died in her place, which subtly changed Hinata's standing within the Hyūga clan.

Afterward, Hinata's personality only deepened Hiashi Hyūga's disappointment in his eldest daughter.

Hinata's most extravagant birthday celebration was when she turned three.

So, Izayoi decided to take a gamble.

He chose to use his only talent keyword duplication on Ōtsutsuki Toneri.

There would be plenty of opportunities to acquire talent keywords from Naruto Uzumaki and Sasuke Uchiha in the future.

But for Toneri, there would be only one chance. If he missed it, he'd have to wait two whole years after Shippuden ends to try again.

The information now shown on his light screen proved that Izayoi had gambled correctly.

He hadn't just wandered near the Hyūga clan's estate on Hinata's third birthday, but had spent that entire year aimlessly roaming around.

Appearances can be deceiving, but talent keywords never lie.

As long as Izayoi could see the bubbles on a person, it didn't matter what kind of disguise Toneri or his father wore—unless they were puppets or invisible, they couldn't escape Izayoi's eyes.

Heaven rewards the diligent. Thanks to Izayoi's effort and caution,

he finally spotted Toneri and his father—disguised as blind men—

in a crowd on Hinata's third birthday, which also happened to be the day the Kumogakure delegation arrived in Konoha.

Frankly, the Kumo delegation got extremely lucky.

If that father and son had stayed until nightfall—and had even considered kidnapping Hinata—

they'd have been done for.

However, the two did not attend the public celebration.

Instead, they used the giant Tenseigan as a medium to watch Hinata from afar,

as she celebrated privately within the clan. Then, they quietly left Konoha.

Toneri, who was born without eyes,

did not have the talent keyword Bloodline Limit: Byakugan.

Nor did he have any low-level keywords.

He had only one bubble—but it was an incredibly high-tier red keyword:

> Otsutsuki Bloodline

Izayoi had seen the same keyword on other members of the Hyūga clan—

but their version only went up to blue in color.

Even Toneri's father had only a purple version of the Ōtsutsuki Bloodline keyword—

not even gold, let alone red.

Only Ōtsutsuki Toneri had a version that surpassed gold—

a red keyword, the highest rank Izayoi had seen so far.

Izayoi didn't hesitate for a second. He immediately duplicated the keyword.

From that point on, for the next three years, Izayoi began rewriting his fate.

After extracting chakra for the first time, his original keyword,

> Chūnin Aptitude (Green),

upgraded to

Kage-Level Aptitude (Gold).

As the name implies, as long as he didn't die prematurely,

Izayoi was guaranteed to become someone on the level of Hashirama Senju or Madara Uchiha.

If he ever transplanted the Byakugan from Hinata or Hanabi,

then formed Truth-Seeking Orbs, he would reach the Six Paths tier.

A few months later, Izayoi unlocked another keyword:

> All-Attribute Constitution (Purple).

It turned out that Izayoi had the same rare chakra nature compatibility as

Tobirama Senju, Hiruzen Sarutobi, Orochimaru, and Kakashi Hatake.

At age five, Izayoi unlocked yet another talent keyword.

And that one scared the hell out of him.

Because…

> He awakened the Byakugan!

Yes—awakened it.

Not like a Hyūga, whose eyes are always white,

but like someone transforming into a Byakugan user.

Under the influence of the Ōtsutsuki Bloodline, Izayoi's eyes were normally ordinary—just like Himawari Uzumaki's.

But when he activated the Byakugan, his temples bulged with chakra veins, and his irises turned white.

This discovery gave Izayoi great relief.

Otherwise, he might have had to wear sunglasses all the time,

or go buy some colored contact lenses like Kakashi did in his "reporter disguise" in the original story.
