Chapter 186 - Chapter 186: The Reporter.

Fish-Man Island Finally Reaches the Surface

Bright sunlight bathed the island for the first time in centuries. Tears flowed from the eyes of fish-men and merfolk who had lived their whole lives in the depths. Now, for the first time, they saw the sun in person.

Then, a voice rang out.

"Admiral Purple Kirin!"

It was as if someone had lit a fuse. In the next moment, Fish-Man Island erupted in cheers, voices overlapping in a cacophony of joy and excitement.

King Neptune didn't feel out of place—he was shouting right along with them. Jinbe, always composed, was practically dancing. Even the shy Shirahoshi couldn't hide her excitement as she placed both hands over her chest, eyes locked on Chiga standing at her side. To her, he glowed with brilliance.

Without hesitation, Shirahoshi joined the crowd in calling his name—even though he was just beside her.

Chiga stood tall amid the roaring cheers, sunlight shining off the 'Justice' coat on his back. He smiled warmly, that same sun-like smile he always wore when his people celebrated. Slowly, his body began to rise.

He floated above the island, at its very center. The long, white coat flapped majestically behind him, making his presence feel even more godlike.

Below, Madame Shirley gazed upward, stunned. What she saw in the sky matched her prophecy perfectly—her vision had come true.

Chiga had truly brought Fish-Man Island to the surface. A new era was dawning.

He looked down on the masses below. It reminded him of the day he became an Admiral. That same electricity in the air. The awe. The reverence. He liked it.

With a wave of his arm, Weevil, now a Puppet, descended from above.

Gasps rippled through the crowd at the sight of the monstrous being. His twisted form looked like something out of a nightmare.

Jinbe stared in disbelief. He had heard of Weevil from Whitebeard himself—never in flattering terms, but the old man had acknowledged his strength. And Jinbe was sure Weevil had died by Chiga's hand. Seeing him now was like seeing a ghost.

Chiga's eyes locked onto a human below, holding up a Den Den Mushi. One of the many reporters scattered throughout the world, always appearing at the perfect time, regardless of danger.

He admired their persistence. From minor disputes to clashes between Emperors, they were always there—resilient, professional, and fearless. Truly committed.

Chiga stretched out a hand.

The reporter, wearing a panda mask and gripping his Den Den Mushi like his life depended on it, was yanked skyward by an invisible force. He screamed in terror, but even midair, never let go of his device.

His thoughts raced. If he got this footage to Big News Morgans, the Berries would pour in like a waterfall. He was already imagining promotions, praise, and maybe even his own office.

But as he floated helplessly before Chiga, the fear returned. Especially when he met the cold, mysterious Rinnegan staring back at him.

He swallowed hard.

"So... this is the pressure of Admiral Purple Kirin?"

Despite the terror, the reporter raised the Den Den Mushi and kept snapping. This close-up chance was once in a lifetime.

Chiga watched him silently for a moment. This guy had guts.

"You're a reporter, right?" he finally asked. "Did you record everything that happened today?"

The reporter flinched. His hands slipped. The Den Den Mushi tumbled from his grip, plummeting toward the island.

"No! My Den Den Mushi!"

But before it could hit the ground—swish!—it was back in his hands.

He stared at it, stunned, then looked at Chiga, eyes wide with gratitude.

"Hold it tighter next time," Chiga warned, smiling. "You won't be so lucky again."

The reporter nodded like his life depended on it.

Chiga's tone shifted.

"What's your name?"

"M-My name is Lilok, Admiral Purple Kirin!"

"You can report what happened today however you like—but make this clear: Fish-Man Island is now under my jurisdiction. Got it?"

A violet glint flickered in his Rinnegan as he spoke.

The reporter paled but nodded eagerly. "Yes, sir! That'll be the headline!"

To him, Chiga was now more precious than gold. He'd put his face on a shrine if he could.

"Good. You can go back."

Chiga lowered him gently back into the crowd.

Kalifa approached. "Boss, who was that?"

"Him? Just a reporter. I told him to spread the word—Fish-Man Island's under my protection now. A warning for the world."

Shirahoshi couldn't contain her joy. She dashed toward Chiga, wrapped her arms around him, and yelled:

"Chiga-sama!"

Chiga staggered under her enthusiasm. "Shirahoshi! You trying to suffocate me?!"
