I woke to the sensation of Kaelen's warm lips trailing along my bare shoulder, his arm tightening around my waist. The early morning sunlight filtered through the windows of our Silverholm quarters, casting everything in a golden glow.
"Good morning, little goddess," he murmured against my skin, his voice still husky from sleep.
I smiled, keeping my eyes closed as I savored the moment. "Mmm, good morning," I replied, stretching like a contented cat. "What time is it?"
"Early enough that we have a few minutes before the chaos begins." His hand slid up my ribcage, thumb brushing the underside of my breast.
Opening my eyes, I turned to face him, drinking in the sight of his sleep-tousled dark hair and piercing green eyes. Even first thing in the morning, he took my breath away.
"Ready for the summit?" I asked, reaching up to trace his jawline.
Kaelen caught my hand, pressing a kiss to my palm. "As ready as I'll ever be. But I'd rather stay right here with you."
