Darkness surrounded me as I called Seraphina's name into the void. The dreamscape had shifted from the dissolving forest to... nothing. Complete emptiness. My voice echoed and faded without response, swallowed by the crushing silence.
I had failed to reach her the first time, but I refused to give up. Hours had passed in the real world while I'd frantically tried to reconnect with her mind. Each attempt left me more desperate than the last.
"Seraphina!" I shouted again, pushing every ounce of our bond into the call. "Follow my voice!"
A flicker of something – a ripple in the darkness. I focused on it, willing it to grow stronger. The emptiness around me slowly transformed, light bleeding into the edges of my vision. Trees materialized, their outlines hazy at first, then solidifying into the forest of her dreamscape.
