Chapter 6

 Vanessa's POV

"Haaah" My head hurts as I groan with pains which you can feel on my voice stretching myself up.

I flipped turns at first, feeling more comfortable. I decided to flip the other side but the excruciating pain hit me again but this time I slowly opened my eyes, trying to remember where I was. But everything looks unfamiliar. The room was nice, with dark wood furniture and a big window that let in lots of sunlight.

My eyes met with a guy who sat beside me, all he did was stare at me with piercing eyes.

I blinked my eyes thrice yet I couldn't remember him. I decided to ask him who he was and why I was here but I remembered him now. He was the handsome man who rescued me from the hands of those rogues when I left my pack.

He had saved me from those attackers in the forest, yes it was on his arm I fell into as my eyes closed.

"Welcome back, I am happy you are back to yourself now, I am so glad." he said softly to me, as he spoke I discovered his voice was soft and calm.

Wow he has a nice voice to move with! Not like that hag that called himself my husband.

I tried to sit up, but pain shot down through my body, making me recall how badly I was hit by those rogues.

At a point, I felt fear rang in me and my eyes widened.

What if I am still in the pack? Just what if they thought that maybe , just maybe she was still on her pack! The black moon pack she turned to him with speed and her eyes searching through his.

"Who are you? Where am I? And who sent you to rescue me?" I asked all at a time with my heart beating fast and unable for me to breathe, all I was trying to do was to get answers that I wasn't still on Alexander's pack! No I don't want my eyes to set to his any longer not any more!

I knew my voice sounded strong despite feeling scared, maybe to make him speak faster.

" You have to calm down young lady, Emm actually no one sent me to rescue you."he paused for a while and took a deep breath before he continued. Telling me no one sent him was kinda a relief for me. As I wait impatiently for him to continue.

"You are currently in the Raven pack's territory, and I am Alpha Gerald, the Alpha of the Raven pack" he replied to me with a smile on his face.

I closed my eyes with my hand placed on my chest as I felt I am saved now, I think he understood what I meant as he said; "You're safe now okay?. Don't worry, I am promising no one will hurt you not in this pack." He added as he stood up from where he sat.

Instantly, I turned my gaze around the room again, trying to process everything. I needed to be sure I wasn't missing anything at all, with that I felt a sense of relief.

Back to my feet, the young man was almost done as he had fixed my wounds, and the places where I obtained scratches from the paws of the rogues.

Just the Alpha Gerald, told me to give him a moment as he went out of the room, I felt some insecurity in me.

Could it be because he left with his beta wolf, alone in the room or could it be they planned something together? My heart missed a beat and I felt much uncomfortable but there was absolutely nothing I could do than keep my silence.

"What's your name?" Marcus asked, breaking the silence which has held ever since Gerald left the room.

"Vanessa," I replied, avoiding eye contact with him.I still feel unsecured with each of my mind racing he may want to rape me on this bed now started with questions which I am pet peeve to.

I so much hate replying to questions and it all really leaves me frustrated! I don't know if you are like me but I just get dead to answer questions.

I could sense from the side eyes that he was leaning forward to where I was.

Then his question hit me down like a zone, what is he up to?

"Now tell me, pretty lady, what brought you to our territory before you were rescued?" he asked me. Hearing the question I quickly shifted my gaze at him, I could see his eyes narrowing slightly at me.

I hesitated, unsure how much to tell him, I wasn't fine with him asking me such questions but I had to just reply to the hag.

"I was just passing through, not really was I coming to your pack" I managed to say to him. What if he discovers I was lying could he tell Gerald about it? I was really breathing hard and I am sure I have missed several beats. I was praying silently for no more questions.

Marcus' expression changed as I replied to his question and I could sense maybe he didn't trust my response, if he likes he shouldn't believe what I told him.

And suddenly just as the prayer I rendered was not heard he asked me again another question.

I couldn't even want to answer him,I was getting irritated by his numerous questions and then it all came back to my mind. He may be working for Gerald or why did Gerald leave?

"I don't want to talk about it,and I will be glad if you hold your peace okay!" I said, feeling uneasy with those questions he asked.

He watched his face turn stern from what I responded and I was glad about that at least to have my peace saved!

. "Fine. If you want to leave, you need to follow two rules from our pack!" he said.

 "What rules?" I asked warily.

"First, watch out for rogues and my pack members. They don't like outsiders," he explained. "Second, let Alpha Gerald handle things, or you'll have to face them alone in the pack"

I felt a chill run down my spine. What is this young man up to? Why will Gerald ask him to interview me?

"Why are you doing this? From question interview to the rule of the pack" I asked.

His eyes seemed to cloud over. "It's just how things are done here," he said. "My grandfather's mistakes taught us to be cautious."

I nodded, understanding. "I'll leave tomorrow," I said.

He stood up, his expression unreadable. "Very well, hope your wolf is strong enough to fight both the rogues and the pack Omegas? I will leave now" he said.

As he left, I felt uneasy. What had I gotten myself into? How do I face those wolves when I had no string of power in me.

I know this is my end but what if? I just don't know.
