Chapter 18 - BD18

Chapter 18: Rejected Duel

The afternoon's flying class passed quickly with Ivan struggling. Fortunately, everything went well and Ivan became the first student to complete the flight training.

Ivan also took special care of Malfoy, carefully reminding him to be careful when flying and never fall from the sky again.

Madam Hooch, who was far away, saw Ivan's performance and her opinion of him improved a little.

The young wizards from Gryffindor and Slytherin have never gotten along with each other. In her opinion, it was rare for Ivan to put aside his prejudice and care so much about Malfoy.

Malfoy was so angry that he threatened to perform a difficult flying maneuver to prove his skills. Unfortunately, he was stopped by Madam Hooch before he could finish his words.

After all, Malfoy had fallen before, so Madam Hooch was still a little worried that he might meet with an accident, and she even didn't allow Malfoy to fly on his broomstick again in this class.

[Ding, the flight class is over. The overall evaluation of this class is: ExcellentReviewer: Rolanda HoochReward: Academic points × 10]

Ivan, strolling in the corridor, finally breathed a sigh of relief when he saw the final evaluation of the class. Even with the mischievous Malfoy causing trouble, he still achieved his expected goal.

In contrast, Ron and Hermione were not in a good mood. They were both worried about Harry who was taken away by Professor McGonagall.

Especially Hermione, who was still angry until now. As soon as the class was over, she couldn't help but run to Ivan and talk incessantly.

"I think we should tell Professor McGonagall and Madam Hooch the truth! Otherwise, what if Harry is expelled?"

Ivan stopped and looked at Hermione.

"No, Professor McGonagall won't expel Harry for such a small matter. Maybe it's because Harry flew well just now, so Professor McGonagall plans to let Harry join the Quidditch team."

"To join the Quidditch team, you have to be at least a second-year student!" Hermione corrected Ivan's mistake.

"There are always exceptions. Not every young wizard can fly as well as Harry when he first starts learning," Ivan said with a smile.

Hermione thought about it and it seemed possible. Ron's eyes lit up and he discussed with the two the possibility of Harry joining the Quidditch team. If Harry could join, Ron felt that he should be able to do so too...

By the time the trio arrived at the Great Hall to have dinner, Harry was already sitting there. Before they even went over, Harry came up to them and couldn't wait to tell them that Professor McGonagall had asked him to be a Seeker.

Even though Ivan had warned the two of them in advance, they were still very surprised, especially Ron, who was extremely excited.

"Harry, I didn't expect you to actually join the Quidditch team. You may be the youngest Seeker in the history of Hogwarts! I mean, are they still short of manpower? For example, a Beater or a Keeper or something?" Ron looked at Harry expectantly, hoping to hear some good news.

"No, I heard from Wood that we have enough manpower." Harry shook his head awkwardly. He didn't understand why Ron was so excited. He had only heard about the Quidditch match today and still had no idea what it was all about.

"By the way, Ivan, what happened in the flying class today?" Harry turned and looked at Ivan depressedly.

"Didn't Malfoy take Neville's crystal ball? And then I chased him? When did it become us training with Malfoy?"

When Professor McGonagall took him away, Harry was almost scared. He even thought he was going to be expelled from Hogwarts and return to the dirty and cramped cupboard in his uncle's house. Fortunately, the situation wasn't as bad as he imagined.

Ivan had no intention of hiding anything and told everyone how he had used the Body-Bind Curse to attack Malfoy, causing him to make a big fool of himself.

"If I expose Malfoy again, I'll have to go into detention with him. He's learned his lesson enough anyway, hasn't he?" Ivan spread his hands.

Ron also exaggerated the incident in the flying lesson where Malfoy was restricted from flying by Ivan. Harry's depression was immediately swept away and he burst into laughter.

Only Hermione was still a little concerned about everyone's violation of school rules. Seeing Ivan and the others chatting happily, she turned around and left angrily.

Ivan thought about it and decided not to try to persuade her to stay. He thought Hermione needed to change her temper.

Of course, it's not that following the rules is bad, but sometimes it seems too rigid to completely confine yourself to these rules and regulations without leaving any room for maneuver.

Just like in the original book, Malfoy, who caused trouble in the flying class, received basically no punishment.

Of course, it was just Harry's bad luck that Professor McGonagall didn't give him a chance to explain. But even if Harry explained the reason clearly, Professor McGonagall would probably just deduct points from both of them and that would be the end of the matter, so Malfoy wouldn't suffer any loss at all.

At least Malfoy is scared now. I believe he won't dare to cause trouble again in the short term.

Unfortunately, the slap in the face came faster than Ivan had imagined. Before Ivan could finish his meal, Malfoy came with Crabbe and Goyle to cause trouble.

Perhaps because he had two followers, Malfoy regained his original arrogant attitude, but when he saw Ivan, he felt a little bit of hatred.

"Potter, are you having your last meal? You will say goodbye here tomorrow and return to your Muggle world, right?" Malfoy mocked loudly.

Ivan and Harry didn't make any move after hearing this; instead, they looked at Malfoy as if he was a fool. Ron was even thinking that if he told them about Harry becoming a Seeker, Malfoy's expression would be very interesting.

Malfoy felt somewhat uneasy at the indifferent attitude of Ivan and others, but he gritted his teeth and said what he had to say.

"Hals, if you have the guts, come to the trophy room tonight. I want to duel with you!"

However, what Malfoy did not expect was that Ivan shook his head firmly.

"No!"

What a joke! He was going to the Restricted Section tonight to receive the reward issued by the system. How could he have the time to play a duel game with Malfoy?

Not to mention that in Ivan's remaining impression, Malfoy was simply planning to stand up this time and then inform Filch to arrest him. He would be a fool to get involved in such a thing.

"Hals, are you scared?" Malfoy sneered.

"I'm not interested in dueling with a defeated opponent. It's such a waste of time." Ivan glanced at Malfoy for a while, looking as if he had no interest in the weakling, and said,

"Come back when you have learned more advanced magic... Otherwise, if you fall down again, no one will save you."
