Chapter 2 - The first dungeon

Cheonghae High School rose like a steel arch above the ruins of the old city. Built on a fault of pure Flux, its architecture combined technology and ancient resonance: memory domes, luminous corridors, suspended arenas. It was the sanctuary of future Players, those who wield cards like weapons, oracles, or pacts.

In the central courtyard, duels echoed. Cards flew, projecting flames, lightning, or semi-ethereal monsters. Each student crafted their deck with the ambition of rising through the ranks... and surviving the real Games.

Sitting alone under the white quartz tree, Ha Neul stared at the sky.

Black hair with midnight blue highlights, an icy calm gaze. His uniform was clean, unadorned. At first glance, he seemed unremarkable. But his silence, his gait, his precision... betrayed a rare inner discipline.

No one knew he was dead.

Not in this timeline, anyway.

He had faced a former comrade who had become a Rank 0 Monster, and failed. He had reached that mythical rank himself, but he lacked only one thing: a card to match. And in his final moments, that golden card had appeared to him... offering him only one choice: start over.

— "Still daydreaming, Ha Neul?"

The voice came from behind.

Nero.

The foreign legend.

Of Italian descent, transferred from a mysterious military academy, he had become the campus sensation. Tall, silver-haired, amber-colored eyes with slitted pupils. An almost feline elegance. He wore his uniform with a calculated nonchalance, as if he had always been destined to shine.

— "The principal wants to see us. Mission in Zone 3. Dungeon active. Brutal discord."

— "Understood." »

Along the way, their silhouettes moved silently, like shadows from a forgotten future. The suspended train carrying them sped above a shattered world: glazed fields, levitating buildings, craters frozen in time. The Great Game had changed everything.

Arriving at their destination, they discovered the dungeon.

A black vortex, pulsing like a sick heart, was opening in the ruins of a collapsed shopping mall. Around it, the very air seemed to groan.

Ha Neul touched his deck. The golden card vibrated faintly.

It hadn't revealed itself yet.

But it was waiting.

"Ready?" asked Nero.

"Always."

They stepped through the portal.

The Game had begun.
