The orchestra played a lively waltz, and the ballroom glittered with movement and color but Lysara didn't feel like dancing, not tonight.

For one, she had drunk a little bit too much wine already and the party hadn't even begun.

So now she stood at the edge of the dance floor, her hands clasped in front of her gown. She had accompanied Giselle to the ball as always and even watched as the queen danced with her mate and then get swept into Lucien's orbit the moment the music began. But for all her sharp-tongued charm, she was still a fly-on-the-wall when it came to socializing in a ball room so she simply lingered by the pillars, watching the nobility swirl past, her keen eyes picking up every whisper, every subtle shift in alliances hidden behind polite smiles.
