Chapter 2 - Chapter 2: The Cuckoo Occupies the Nest, Erasing All Traces

"Bang!"

The main gate was smashed open. Qin Anwu was fine, but another head went flying, hitting the flower garden in the front courtyard heavily. Qin Anwu stepped through the main gate and walked towards the front courtyard.

The person lying on the ground screamed a few times, then pointed at the young man and roared, "Qin Anwu, you idiot! Your parents have been taken, and you're still so arrogant... still so clumsy. Now, my brother-in-law is in charge of the Qin Mansion. If you dare treat me like this, you will definitely be punished!"

The young man, who had already reached this person's side, stopped and turned to look at the fellow lying on the ground.

This was Zhang Fuyuan, the younger brother of his aunt, Zhang Meili. In the past, relying on living in the Qin Mansion, he had committed all sorts of evil in Tanzhou Prefecture and had been severely punished by the Prefect. Originally, he was to be expelled from the Qin Mansion, but after Zhang Meili instigated his uncle, Qin Fang, to intercede, he was not expelled. Since then, he had reined himself in considerably and had always acted deferentially. He never expected that after Qin Zhuan and his wife disappeared, his true colors would be revealed, even barking madly at this young master.

Qin Anwu, your father's judgment wasn't good, and his problem-solving ability wasn't great either.

Seeing Qin Anwu staring at him, Zhang Fuyuan stood up from the flower garden and walked towards the gravel path in the middle, diagonally crossing in front of Qin Anwu, covered in mud. He walked crookedly, the heavy rain washing the mud from his body, leaving a trail of yellow water.

Zhang Fuyuan blocked Qin Anwu's path, pointed at him and yelled, "How dare you kick the door and hit me?! Do you know who's in charge here? My sister, understand? You idiot, don't you know your parents have been taken and will never come back?"

His shouts attracted many servants from the east, west, and front rooms, all with different expressions. Some were nervous, some angry, but these were a minority; most were watching the commotion.

Qin Anwu saw two people sitting in the main hall in the back room: Zhang Meili and Qin Datong.

Zhang Meili, his uncle Qin Fang's wife, was at the Eighth Stage of the Qi Cultivation realm. Qin Datong, his uncle Qin Fang's son, was two years older than Qin Anwu and was at the Sixth Stage of the Qi Cultivation realm. They didn't come out to stop anything; instead, they were cracking melon seeds, watching with smiles on their faces.

Do they want to see me make a fool of myself?

Withdrawing his peripheral vision, Qin Anwu took a step forward, bent his leg, and kicked out with lightning speed.

"Bang!"

Zhang Fuyuan flew more than ten meters, hitting a stone pillar in the front courtyard corridor. He spat out a mouthful of blood.

"Such strong Qi Condensation. It seems that your physical cultivation is not bad either. You're an idiot, but you're strong." Zhang Fuyuan's terrified roar turned into a low, painful moan.

Qin Anwu continued to walk forward, showing no expression in his eyes as he walked past Zhang Fuyuan.

"Anwu, stop! How can you be so clumsy? You can't just fight people in the mansion. Your uncle and aunt have clearly told you that everything in the mansion belongs to them. You are no longer the young master of the Qin Mansion. You should leave the mansion and go live in the back courtyard. Your parents are gone, so your uncle is now the head of the household."

The voice came from behind. Qin Anwu continued walking forward as if he hadn't heard.

A cuckoo occupies the nest. They've really taken over the Qin Mansion now. My uncle and aunt are the ones in charge. What am I? An idiot who has lost his parents, an idiot who is about to be driven out of the mansion?

He walked through the main hall and glanced at the familiar objects in the front and back rooms, all changed beyond recognition. The original simple wooden furniture, the elegant bedding, the plain colors—all gone. They had been replaced by gaudy, brightly colored furniture. The simple wooden stools had been replaced by ornate gold and silver inlaid ones. Even the grooming tools on the dresser had been replaced.

"Where are my parents' things?" he asked, his voice low.

A voice from behind answered, "They've all been thrown away."

Qin Anwu walked into his room, unhooked the sword blank from his back, and placed it on the largest wooden cabinet. Then he opened a small, exquisite jade box.

"This is the jade box my mother bought for your marriage when your parents were still here. She wanted to give it to your future wife. But you're just an idiot now, so you don't need it. I'll take it."

Zhang Meili's voice, full of disdain, came from behind him. Qin Anwu heard her but didn't react. He reached out and removed the jade box from the cabinet.

Zhang Meili's face was distorted with a mixture of delight and greed. She couldn't help but stare at the valuable golden and silver items inside. She reached out and snatched the jade box from Qin Anwu's hand.

"Are there any other books or records in here?" she asked, flipping through a few old books in the wooden cabinet. "Like cultivation techniques, or anything related to your parents' connections? All things that could bring disaster or trouble to the family, all burned!"

Zhang Meili slammed the books back into the cabinet and shouted at Qin Anwu, "You idiot, what are you talking about? Are you trying to make trouble?"

"Aunt, you really don't recognize me, do you?" Qin Anwu raised his voice, a hint of anger in his eyes.

"What are you talking about? Datong, he's lost his mind again!" Zhang Meili screamed in alarm.

"Bang!"

Qin Anwu threw a punch at Zhang Meili, sending her flying through the air and crashing into the wall. She fell to the ground, unconscious.

Qin Datong, who had been sitting calmly watching, was suddenly furious. He threw a punch at Qin Anwu, but Qin Anwu dodged it, sending Qin Datong crashing into the wall. Qin Datong was stunned. He thought he was going to hit Qin Anwu, but Qin Anwu was too fast for him.

"You idiot, how dare you attack me, your cousin?!" Qin Datong roared. "Are you really going to fight me? Do you want to die?"

"This is just a little practice," Qin Anwu said calmly. "I will kill you."

"Crack!"

Qin Anwu grabbed Qin Datong's arm. With a twist, Qin Datong's arm bent at an unnatural angle. A bone-crushing sound echoed through the hall.

"You idiot! What are you doing?!" Qin Datong shrieked in pain. His arm was broken, hanging limply at his side. He wanted to flee, but Qin Anwu's hand held him firmly.

"My parents were taken. You helped them eradicate any trace of their existence. You, my aunt, and uncle, are all accomplices. You will all pay the price for this. I will take everything back."

A cold voice came from the main gate. The servants who were watching the commotion all retreated, not daring to make a sound. There was no one left to object.

Qin Anwu went back to his room. He took out the sword blank from the jade box he had just put away. It looked like a bronze sword, unadorned. It had no sharp edge, but it was three feet long.

"There's still a hint of your parents' aura on this sword blank. It's the only thing they left behind."

Qin Anwu held the sword blank in his hand. He then looked at the wooden cabinet. He touched the cabinet's surface, and with a slight twist, a small mechanism opened up. Inside, there was another small wooden box. He opened it and found a few books.

"These are my parents' cultivation techniques. My mother and father compiled them together. They're all here. They really tried to destroy all traces of their existence."

Qin Anwu picked up the books. He then turned to the large wooden box. He opened it, revealing a small jade bottle. He took out the jade bottle and opened it. Inside, there was a small pill.

"This is the Heavenly Sword Pill. My mother gave it to me when I was five. It's the only pill that can help me to step into the Qi Cultivation realm."

Qin Anwu looked at the pill in his hand. He then closed the wooden box. He put the jade bottle back into the box and put the box back into the wooden cabinet. He closed the mechanism and then put the sword blank back on his back. He then walked out of the room.

"I will definitely avenge my parents' disappearance. Even if it means fighting against the Immortal Emperor, I will not hesitate."

Qin Anwu walked out of the main hall. He looked at Zhang Meili, who was still lying on the ground, unconscious. Qin Datong was still screaming in pain, holding his broken arm.

"Who dares to touch my family?!" A voice roared from outside the main gate. Qin Anwu looked at the voice, his eyes cold.
