[Timer: 00:14:00 (Lvl 2)]
> Reverse: Rewind time without restriction, as long as you have enough time.
Revert: Rewind time on a single target without restriction, as long as you have enough time.
Eternal Monarch Physique (Partial)
Seeing the Level 2 update, Tarkan felt a flicker of excitement.
He expected some kind of powerful new ability, maybe a flashy offensive upgrade
But as he stared at the new "Revert" function discription, disappointment sank in fast.
It just looked like a watered-down version of "Reverse."
He couldn't help but feel let down
It was just another tool to eat away at his already limited timer, and unlike the offensive skill he'd hoped for, this one looked anything but aggressive.
Still, "something" was better than "nothing," he told himself.
Begrudgingly, he decided to test it out and see how he could use it in combat somehow.
"Revert, 2 seconds," he commanded, just like he did with "Reverse."
Nothing happened
Frowning, he checked the timer
[Timer: 00:14:00 (Lvl 2)]
Not even a second had been deducted from it.
"Hmm..." he muttered, and tried it again, Then again Still nothing
Not a flicker of change, not even the faintest tick shaved off the countdown.
Frustrated, he re-read the description again
> Revert: Rewind time on a single target without restriction, as long as you have enough time.
"Oh... so it means I need to focus on something," he realized
His eyes wandered and landed on Slim.
Slim had just finished recounting the events that had unfolded so far, and had gone back to roasting meat over the fire.
He paused mid-roast, sensing a stare piercing into the back of his head
Turning, he saw Tarkan watching him with a smile far too creepy for his comfort making him shift uncomfortably
"Uh.. Sir Tarkan? Do you.. need something?" Slim asked hesitantly.
The question jolted Tarkan from his thoughts. "Oh, No, Nothing"
Still, curiosity gnawed at him
He focused his attention on Slim and gave the command again
"Revert, 2 seconds."
He was sure this time it would work but again, nothing happened
No change in Slim, no shift in the timer.
Tarkan grit his teeth and pulled the display up once more
[Timer: 00:14:00 (Lvl 2)]
"What the hell?" he muttered
"Why isn't it working?"
He scanned the description again. Word for word
> Revert: Rewind time on a single target....
"Target," he thought
"What kind of target? Maybe.. living things don't work?"
That idea bounced around in his head
Maybe "Revert" had a more limited application than "Reverse." He looked around the forest floor until his gaze landed on a dried leaf, curled and dead.
"Alright... let's try you, then."
He fixed his mind on the leaf
"Revert, 2 seconds."
Still nothing
His fist clenched.
He wanted to punch something just to get the irritation out of his system
He crouched and picked up the leaf, frustration all over his face.
From a few feet away, Slim watched with increasing concern
One minute Tarkan had been giving him a deranged grin and now he was squatting in the dirt, whispering to a leaf like a lunatic.
"He's losing it," Slim muttered under his breath. "Probably the stress of the Awakening Trial…"
Tarkan Holding the leaf more carefully, he concentrated his focus
"Revert Two seconds," he commanded clearly
The once-dry dead leaf slowly brightened with color, its veins pulsing faintly before it unfurled and turned green in his fingers fresh and alive, as if it had never fallen
Tarkan froze, stunned
His face morphed to one of horror
He'd only said two seconds, Just two
"What the hell?" he whispered, dropping the leaf like it was on fire
Had he miscalculated? Did he say more than two seconds?
Quickly, he pulled the timer back up
[Timer: 00:13:58 (Lvl 2)]
Only two seconds had been used.
He let out a long breath, his chest filled with relief.
For a second, he'd thought he'd activated something far beyond what he intended
But it seems like revert was just that powerful.
"Revert's... stronger than Reverse," he realized.
He picked up another leaf and tested it.
"Reverse One second."
The leaf instantly brightened with color, its veins pulsing faintly before it unfurled and turned green in his fingers fresh and alive, as if it had never fallen, It reverted to its dry, lifeless state again but not as bright and lively as the first one.
So that was it
Excited now, he kept testing it on other fallen leaves
Each time, the change was consistent.
When he used "Revert," the object returned to a healthier or earlier state more potent than with "Reverse."
He was starting to piece it together now
Reverse affected the world space in general.
But Revert?
Revert targeted The state of a single entity
It didn't just move things back in time, it restored them with little timer use
He figured one seconds use result to a day rewind
A grin crept onto his face, and this time, it wasn't the unsettling kind Slim had seen earlier.
It was the grin of a man who had finally won in life
Tarkan looked at the palm of his hand, thoughts racing
"This... this
