Damn, now he was contemplating whether to absorb or convert this bloodline, it belonged to that stupid bird and frankly he couldn't see how it would increase his strength in any way. Having decided he whispered, convert bloodline.

100 points? That sounds like a lot. He sighed and forgot about upgrading his bloodline for now. He grasped the two blood cores he took out of the beasts.
Even though he was certain both were at the first rank like him their cores were different. The one from the boar had a much darker shade of red, he wasn't sure if this was because of the difference in their bloodline grades.
He knew blood cores contained blood essence which is different from essence blood. Essence blood Is the blood that contains all the make up of the beasts bloodline while blood essence is the energy beasts use to do their magical things or strengthen themselves.
It was also the energy used by bloodline holders. Maybe higher grade bloodlines have purer blood essence, he wasn't sure but he believed he wasn't far off from the truth.
He absorbed the blood essence from the white bellbird first, he felt that cooling and relaxing feeling as the blood essence passed through his arm and travelled across his entire body.
Feeling his body getting stronger in real time was an addictive feeling. He sighed with pleasure then absorbed the second one. It felt denser and overall better.
Before he was even done absorbing the second one he heard a boom inside him. Startled he dropped the blood core. What the hell just happened.
He expected the system to answer but it did not, he realised he was not in pain or dead so he relaxed and concentrated. Before, even though he could tell he was stronger he could not feel the blood essence Inside him.
Now however, when he concentrated he could feel the blood essence coursing through his body strengthening him. He wondered if he could control it.
He tried and to an extent he was actually able to move it. It was not enough to achieve anything but it was a start, he could see hope, maybe one day he could use ash magic like the serpent.
With a smile he absorbed the rest of the blood core and felt the blood essence in his body increase. He wondered if he should eat right now or save the meat for later.
Wait, I can hunt now, I can eat whenever and however I want. With that in mind he left to gather wood, it was already dark out and he was a bit far from the nearest human so he wasn't worried somebody might see the smoke.
He lit up a fire and burnt the feathers off the bird before roasting it. He ate it like a savage beast, the bird was greasy and delicious. He finished all of it in less than fire minutes.
Not as delicious as the snake but definitely delicious, much better than rats. Having experienced the delicious meat of beasts and the joy of getting strong he decided to go hunting again even though it was night.
He avoided the east side which was the territory of the cat and went north this time. As he walking under the canopy of the tall trees he heard voices.
He stopped and climbed a tree, a few hundred metres away he could see a group of men carrying guns. Infront of them was a tall man standing at over 2 metres tall.
He was muscular and had a tattoo of a white tiger on his shoulder. The man was not wearing anything large even in this cold and he did not seem bothered by the cold.
Unlike the others he was not carrying a gun either. The man stopped and sniffed the air, Ashborn stood quietly and watched, he could somehow sense that the bloodline of this man was lower than his.
He has no idea how he can sense that but he somehow could, he could also sense the amount of blood essence in his body and it was a lot, much higher than his, suddenly he felt the blood essence in the man become active.
Most moved to his legs and he moved, all Ashborn saw was a flicker and a second later there was a growl, the man was standing on top of a large wolf 50 metres away from his initial position, the wolf had the same bloodline rank as the man but less essence, still it had more essence than him.
Ashborn was surprised by that speed, how can a human even move that fast, not to mention have enough time to kill a 2 metres tall wolf that could probably slaughter a group of grown men like rabbits all in one second.
Ashborn knew who this man was, there was only one person who could have that strength here, Tiger. He stood still afraid of being discovered.
Gun shots followed and the smell of gun powder filled the air, bird screeched as they hit the ground, other beasts ran away in panick, using that chance he ran as well.
