With due respect and sense of duty, I wish to report the events that occurred during the first engagement against the enemy forces near the city of Glacius.
The attack began almost at dusk, with a coordinated offensive on two flanks. According to scout reports and confirmation from Mage Volka, the enemy separated their forces during the early morning hours to conceal the advance of the western column, which was heading towards the city's southern flank with the clear intention of outflanking us.
The first line of defense held for four hours. Our soldiers, mostly troops from the Frost Regiment and a detachment of archers from Kelvanor, maintained formation despite adverse conditions. The resistance was reinforced by Aster Valyn's light cavalry squadron. The decisive participation of the Scabia mages, led by Dyan Halvest, succeeded in making the enemy retreat, although he was wounded.
Nevertheless, casualties have been considerable. Allow me to break down the numbers so far:

Seriously Wounded: 82 (most with amputations, including Commander Climberland).
Lightly Wounded: 163 (receiving treatment in the field hospital)
Fallen Mages: 3 members of the Minor Circle of Shalmak
Officers Lost: 2 brigade captains, 1 sub-commander (including Captain Sereth Danvor)
I must highlight the performance of the mages sent by Your Majesty. Under Volka's direction, two of them used metamorphosis to fly over the territory and anticipate enemy movement. It was thanks to their report that we managed to contain the advance on the southern flank before they could surprise the fort. Likewise, I must commend the participation of the Scabia mages, who illuminated the unfavorable battlefield, bombarded the enemy rear, and their leader, Dyan Halvest, who fought by my side on the front line.
Furthermore, it is reported that among the seriously wounded is Sergeant Melian Trevyr, from Your Majesty's personal guard, who was found covering the retreat of a wounded detachment. Her conduct will be elevated for review for commendation.
For the moment, enemy forces have retreated towards the northern cliffs. We cannot confirm if this is a tactical withdrawal or preparation for a second assault. Scouts and urgent messengers have been sent to Nurest fortress to request reinforcements.
