Chapter 2 - Chapter 1 | Terrchel meets himself

As Terrchel slowly opened his eyes, he found himself surrounded by an endless expanse of white that seems to go on forever, into mere nothingness. The air felt crisp and cold around him. But he couldn't help but wonder where was he?

More importantly, who was he? His memories seemed to be foggy. Panic began to set in as his mind registered, "you're dead, you're dead!" The thought sent a shiver down his spine. Causing him to hyperventilate with fear and confusion.

He touched his hands to his face, longing to see his reflection, to try and make sense of this bizarre phenomenon he found himself stuck in and perhaps recall a shred of his identity that seemed clouded.

Suddenly, a shimmering altar materialized before him and on it stood a beautiful golden bowl, filled with a mysterious pearly liquid. He suddenly felt an unexplainable thirsty that dried his mouth and sent his heart racing.

He began dragging his feet towards the golden bowl. Repeatedly telling himself "just one sip" with desperation behind his every step. Enticed to drink from the altar, he wasted no time gulping the pearly liquid down hands full despite the uncanny fear nagging in his mind.

For some reason, he was afraid he would drown in the liquid at the first wrong move. After rapidly dispensing most of the pearly liquid, he wiped his mouth and caught his breathe, leaning over the side of the altar still in a daze. But then he caught the first glimpse of himself. In the reflection of the golden bowl and this caused Terrchel to jump backward slightly.

He was alarmed by the slender yet toned figure, with piercing cerise eyes and unruly dark green hair sprouting from his sculp that seemed untamable, standing before him in the reflection.

There is a strange scar on his face that alarms him. Tracing it slowly with his fingertips he scoffs under his breath "What is this?" His mind was reeling with confusion.

"What happened to me?"

"Why don't I recognize my own face?"

He put his hand through his hair, taking a moment to ponder whilst inching forward to lean his weight on the altar, hovering over the golden bowl. His legs needed the extra support he felt like a baby that's just learnt how to manage standing on his own.

Terchel decides to scoop up a handful of the pearly liquid to drink from again, this time straightening his body up and rinsing his face as well, which left a refreshing feeling lingering on his skin and rejuvenating him.

The sensation was something new to him. He seemed to be remembering memories of his past lives but then his thoughts were interrupted by the sudden drop in temperature, looking around to see if anything changed he saw an expansion of nothingness all around him but the altar started to shake causing him to stagger backward.

He falls to the ground and is unable to move. The pearly liquid substance seemed to be imbuing him with a newfound sense of awareness, it was bringing back his memories but everything felt strange and out of place.

His mind is was battling trying to configure and processing what it was remembering and feeling.

A memory flashed in his mind, being tiny yet fast, flying throughout a house and landing on a table only to be swatted to death by a human hand wielding a newspaper as a weapon.

Terrchel's eyes twitch and another memory floods his mind. He was a human, similar to the one he saw in the reflection but there seemed to be some differences. He was in a basement laboratory extracting some form of luminous energy from a transfiguration box that had intricate details engraved into it.

The memory came with a feeling of great power that overwhelmed him. "Nothing makes sense at all!! " he yells out loud to himself, he is instantly filled with frustration, his tone came out far more agitated than he anticipated to hear.

Suddenly the endless expanse of white surrounding him turned into utter darkness!

He felt his knees go weak and head dizzy, Within seconds he collapsed with a loud thud; his head hit what sounded like water dripping.

There was gentle, repetitive hollow "plop" that echoed through the air. It's soothing, calming sound sent him into a meditative state of peace. Making his body feel like it's floating in another universe.

The last thing he remember is dying two different deaths, one as a human and one as something else entirely and everything else is a blank.

"There was definitely something about the man in my last memories that is relatively important to all this, but I can't figure it out" he thought to himself.

Terrchel pondered how any of this possible? How could he have evolved overnight into a human? with thoughts and feelings that seem alien to him. The memories of his past life seemed to be intertwined with those of another.

His unconscious thoughts seemed to increase and present itself at a faster speed in his mind as he processed that - he clearly remembered not knowing anything and purely operating off natural instinct. " I'm sure I didn't comprehend the reasoning behind doing or general existence in my past life" .

The feeling of processing and understanding and just knowing things is thrilling and sending Terrchel's unconscious self into a frenzy. His mind concluded that he is in dire need of answers and clearly an apology from the person that killed him.

Gaining consciousness to the sound of a small splash of water hitting a surface. Terrchel's eyes fluttered open. He felt emensely weak. With his body feeling too heavy to hold up and eyes sleepy.

Memories; about which feels like home and a family, arised. Filling Terrchel with desperation to know who he was and what is going on but above all get out of this place. All these thoughts and concerns.

"Why wasn't my wife with me, where is she" "What happened to my son, where is he now?"

"And are they truly my family?"

These feelings made Terrchel feel a strong connection to them but he wasn't sure if he knew them personally.

Taking a moment to acknowledge his surroundings. He places his hand on his pounding forehead; all the thinking have him a headache.

He whispers under his breath, "I must have passed out and now regained much more of my memories, but it feels like I have two stories living inside me" .

The two sets of memories blur before each other, and Terrchel doesn't understand the correlation, but both feel very personal to him.

A bright light appears in the darkness , and a thunderous voice booms through the atmosphere causing Terrchel's neck hair to stand, "Terrchel, you have awoken from your slumber. Arise!" he jumped to his feet at lightning speed, heart pounding in his chest.

Terrchel was not only taken by surprise at the voice but by he's own speed.

He turned to hear where this thunderous voice was emanating from. Before his eyes shone a bright white figure so bright he couldn't look at it directly. The few seconds he tried looking at it directly felt as if his being would explode into millions pieces of dust at the overwhelming power that stood before him.

Though he was confused as to being told he has awakened when to his knowledge he has been awake for what felt like hours! But afraid of the great power before him he decided to remain silent with his sarcastic thoughts and immediately bow his head and speak softly in response, all agitation leaving him at once and being replaced with terror.

Terrchel: "You referred to me as Terrchel; is that my identity?

The Light: "Yes, I've called you out the darkness to a new life, do you perceive this new thing?"

Terrchel: "Who are you that you have the power to upgrade my existence?"

The Light: "I am He and always will be, the beginning and the end"

Terrchel felt confused and didn't know how to respond. So he instead hovered in silence staring at his own feet awkwardly. This caught his attention and he realized his one toe was longer than the other. He tilted his head in puzzlement, completely distracted in thought.

The Light: "Child, listen carefully. You were a house fly in your past life. However, your spirit cried out to me as you hit the ground in a splat and I heard you swear to be a better human than what you saw before you that day. So I've given you another chance at life, but this time as a human, as your heart yearned".

Terrchel looked up from his feet with his head still crooked to the side and bursted out laughing. It seems his eyes has adjusted to the bright Light and he was able to look at it without exploding but it still burned his eyes.

An adorable Celestial creature with shimmering eyes popped out of the surface beneath them straight onto Terrchel's head.

Terrchel's eyes widened with shock but his body anticipated the event before his mind registered it so he remained still and in balance perfectly poised. He lifted his eyes to look at the adorable creature plopped on his head and it spoke in a cute little voice.

"The memories that flood your mind are those of your past fly self and the vessel you now imbued with. You've been asleep in The Light Realm for the past years until now. The man's vessel you wield, his name was Arnold Maximus. He died the day you died a few years ago and he had a family, but he did not complete his job in the Arcadian realm, which is one of the realms we are investigating here in the Light Realm"

Terrchel: "Wait so this place is called The Light Realm and it's some kind of place where you control and monitor other realms and transfer souls and beings between? But that's impossible.

Terrchel held back his laugh sensing that this is a serious matter and he might get yeeted off the map of realms that suddenly appeared behind him if he didn't conduct himself accordingly.

The Light: "When you're done taking your second chance as a joke, then Fluffysky may continue speaking"

Terrchel's face fell as he knew The Light was not going to tolerate any further subtle jokes and remarks.
