Chapter 8 - Water 7

The sun cast a golden hue over the bustling canals of Water 7 as Enel and Tatsumaki approached the famed city aboard their newly acquired ship. The journey from Jaya had been anything but serene, punctuated by Enel's incessant questioning and Tatsumaki's retaliatory dousing of seawater. Despite their bickering, the duo shared a mutual respect, each recognizing the other's formidable strength and unique abilities.

Water 7, known as the "Capital of Water," was a marvel of engineering and architecture. The city, built atop a series of canals and waterways, was renowned for its shipwrights and the Galley-La Company, the most prestigious shipbuilding firm in the world.

As they docked, the city's vibrant energy enveloped them. Merchants peddle their wares along the canals, shipwrights bustle about, and the aroma of freshly baked bread wafted through the air. Enel, ever the observer, took in the sights with a mixture of curiosity and disdain.

"This place is a maze," he muttered, adjusting the golden drums on his back.

"It's called civilization," Tatsumaki retorted, her emerald eyes scanning the surroundings. "Try not to get us lost" she says, still on his back.

Their primary objective was to commission a ship befitting their ambitions. Enel envisioned a vessel constructed from Adam Wood, a rare and durable material known for its resilience and strength. Such a ship would not only serve as their base of operations but also symbolize their intent to challenge the world's powers.

Navigating the city's intricate waterways, they made their way to the Galley-La Company's headquarters. The building stood as a testament to the city's shipbuilding prowess, its grand façade adorned with intricate carvings and towering spires.

Inside, they were greeted by Iceburg, a man known for his integrity and skill. After brief introductions, Enel laid out his vision for the ship.

"We require a vessel of unparalleled strength and size," he declared. "Constructed from Adam Wood, equipped with the latest technology, and capable of housing a crew of considerable size."

Iceburg listened intently, his fingers steepled beneath his chin. "Such a project would be monumental," he said. "The materials alone are scarce, and the craftsmanship required is exceptional."

"Money is no object," Enel replied, placing a sack of gold on the table. "There are towers of it where that came from.

Iceburg's eyes widened slightly at the sight but remained composed. "Very well," he said. "We shall begin preparations immediately."

As the meeting concluded, Enel and Tatsumaki stepped out into the bustling streets. The sun had begun its descent, casting long shadows across the canals.

"This city holds many secrets," Enel mused, his gaze fixed on the horizon. "We must tread carefully."

Tatsumaki nodded, her expression serious. "Agreed. But with this ship, we'll be ready for whatever comes our way from here on out."

"Let's hope we can find an actual shipwright to steer the ship, instead of relying on your rocky devil fruit abilities." Enel said.

Tatsumaki's jab in the back shut off his complaints, as she ducked her head under the covers of his cloak.

As night fell over Water 7, the duo prepared for the challenges ahead, their resolve unwavering. The journey to become the world's most formidable pirate crew had only just begun.
