Chapter 81 - Chapter 81

Behind The Spotlight Chapter 81

Passionate Island was about a couple who fell in love on a tropical island.

Rosey was a woman from a rich family who longed for freedom from the heavy shackles of responsibility imposed by her parents. Her parents only wanted to use her to marry a fat, old, rich man for status and connections.

While on the beautiful beach of Passionate Island, Rosey met Jacky under the shade of a coconut tree. She commissioned him to paint her, and the two slowly formed a bond through quiet talks and lingering glances. In her short time with Jacky, they shared passionate moments that made her feel alive for the first time.

However, the heavens didn't bless them for long. An earthquake struck the island with terrifying force.

The ground shook and some buildings collapsed. But that wasn't the greatest threat they had to face. The water on the beach receded so quickly that fish were left flapping helplessly on the sand. A chilling sign that a tsunami was about to strike.

Rosey and Jacky, like many others, failed to evacuate due to the panic and confusion. After all, Passionate Island was an island and there was nowhere to run. No mountains, no sturdy shelters, only flat land and flimsy structures. The wealthy had already fled with helicopters and private planes as soon as they sensed danger, while the rest could do nothing but brace themselves with trembling knees and helpless prayers.

Jacky found a stable tree in the middle of the island, and the couple climbed it with desperation in their eyes. But the tsunami was relentless, and the towering waves could not be resisted. The rope they had prepared proved useful but not enough to guarantee survival.

The surge of water slammed into them, sweeping them away like paper boats in a raging river. Still, they held on to the rope with every ounce of strength they had.

The tree bent under the force of nature and creaked as it struggled to withstand the waves. Jacky knew he had only seconds to make a choice and he chose to save Rosey no matter the cost.

Even though they had only known each other for a short time, the love he felt for her was real. He decided to let go of the rope after sharing one final kiss with her... That was the last time they saw each other, a kiss of farewell and eternal love.

When the tsunami passed, the sea slowly receded back into the ocean as if it had never come. But it left behind nothing but destruction and unimaginable sorrow.

Rosey stood in the middle of mud and broken debris, the remnants of what was once a paradise. She walked through the wreckage, finding bodies and devastation that shattered her soul piece by piece. Almost no one survived. Silence fell over the island like a curse.

Miraculously, she found her sister alive. But their parents were gone. Rosey and her sister cried out loud, embracing each other amid the ruins.

An hour later, rescuers arrived with helicopters. Rosey, her sister, and the few other survivors were relieved to finally see a flicker of hope.

Rosey searched desperately for her lover with bloodshot eyes and trembling hands. She scanned the faces of every survivor, hoping to find Jacky among them. But he was nowhere to be found.

She cried out his name, her voice cracking from grief.

"Jacky! Jacky! You said we will meet each other again! Where are you?"

Her cries echoed through the silence.

She wept uncontrollably. She tried to run and search the island, but her sister and the rescuers held her back, fearing she would hurt herself. They told her it was too dangerous to explore the island right now.

Eventually, she calmed down, but her heart remained in turmoil. She held onto the hope that Jacky might still be alive. The rescuers did their best to find more survivors but Jacky was never found.

It was in that moment that Rosey accepted the truth. Jacky was gone. Her legs gave out beneath her, and she collapsed under the weight of grief.

She eventually grew old and started a family, trying her best to move on. But she never forgot her one true love, the man who had sacrificed everything to save her.

Without regret, she gave the expensive jewelry that the rich fat old man had once given her to her children. She knew it could change her children's and grandchildren's lives for the better.

She didn't throw it into the ocean like some fucking bitch.

...

...

The movie ended with an iconic song from a famous singer hired by the production team to add emotional weight to the credits.

The audience sobbed as the credits rolled, waves of emotion crashing over them. It was unforgettable. Even men cried, but the women had it worse, they were bawling like babies, unashamed of their sorrow. They couldn't believe the movie had hurt them so deeply yet still warmed their hearts.

Still, no one regretted buying a ticket. In fact, they wanted to watch it again, to relive the ache and the love. They wanted to recommend it to their friends and family.

The first part of the film was heartwarming, filled with stunning scenery and lighthearted moments. It painted a picture of an island paradise brimming with joy and luxury.

But the second half was dark and devastating, portraying the wrath of nature swallowing everything in its path. Yet no one could tear their eyes away from the screen, captivated by the love story unfolding before them.

Even in the face of danger, the chemistry between the lead actors was so intense it transcended. The audience truly believed they were watching real lovers torn apart.

When Jacky let go of the rope, some women in the audience cried out "No!" as he slowly faded from view like a dream slipping away. It was a gut-wrenching moment that left everyone breathless.

They wanted to protect Jacky. He didn't deserve to die in such a tragic way. He deserved all the love in the world and more. But it was his sacrifice that made him unforgettable and immortal in their hearts.

He was a real man.

The production team chose not to use the name "Bora Bora" and instead stuck with the movie's title to avoid any legal trouble or controversy. They couldn't afford the risk of using a real location, it just wasn't worth it.

Lawrence's parents, who had attended the premiere, were emotional and had tears streaking down their faces. They couldn't believe their son had starred in a movie that touched so many hearts. Although his tragic role was hard for any parent to endure.

Lawrence's father felt proud. Was it because Jacky was a true man who made the ultimate sacrifice? Or was it because Lawrence had finally made it as an actor worthy of the spotlight?

Lawrence's mother turned to Collin, whose eyes were slightly red from holding back tears. Even Collin had to admit the movie moved him despite trying to stay composed.

"Collin, thank you for helping my son reach his dream," she said softly, her voice filled with emotion.

Collin nodded... He had heard this same statement from Lawrence's mother so many times before.

"Aww... Shit... My makeup is getting messy and I look like a raccoon. Who the fuck said that this movie is Romance? Bitch, this is Angst with a capital A."

Jennifer, who also attended the premiere, was in tears and clearly not over what she had just watched.

"This movie is amazing."

Axel and Wyatt, also present in sharp suits, had received tickets from Lawrence. Of course, they came to show support.

None of them expected the movie to be this impactful. It left them speechless. The box office numbers still needed to be calculated, but they were confident this movie was going to be a hit.
