Chapter 4 - Chapter 3 - The Prodigy vs The Devil part 1

¹

"Our current land is currently divided into 5 different kingdoms. The Human nation , The elven nation, the Dwarven nation, the Nation of Orcs and… The Fallens." Robert explained.

"Fallens?" He asked with curiosity.

"This land had a lot of kingdoms, but…" expression hardened. "They were all taken down and captured by the ruler of the fallens, he goes by the name Askovow."

"Askovow? What kind of name is that?" Edward interjected.

"It's hard to explain in detail, but his name is said to have originated from an ancient language, I also don't know much about it." He replied as he gazed up at the sky, seemingly reminiscing about his past, with a saddened face.

"The elven kingdom war… which started more than three months before your summoning. He had the same goal, Askovow wanted that place and something which we can not afford to lose."

He then looked at Edward and added, "The body we used for summoning you, was of one of an important figures of the war. A prodigy... Even after being of a really young age, he excelled in almost everything, he was one of the strongest."

"If he was so strong, how did he die?" He asked the obvious question.

"Arthur, a prodigy, once thought undefeatable, could not stand against…"

11 days before the summoning…

Slash!!!!

A large sword cut through a man, a soldier, cutting him in two halves. Blood spilled out of his body like water, he immediately collapsed.

Holding the sword was an old man, he looked pale and old, but was strong enough to deal with 10 men at once.

Bald, short white beard, muscular body which was covered with armour, his face itself showed about his experience.

He looked up at the open sky, a bright day with beautiful weather. Who could have thought a war was raging out. People were dying as each second passed. "I hope it all ends soon." He said to himself, his voice was hoarse, tired from war and sight of blood, he just wanted to go home.

"Commander!!" He heard a voice, a young man came running, his expression was like he was in great dread.

"There… just blood… blood everywhere… no bodies…" his breaths were heavy, he was in fear, being unable to even speak properly.

"What? Just take me to that place immediately!" The old man ordered.

Both of them immediately rushed to the place…

"The group contained nearly 70 people and were utterly wiped out…" another man spoke as he bent down looking at the dried out blood.

From behind the old man arrived. His expression hardened as he looked at the blood.

"This can't be… Is he here? But why would the leader of the fallens be here?" the old man spoke, tensed and his mind filled with thoughts.

He shouted, "We need to inform this to the other group immediately!!!!".

³

"Great job everyone, almost everyone survived." a young boy announced.

The condition here looked better, it was looking like the battle had just ended.

The boy was a commander, 17 year old, blond scattered hair, short chin, muscular slender body, sharp black eyes.

"Arthur!!!" The old man came running with three other people behind him.

"Hey commander, what's the matter?" Arthur asked in a calm voice, unaware of the situation on the other side.

"There's something I need to tell…" his words were abruptly cut as the three people behind him suddenly collapsed on the ground.

He slowly looked behind with an expression of dread.

Before anyone could react, blood filled the ground, the blood which came out of those collapsed bodies. It looked like they had gotten a deep cut on their chest or stomach.

The men were just normal a few seconds ago and suddenly… This happened. It did not make sense at all.

"What the hell's happening!!!" The old man roared.

It wasn't over, there was more to come, just the next instant, "Cough!!!" The old man spat out blood. He was forced to get on his knees.

He couldn't speak anything. Blood slowly flowed out of his mouth. He clutched his heart tightly, and groaned in pain.

"Are you alright!?" Arthur asked, trying to look at his condition. He was shocked, he didn't know what was happening.

Then, in the next moment…

SPLASH!!!

The old man, who was sitting on the ground, was erased from existence…The only thing that remained was a big mark of blood on the ground.

The mark was faint red, only a thin layer of blood was on the floor. His body, his bones, all crumbled and collapsed, leaving only his blood.

"Sooo… you are that champion kid, the prodigy, the so-called undefeatable." a man came from behind in a group of almost 20 people.

He was a long red haired man, having a long chin and had an evil grin on his face. His hair was like a samurai. Long height, strong body, fair skin, just like an incarnation of a devil himself.

"Askovow, the devil, the leader of the fallens, the so-called incarnation of the devil himself." Arthur spoke, as he stood straight, looking with a cold murderous gaze. A gaze which would bring chills to the spine to anyone who would look at him. His eyes, filled with hatred and seeked revenge for each life that man took. His expression itself was cold, in rage.

The man wore a white coat, black lines all over and a black pants, perfectly suitable for combat, he had come prepared.

Askovow wasn't even given a chance to speak another word. A huge flame suddenly struck just by his side which he dodged by bending to the side.

"Calm down kid. I just killed that old bastard to make an entry…" He said he did not care about anyone's life.

Arthur eyed him coldly, his eyes filled with rage, but he kept his emotions in control. In front of the leader of the fallens… He needed to be extremely careful. Or else, the next one to die would undoubtedly be him. This was the truth. But he wasn't going to back off…
