Chapter 2 - Chapter 2: Starting Off Under the Watch of Odin and the Ancient One—What Now

[Name]: Gilderoy Lockhart

[Possessions]: —

Staring at the pale blue light floating in front of his eyes, Lockhart's lips curled into a faint smile.

As a transmigrator, of course he had a cheat—what he called the Reputation Gacha System. Its primary function was simple: use reputation points to perform gacha pulls.

The targets? People who had a close connection to him or a high approval rating.

The higher their favorability, the easier it was to obtain their most valuable spells, abilities—or even their innate talents.

That was the reason he had the confidence to stand before Dumbledore.

That was the foundation of his strength—his key to pursuing truth.

More importantly, it was his trump card in reforming the narrow-minded, outdated, classist wizarding world.

He was especially grateful that the original Lockhart had been a famous author with a massive fanbase.

That celebrity status had given him a huge reserve of reputation points and a steady stream of gacha targets.

Sure, most of his fans were housewives or average witches who only knew basic spells—but after a month of fan events, signings, and burning through reputation points like crazy, he had finally mastered the core spells every competent wizard needed—shaking off the label of fraud.

At the very least...

He wouldn't suffer the humiliation of being disarmed by a second-year ever again.

The downside?

Combat wizards and Ministry Aurors were rare among his fans. Truly powerful witches and wizards were nearly nonexistent.

During his first post-transmigration month, he hadn't even met any, let alone drawn from them.

Still, through relentless self-study and structured training, he'd taught himself a few practical battle spells.

And to his surprise—his magical talent was at least equal to the original Lockhart's, if not greater.

Maybe it was the fusion of two souls.

Maybe it was fate.

Either way—it was working.

But none of that was his true edge.

Lockhart's eyes shifted to the bottom right corner of the system panel:

[Time until world shift: 240 minutes. Host, please prepare for the shift.]

This was his true advantage: the World-Shift Function.

In short, every month, he would automatically be transported to another world for 30 days, then return to the Harry Potter world.

But there was a catch...

The system only allowed travel between two fixed worlds.

Not random worlds. Not ones he could choose.

Just two: —The Wizarding World of Harry Potter.

—And "World B."

A constant loop:

30 days in Harry Potter

30 days in World B

Repeat.

Lockhart suspected the system was intentionally avoiding something. Why else limit him to just two worlds?

Still...

He was thankful for one thing:

Time was synchronized.

The moment he left one world, time paused there—and resumed exactly when he returned.

No lost opportunities.

No temporal dissonance.

Just double the time to grow stronger.

If he could gain powerful abilities from the other world, his odds of surviving Dumbledore—or something even worse—would skyrocket.

That was Lockhart's real trump card.

And now, after almost a month back in the wizarding world, the countdown had begun.

In four hours, he'd shift to World B—a place he'd been waiting to revisit for weeks.

Night – Lockhart's Residence

[Time until world shift: 3 minutes. Host, please prepare.]

Lockhart stood still, eyes locked on the glowing system panel. One hand gripped his wand. The other held his enchanted suitcase.

Calm. Focused. Ready.

[World shift will begin shortly. Host, please prepare.]

[World shift countdown: 3, 2, 1…]

[First world shift initiated. Anchoring new world…]

[Anchoring in progress…]

[Establishing world-shift channel…]

[Note: High energy fluctuations detected. Energy usage can be reduced by utilizing them. Proceed with descent?]

[Automatically selecting… Based on calculations, energy reserves will be preserved and optimized. Descent approved.]

[World shift imminent…]

[Warning: After 30 days, the soul will begin absorbing the target world's essence. Depart in time to avoid contamination.]

A modified black van tore across the desert under the starlit sky.

Inside, Jane Foster held a camera, eyes glued to the streaks of aurora racing above.

"Daisy! Aurora! Step on it—go, go, go!" she shouted.

Erik Selvig, seated in the back, watched in awe.

"Daisy, hurry! This could be your thesis unfolding in real time!"

With a wide grin, Daisy Lewis slammed the gas pedal, sending the van speeding through the desert night.

---

Meanwhile, Lockhart's vision went black.

He felt like he was falling—rushing down a tunnel of swirling energy.

The drop startled him into a scream.

"AHHH—!"

But almost immediately, he realized it wasn't painful. No injuries. No danger.

Just... mildly unsettling.

He adjusted his grip on the suitcase and tightened his hold on his wand.

Seriously, system? Can we work on the landing next time?

Then his eyes narrowed.

There was someone else nearby.

A tall, muscular blond man.

Lockhart immediately raised his wand, magic surging at his fingertips.

Alert. Ready. Dangerous.

But something was off.

The man had no magical aura.

Completely Muggle-like.

That's impossible. No ordinary human could survive a transfer like this.

Another transmigrator?

Does the system allow overlap? Garbage programming!

If the other guy was also a transmigrator, only one conclusion made sense:

Strike first. Or be struck.

Two transmigrators in one world?

Only one could reap the rewards.

Still…

Why did this guy look so damn familiar?

And the whole setup—the van, the desert, the lights—it all seemed... vaguely cinematic.

Then it hit him.

The descent slowed.

Lockhart landed smoothly.

The blond man, on the other hand, got smashed by the van and knocked out cold.

Lockhart smirked.

Finally—not me.

But then, reality clicked into place.

The van screeched to a stop.

Three people jumped out—one middle-aged man and two young women, clearly panicking.

"Jane, legally speaking, this is 100% your fault!" Daisy shouted.

"Not the time, Daisy! Get the first-aid kit!" Jane snapped.

The blond man slowly stood, dazed and furious.

"My hammer… Mjölnir!"

Then he roared at the sky:

"Heimdall! I know you can hear me! Send me back!"

Lockhart froze.

Jane. Heimdall. Mjölnir.

This could only be—

The Marvel Universe.

His face fell.

Of all the worlds… why this one?!

And at this exact moment?!

He hadn't just landed in the MCU.

He'd dropped into the timeline of Thor (2011).

Which meant…

Odin was watching.

And so was the Ancient One.

Because when Odin's son hit Earth, everyone paid attention.

---

Question:

If you start off being watched by both Odin and the Ancient One…

What the hell do you do?
