Eros smiled. "Yeah. He said, and I quote 'Lux is a walking contract bomb wrapped in sex. If you can afford him, you're not smart enough. If you're smart enough, you're too scared.'"
Lux laughed once. "Sounds like him."
"Don't make me regret dragging your ass here," Eros said.
"You didn't drag me. He dragged me. Difference."
"Minor."
They both paused at the entrance to the ballroom.
Ahead of them, Asmo's court was already in full swing. Demons danced. Others lounged with drinks in hand. Whispers floated in the air like perfume. The moment Lux entered, the temperature subtly shifted.
Eyes turned.
Conversations slowed.
One by one, the crowd began to notice.
Lux Vaelthorn.
Alive.
Glowing.
Dressed like he owned the floor.
Cocky smile in place.
And definitely not dead.
He stepped forward, exuding charm and danger in equal measure.
And somewhere deep in the Lust Court, Asmo smiled.
It was about to get interesting.
