Miranda's POV
"Is everything alright?" Mac's voice sounded in my ears and my vision slowly regained focus. I glanced at my sad reflection on the car's window, and closed my eyes again.
"Yes," I answered, but that was a lie. The image back there replayed over and over again in my head telling me what I saw was real.
I came up with many reasons as to why Colton was with that beast, and at the end, each one of them led back to the same answer.
'Colton was never different from him.'
I should have known by now. How could I have forgotten the torment I went through for years? How could I have thrown everything out of my mind because he held my hands?
How?!
I clenched my hands so tight that a sharp pain shot through me, "I am so stupid,'' I added, gritting my teeth.
"Did you say something, miss?" Mac yelled, his voice swallowed by the honks from vehicles in the background.
