Chapter 11 - Chapter 11: Experimentation

Walkie-talkie Comms Activate

Adrian: "Click. Hey, you guys hear me? Bobby? Cassie?"

Bobby: "Yeah, we can hear you again."

Cassie: "Same here. Loud and clear."

"Good. This is how we're going to communicate from now on. Keep them hidden."

Cassie: "So, what exactly do you want to tell us?"

"Yeah Adrian, what's the Secret?"

Adrian: "We got good news and bad news."

Cassie: "Classic. Hit us with the bad first."

Adrian: ignoring her

"The good news is, we have all the items we need to escape. Right, Bobby?"

Bobby: "Yup. I placed everything in a secret compartment behind my bed. The only way to access it is with my Quantum Jump."

"Perfect. The bad news... the new Warden. Heard he is a mutant. Not just any kind either. Strong. Strict. Hates troublemakers."

Cassie: "Sounds concerning. Will it mess with the plan?"

Adrian: "Not completely. Just a hiccup."

Bobby: "Wait, are we sure it's safe to talk over these walkie-talkie? What if they can tap into the signal?"

Adrian: "Don't worry. I encrypted the signal. Four-layer masking protocol. Undetectable."

Adrian lay on his bed, staring at the ceiling. Thoughts swirl in his mind, layering backup plans over escape routes. Suddenly, footsteps echo outside.

He reacts fast. With a flick of his fingers, he phases the Walkie-talkie into the hidden wall compartment using Permeation.

The door creaks open.

Silas Micros: "Well, well. Prisoner 528. On your feet."

Adrian stands, expression unreadable.

Silas: "You missed your scheduled tests while you were in solitary. Time to make up for lost time."

In Adrian's mind: "Fuck you, old bastard."

But outwardly, his face remains calm. Controlled.

Scene: The Lab

Adrian is strapped to a cold steel table. Scientists in gray lab coats circle around, prepping syringes. One of them holds a strange, shimmering pink serum.

Scientist 1: "Prisoner 528 shows remarkable compatibility. Candidate prime for Gene enhancer type 2."

Scientist 2: "Commencing injection."

The serum burns as it enters his bloodstream. His head throbs like it's about to split in two.

His body twitches. A Pink smoke seeps from his pores. It twists, curls, and swirls like a storm cloud caught in glass.

Scientist 1: "His Smoke is reacting. It's... denser. Controlled seems like?"

Scientist 2: "And The scanner say there's a hallucinogenic trace! Neural scans show mild disorientation triggers nothing deadly."

In Adrian's mind: "It evolved... I can feel it. I can control the direction. I can shape it... and it messes with their heads. This could be useful."

His eyes narrow but my head hurts so much but. Very useful.

Scene: Back in the Cell

Bobby arrives to check on Adrian.

"Hey dude. You okay? You look like hell."

Adrian: "No, I am fuck king not."

He stumbles onto his bunk, sweat dripping, body spasming slightly.

Bobby: "Should I take you to the clinic?"

Adrian: "Fuck no. They'll just use it as an excuse to poke me more. Just bring water."

A thin trail of smoke seeps from Adrian's fingertips. He clenches his jaw hard, forcing it back.

Warden Silas Micros POV

In his office, Silas flips through reports, scanning prisoner behavior logs. A knock at the door.

Guard: "Uh, sir. There's been a signal anomaly detected. Might be nothing, but—"

Silas: "You think 'might' is good enough here?"

With a cold and warning tone

He stands. In a blur, his fist slams into the guard's chest, sending him crashing into the concrete wall.

CRACK. Spiderweb fractures spread out around the impact zone.

Silas: "Don't come to me with half-assed reports. Come to me with results. Or don't come at all."

He turns to the window overlooking the cell block.

Silas (internal):Someone's planning something. I can smell it.

Walkie-talkie Crackles

Cassie: "Hey, Adrian. You okay? Bobby told me what happened yesterday. Said you looked like you had a stroke."

Adrian: "Please don't say stroke. Brings back bad memories."

Bobby: "Wait, you've had a stroke before?"

Adrian: "Yeah. Once. And once was enough."

Cassie: "Anyway... today's the day, right?"

Adrian: "Yeah. 11 p.m. Everything goes down."

Cassie: "Remember the plan."

Adrian's Escape Plan (Simplified)

Adrian: nods, voice low and steady through the walkie.

Adrian:"Alright, final rundown. No room for mistakes."

Step One – Power Down"At exactly 11:00 p.m., Bobby's EMP goes live. It'll fry the lights, cameras, doors—everything goes dark. That's our signal to move."

Step Two – Chaos Cover"I'll unlock every cell I can from the override panel. We let the whole prison loose. Riot-level chaos. Guards will scramble to contain it, and that's our opening."

Step Three – Vent Crawl"We regroup at the maintenance wing. Bobby opens the sealed vent using his jump. Cassie, cover it in shadows. We climb in and move fast."

Step Four – Data Grab"We hit the archive room along the way—grab every file on experiments, prisoner IDs, and the locations of other camps. We're not just escaping—we're exposing this place."

Step Five – Steal a Ride"We drop into the vehicle bay. There's a transport truck parked near the far exit. We jack it and punch out before they know we're gone."

Step Six – Disappear"Once we're clear, we hide. Stay off-grid until it's safe. Then we release the info to someone who can actually help—the X-Men, anyone willing to listen."

Bobby: "All or nothing, huh?"

Adrian: "Always."

Cassie: "Sounds like a movie script."

Adrian smirks slightly.

Adrian: "Let's make it a happy ending."

Bobby: "Oh yeah, Adrian, why did you need me to find you a bag of sand."

Adrian: "It's for my fighting style."

Cassie: "You fight with sand? Seriously? What are you, a villain from a Saturday morning cartoon?"

Adrian: "I weaponize it. Trust me."

Cassie: "Mmhmm. And Bobby, why aren't you down in max security with me? With your powers, you should be send down here."

Bobby: "They don't know the full scope. Far as they're concerned, I just Teleport objects. Not cut through space."

Adrian: "Smart."

Cassie: "Alright then, team. Are we ready for this?"

Adrian glances at the wall clock: 10:30 p.m.

He stands, smoke faintly rising from his shoulders.

Adrian: "Ready as I'll ever be."
