Vows

A vow is more than a promise—it's a binding force made within the Reverie. If accepted, it grants power. But every vow comes at a cost, and not all vows are what they appear to be.

True Vow – Rooted in a person's deepest truth. Rare, powerful, and dangerous to break.

??? Vow – A vow made without full understanding—or in denial.

??? Vow – A vow that should be impossible. And yet.

The Sworn

Those who have undergone Reverie trials and emerged with a vow. Sworn individuals wield powers tied to the nature of their vow. Most are registered. Some are not. Some break.

The Reverie

A dreamlike realm that reflects inner truths, hidden fears, and forgotten possibilities. Entering the Reverie can change a person—sometimes subtly, sometimes entirely.

Shard

Floating fragments of the Old Gods' realms. In the Reverie, they are vast—sometimes as large as continents—separated by distances no mortal has crossed. In the real world, they serve as anchors for the Citadels.

The Citadels

Ancient structures tethered to the Reverie. Citadels are the heart of shards. Once conquered, they manifest in the real world alongside a Gate.

The Gate

An unstable portal that links the real world to the Reverie. Gates activate during the day, drawing in sunlight to power the transition. Anything—or anyone—may pass through.

The Accord

A global peacekeeping body tasked with regulating Reverie access, managing the Sworn, and preserving public order.Officially unified. Quietly fractured.

The Mark of Madness

A condition affecting those touched by the Reverie but who have not yet taken a vow. Appears as a 'crack' in one or both eyes. Marked individuals are closely monitored, and sometimes feared.

The Gutter

The decaying underside of the city—born from the fallout of the Third World War. Lawless. Brutal. A cesspool of flesh, drugs, and blood. No one climbs out clean.

Shard Echo

Rogue Citadels that manifest in the real world, bringing with them hazards and entities from the Reverie. Extremely unstable. Often lethal.
