After a short drive, Lincoln stopped at Gus's games and grub, An arcade Pizza place that he hangs out at with his
friends.
"How come your not putting it in your storage?" Lana asked as Lincoln locked it.
"Too many people around and there are cameras as well" Lincoln answers in a hush voice "I don't feel like
getting hunted down and dissected for my abilities"
"I agree, If this was before everything that has transpired then I myself would have tried to preform some level
of experimentation" Lisa said, before realizing how it sounded and quickly added "Not to the point of
dissection, I would monitor, take notes and do some scans, but never dissect you"
Lincoln chuckles as he ruffles her hair "I know Lisa"
Lisa visible relaxed as she released a sigh in relief that she didn't know she was holding.
Lucy, Lana and Lisa feel like they are walking on a minefield, They don't want to say or do anything wrong that
could break the trust they have with him, Especially after everything that's happened.
One can gain trust but its fragile, It can break so easily and is so hard to regain once broken.
As they stepped into the arcade the girls begin to look around, despite it being one of Lincoln's favorite places
and his numerous suggestions during there sibling meetings not once have they ever been here except Lori who
works part time, though not today.
"Huh, this place looks pretty fun" Lana says, seeing many people playing a bunch of different games, she then
takes a big whiff of the air "And smells tasty"
"That would be the food" Lincoln says an employee carrying a tray of pizza and wings walks past them. "But this
place is fun, their are many different kinds of games that I know you'll all like, Horror and fantasy games for
Lucy, puzzle and tricky games for Lisa and games that involve garbage, cars or animals for you Lana"
The girls look around and indeed see games that peak their interest, They even spot games that their other
sisters would enjoy.
" Lets go tell my friends the news then I'll get us some tokens to play" Lincoln said as he leads them to his
groups meet up spot " Everything will be on me today"
The girls exchanged looks before Lucy spoke "Look Lincoln, we appreciate it but you have spent a lot of money,
We don't know how much of your allowance you've saved up but we can help pay for us"
Lincoln blinks, then he starts to chuckle making them confuse.
"Hey, I'm serious" Lucy say'd with a small frown but when she feels a hand on her head patting her she looked to
see Lincoln smiling, getting his chuckles under control.
"There might be one more secret I have to show you girls, but don't tell anyone" Lincoln says and as he got a
hesitant nod from them did he pull out his phone and showed them his bank account.
He almost laughed as their faces turned from curious to stunned then finally, jaw dropping shock, Lisa almost
passed out and Lana fell to her knees as Lucy was frozen with her mouth left open.
Sweet innocent Lily doesn't understand what's the matter but as she sees Lucy, she closes her mouth only for
Lucy's jaw to drop once more making Lily giggle as she repeats it over and over again as if it were a game.
"L-Lincoln, H-how?" Lucy asked, not being able to make full sentences.
"Well those friends I mentioned gave me a starting sum of $100,000 about the same time I went through my
change" Lincoln answered "I just made some smart decisions, how else did you think I bought my car?"
"W-Well I had assumed t-that they had given it to you as well" Lisa says trying to pull herself together "B-but to
have gained that much in a month even with a $100,000 to start with is impressive"
Lincoln shrugs "I guess so, I don't really spend much, the only things that I bought were my car, Leni's dress and
the groceries I get for the hot-spring's kitchen"
"Man, If the rest of the family ever found out..." Lana started to say, concern written all over their faces
"It would be gone in a week" Lucy finishes
"On the off chance they ever do find out, I still wouldn't give them a single cent." Lincoln told them "Now lets
hurry up I can see my friends"
~Over With Lincoln's Group~
"Where is he?, Lincoln's never this late" said Rusty Spokes one of Lincoln's Friends
Rusty Spokes is a skinny boy with curly orange hair. He wears blue baggy pants, a light green T-shirt with a
yellow collar and a black ellipse on it and white shoes. He also has buck teeth with a huge gap in between them
and freckles all over his face.
"I'm sure he's on his way" Clyde said, thinking about Lincoln's change as this will be his first time seeing it in
person "Just give him some time, he's been through a lot these past few days"
"Ya, you keep saying that but haven't said much" Rusty said with narrow eyes "Is their something we need to
know?"
"Lincoln can explain better, Just keep an open mind" Clyde assures him
"What I'm wondering is whats's she doing here" Zack said pointing to Haiku
Zach Gurdle is a short kid with wild unkempt red hair, thick glasses, buck teeth, and freckles on his cheeks. He
wears a white and blue striped polo shirt, blue jeans, and white sneakers.
"N-Not that their's a problem with that" Said Liam after seeing Haiku glare
Liam Hunnicut is a short boy with fair skin, freckles with his short orange hair styled into a bowl cut, and two
buck teeth. His wears a light and dark green striped t-shirt, brown shorts, white sneakers with green stripes, and
white socks with red and blue stripes.
Haiku rolls her eyes "Lucy invited me saying that it's important"
"Who is Lucy?" Rusty asked, always confused on which is which when it cam to Lincoln's sisters
"The pale one with black hair" Clyde answered "She scares people by appearing out of nowhere"
Rusty scoffs "Please, you guys might get scared but not me" Rusty boasts, puffing out his chest making them all
roll their eyes.
"Is that so?" Lucy said standing next to their table, seemingly appearing out of nowhere which causes them all
except Haiku to scream with Rusty being the loudest as he jumps into Liam's arms.
"Wow so fearless" Liam says sarcastically as Rusty gets out of his arms, his face red with embarrassment while
the group snickers in slight amusement.
"Sorry Rusty, you ok?" Lincoln asked as he arrives at the table
"Ya I'm..." Rusty started but pauses when he sees Lincoln, "...fine?"
Liam and Zach's expressions mirror Rusty's, A perfect combination of surprise and disbelief as they each rubbed
their eyes to make sure their seeing right.
"Oh, hey Haiku" Lincoln greeted her
"H-hey Lincoln" She said with a blush and a nervous wave, Lucy can be seen snickering with Lana and Lisa
behind Lincoln's back.
"Link?, What in tarnation happened to you!?" Liam asked, his friend used to be as skinny as the rest of them but
now he is like a prize bull at the county fare.
"Looks like I have to explain huh?" Lincoln asked, scratching the back of his head
"Uh ya, that would be nice" Zack said, wondering how his friend changed so much
"Just let me call someone so they can join in" Lincoln said pulling out his phone
"Who you calling?" Liam asked
"Ronnie Anne" Lincoln told them as he FaceTimes her, after a few rings she picks up
"H-hey Lame-o" Ronnie Anne greeted nervously "Whats up?"
"Well I have some big news that I want you all to know but first I have to explain my change to them real quick"
Lincoln said as he positioned the phone so she can see them all.
"Alright Lame-o, you have me intrigued with this 'Big news' so hurry up and tell them so you can get too it."
Ronnie Anne said, wondering what this 'Big news' is.
So once more, Lincoln had to explain about his growth watching them closely to see their reactions.
Clyde and Ronnie Anne already heard it all so they didn't show any reaction and Haiku heard a little from Lucy
but paid attention as their were a lot of details that went unsaid. As for the others they listened with batted
breaths, Taking it all in.
"Wow, s-so that video of you ripping that gator in half by it's jaws was real?" Rusty asked as Lincoln nodded.
"RIPPING A WHAT IN HALF?!" Ronnie Anne yelled through the phone, making many at the table flinch from how
loud she yelled.
"Ha ha ha, Did I forget to tell you" Lincoln asked, laughing nervously as Ronnie Anne glared.
"What has been happening in Royal woods since I've been gone?" Ronnie Anne demanded, wondering why all
the exciting things happened after she moved.
"W-well it was during one of my alligator wrestling matches and as I was fighting a big gator the others escaped"
Lana says with a shiver, still afraid from that day "I-I t-tried to get out of their b-but the doors wouldn't b-budge."
Lana's breathing became uneven as the events play over and over in her mind "T-They got a hold of me and my
overalls ripped making me roll away from them and the door, After that t-they c-came running at m-me b-but t-
them L-Lincoln stepped in and saved me when I w-was about to...to"
Lana couldn't say anymore and begins to tear up as Lincoln wraps a protective arm around her and rubs her
back to soothingly as Lucy, Lisa and Lily joined in, After a few moments Lana starts to calm down but still holds
Lincoln tightly.
The sight of Lana breaking down was enough of an answer for Ronnie Anne, Even the others at the table sees
how it effected the her and felt bad, those that found the video of Lincoln ripping the Gator in half cool or
awesome felt guilty as they see how traumatic it was for her.
"I-I'm sorry for bringing it up, I-I..." Ronnie Anne was tongue tied as she tries to think of an apology.
"I-It's fine" Lana sniffles, as she wipes her tears "I-I'm here and alive and it's all thanks to Lincoln"
"I'm your brother, it's my job to protect you" Lincoln told her planting a kiss on her forehead
The girls smiled at that, They are truly grateful to have a brother like Lincoln and are glad that they know just
how important he is to them.
"Well that's sweet and all but what's this big news Lincoln" Clyde asked, hoping to change the very sensitive
subject "You called a code Maroon"
"Code Maroon?" Lana asked as the girls looked at Lincoln
"I have a lot of codes for different situations" Lincoln admitted, he's not ashamed to admit that he made so
many codes that he had to look up colors online.
"Wait, it was a code maroon" Liam then pulled a small booklet and started to flip through pages "So you have a
life threatening injury!?"
"No that would be code dark crimson" Lincoln corrected
"Ah, I see" Liam exclaimed as Zach pointed to the right code "Code maroon: An emergency meeting of greet
importance that results in a massive life changing event"
Those that are not in the group bling in surprise at them.
"You have a booklet?" Lisa asked Liam, who nodded "Do you all have one?"
Clyde, Rusty and Zach all pulled out their own booklets, they all turned to Lincoln.
"I memorized it, so I don't need a booklet" Lincoln informed them as Lucy skims through Clyde's booklet.
"You have coded for when your grounded, when things are overly chaotic,...if farm animals are on the loose?"
"Oh that code if for me" Liam says "My pet pig Virginia can get feisty sometimes and would start a stamped for
the fun of it."
"I'm surprised you didn't call that one this time" Clyde said to Liam
"Well we got her a new toy and she'll play with it for hours then fall asleep" Liam told them, relieved that Virginia
calmed down after her first one broke.
"O...k?" It was not the weirdest thing Lucy ever heard but still strange, as she looks at the next code her face falls
slightly "Sisters?", thats all it says; Sisters.
"Oh, their used to be many codes for you guys but their were so many that we combined 20 or 30 of the simpler
ones to just Sisters like Snooping sisters, Overbearing Sisters, Angry Sisters, I need to get awa-" Zach covers
Rusty's mouth to get him to stop talking.
Lincoln flinches as he sees their faces fall "Look girls, I'm sor-"
"Don't apologize Lincoln" Lucy said, giving the booklet back to Clyde "We know that we drive you up the wall
most of the time, Everything that has been happening shows how much stress we put on you so don't apologize
just because we're learning how unfair we've always been"
Lincoln sighs, Knowing that further discussion on the matter would do more harm then good.
"Alright Lucy" Lincoln begrudgingly let it go, As he puts a smile on his face to hopefully out them at ease "Let's
just hurry this up so we can have some fun, There's too much bad energy so lets put it behind us for now."
"Ya, so whats this 'Life changing event' that you called this meeting for?" Ronnie Anne asked, hoping to change
the subject "I hope it's not anything too big because I'm planning to visit soon during the first weekend off
school, I've been dying to beat your high score at Dance Dance Revolution"
Lincoln and his sisters all shared glances at each other, As the rest begin to give them suspicious looks.
"Um about that..." Lincoln takes a deep breath to calm his nerves, he clenches his hand together tightly as he
tells them "I'm leaving Royal Woods tonight"
The affects were instant
Rusty, who was resting his head on his hands with his elbows on the table slipped, hitting the table face first,
Liam was frozen with his mouth agape as Zach fell out the seat. Haiku mouth also was agape as she looks
between Lucy and Lincoln. a1
Ronnie Anne was shocked, frozen as she learned that her best friend and definitely not crush, just said he was
leaving Royal woods, As for Clyde...
He was going through all the stages of grieve. a2
"WHAT!?" They all shouted, causing many people around them to give them strange looks
"Your moving!?" Clyde drops to the floor and grabs onto Lincoln's leg, bawling his eyes out "W-Why are y-you l-
leaving, W-why d-didn't you s-say anything s-sooner! DON'T GO!"
"W-why d-didn't you tell me?" Haiku asked Lucy, They might not show emotions a lot but it does sting since she
thought that Lucy would have told her since they were best friends.
"I-It's not what you think-" Lucy begins to say but was interrupted
"Then what is it?!" Ronnie Anne demanded, She is angry and upset, She is already living far from them with rare
visits but to learn that the gap between them will be wider shakes her to the core. "How can you drop this all of
a sudden?!, Why didn't you mention this sooner"
"How sooner do you want it?, it was decided last night?" Lincoln inform them "And we aren't moving"
"But you just said your leaving Royal woods tonight" Rusty pointed out making Lincoln sigh
"Yes, I'm leaving tonight because I'm going to a new school out of state" Lincoln revealed, It called them down
slightly since they aren't leaving Royal woods permanently but to hear that he's still leaving still worries them.
"W-why?" Clyde asked, Wiping his tears as Lincoln helped him back up "Why do you have to change schools?,
Especially out of state?"
"Because the rest of our 'family' are being a bunch of egotistic, self-centered, overly superstitious jerks" Lucy
spat with her hands clenched making many of Lincoln's friends back up slightly, even Haiku as she's never seen
Lucy like this.
"Their being a bunch of meanies"
"I concur as the rest of out family unit has gone too far as well as shown how idiotic they are."
"Poo-poo" Lily moves her arms and legs aggressively (Adorably) with a frown on her face (cute pout).
Seeing how angry they are about what their family did gives him mixed feelings. On one hand, he's glad they are
angry on his behave but on the other hand, he is worried that it would lead to them resenting them.
Ronnie Anne narrowed her eyes suspicious "What did they do this time?"
The girls flinched from hearing 'this time', they already guessed that Lincoln would come to his friends to vent
his frustrations but to get that as the default reaction makes them feel guilty again.
Lincoln sighs as he saw their expressions, knowing that he will have to have a talk with them after this as he
turns to face his friends "It's a long story"
Ronnie Anne leans back on her bed "I've got time" to which all the others got comfortable in their seats.
So Lincoln begins to tell them what happened, From Lynn threatening him but he still refuses, to the game
where she lost, how she convinced the rest of his family that he's bad luck and then finally to what the rest of the
family did. As he explained all the details he notice them glance at Lucy, Lana and Lisa suspiciously and made
sure to point out that they defended him against the others.
When he got to the part about the school, he left out the part about it being for monsters as he does trust his
friends but he doesn't want the information to leak to protect the ghouls, he also didn't mention about his
powers as he's still isn't comfortable telling others.
When he was done explaining what happened did he notice all the shock, surprised and angry expressions on
their faces.
"THAT IS THE MOST IDIOTIC THING I HAVE EVER HEARD!?" Ronnie Anne yelled through the phone, she was so
loud that Lincoln turned the volume down.
"I know" Lincoln said trying to calm them down "But it's already decided that I'll be leaving tonight"
"But you could just stay with me at my place" Ronnie Anne offered "My family knows you and likes you, if we
explain everything to them they'll be on board"
"Or he could be with me and my dad's" Clyde said with one eyebrow raised as he looks at her "They'll do it and
he'd still be in town"
"Or that ya" Ronnie Anne mutters as her face turns slightly red
Lincoln's other friends began to offer for Lincoln to stay with them, even Haiku with a slight pink color on her
cheeks that makes Lucy give her a proud look.
Lincoln felt touched by their offers "I appreciate the offers but I have to go"
"B-But why" Clyde asked, trying to keep it together
"The school I'm going to actually invited me, I was planning on a way to ask them for me to go but then all this
happened" Lincoln revealed "I really want to go and if I'm in Royal woods then they won't have to suffer as
much"
Haiku raised an eyebrow "What do you mean suffer?"
Lincoln and his sisters smirked as Lisa answers "Lincoln has always been our deterrent, he's always stopped the
chaos before it goes over board so since he won't be available..." Lisa lets that hang in the air as the others catch
on.
"The loud house will turn into a mad house" Zach mutters, feeling a chill run down his spine a2
"Well, more of a mad house then it usually is" Liam corrected as he would rather deal with rabid animals on a
sugar high then Lincoln's sisters.
"Exactly, so that's why I need a favor" Lincoln asked, His friends all looked to him as he continues "While I'm
gone could you guys check up on these four to make sure their alright"
"Of course, I'm sure that my dad's would be ok with them coming over every now and then if they ever want
too." Clyde said, as the others also promised to check up on them for him.
Seeing his friends willing to help him takes a weight off Lincoln's shoulders, the only thing that was making him
hesitant to leave was making sure Lucy, Lana, Lisa and Lily were ok.
"Thanks guys, this means a lot" Lincoln told them
"Just promise to call, ok buddy" Clyde said giving Lincoln a tight hug
"Sure and maybe durning some weekends I could visit" Lincoln promised, loving his
so convenient. "I'd have to ask the headmistress but I think she'd let me come every once in a while
"That'd be nice, I would hate to have to wait a whole school year to see you in person" Clyde said, dreading that
he's going to school without his best friend but decides to keep it together for Lincoln's sake.
"Umm... if you do visit then call me so we can go to the cafe again" Haiku said with a spot of pink on her cheeks
"T-that is if you don't mind I do enjoy your company."
"Of course, I'd love too" Lincoln answered honestly, he can admit that he enjoys going to the cafe with her, it's
peaceful and she's a great friend to talk to.
Lucy shot Haiku a nod in approval as Lana and Lisa giggled while giving Lucy a high five, Seeing what she meant
about Haiku and Lincoln getting together.
The guys at the table raised an eyebrow as they look back and forth between Lincoln and Haiku, Grins started to
break out on their faces as they seem to understand what was happening but it only got better for the spectators
when they noticed Ronnie Anne's expression.
She had her arms crossed and her eyes narrowed as she glares at them through the screen with a suspicious
look, one that made Lincoln's friends hold back on any teasing comments that could possible ruin their fun.
"Ahem " Ronnie Anne coughed to get their attention "So what do you plan to do before you leave to the new
school"
Haiku gives Ronnie Anne a small glare for interrupting them, as the others watch from the sidelines.
"So Link has no clue?" Liam asked in a hush voice to Lincoln's sisters as they all shook their heads no.
"Pffft, Please by the time Link gets back from his new school, the Rust man will how much of a Ladies man he is"
Rusty whispers as he puffs out his chest, making his friends roll their eyes.
The girls shared a small glance as each other as with smirks of their own as they can't wait for them to find out
that Lincoln will be at an all girls school with two of them already crushing on him. (Unknowingly three)
"Well I'm just trying to spend what time I have with everyone here, since I'll be gone by tonight" Lincoln said not
noticing the looks that Haiku and Ronnie Anne give each other.
"Speaking of which, you're on a tight schedule" Haiku said to Lincoln as she scoot closer to him, with a side-eye
look to Ronnie Anne "And since you've told all of us what happened then we should make the most of it before
you leave."
"Wow, things are heating up quick huh" Clyde whispers to the others
"Is it wrong that I find this more entertaining to watch then 'The Dream Boat?" Lana asked in a hush voice to her
sisters.
Lucy shrugs and answers "I'd be wrong for us to intervene or meddle, we've made that mistake before but if it's
us just watching then it should be fine" Lucy said before adding "Plus I find it better to watch as well"
"Of course you would since you've been rooting for Haiku since day one" Lisa stated to which Lucy didn't even
try to deny.
"You do have a point Haiku" Lincoln said, as Haiku shot Ronnie Anne a smug smile, As Ronnie Anne gritted her
teeth to stop herself from making an out burst. "But I can always visit you Ronnie Anne so we can hang out in
person rather then on the phone"
This time, Ronnie Anne had the smug look as Haiku teeth clenched "Sounds like a plan Link, I was getting tired
of only seeing you through the phone."
"Me too" Lincoln said "If we spend anymore time talking to each other on the phone then we already do, We'd
practically be Lori and Bobby" Lincoln joked, missing the subtle double meaning.
"Ha ha... ya that would be so weird" Ronnie Anne said with a nervous laugh then she begins to pretend to hear
something "Oh would you look at that my mom is calling me so I better go bye" She said super fast before
hanging up a1
Lincoln blinked "Well that was strange" He shrugs before turning to the rest of the group as they stared blankly
at him "What?"
"When do you think he'll figure out?" Zach asked openly
"Figure out what?" Lincoln asked but they ignored him
"I can say approximately...I don't have a clue" Lisa admitted, Science can do many things but to tell when or if
something gets through her brothers thick scull about the painfully obvious affections these women show to
him is asking for too much.
"About what?!" Lincoln asked again wondering what their talking about.
"Never you mind elder brother, let us commence in these electro-mechanical entertainment devices" Lisa said
as she straightens her glasses "Street Name: Arcade Games"
Lincoln chuckles "Oh alright, we have all day so lets make it count"
"YA!" They all cheered ready to have some fun.
They Loud sisters didn't have fun...They had a blast! After Lincoln bought everyone a large amount of tokens,
which his friends did asked how he afford it but waves it off and just said he saved his allowance up. They
decided to stay as a group to make the most of their time together as they when from game to game.
They were surprised by how fun it was, Lucy enjoyed the horror games especially a game called 'Dark Escape' as
she appreciates the 3D setting and design as she had fun playing but she also liked watching others attempt to
play the horror games only to screamand quit at the first jump scare.
Like Rusty
Lisa was interested in any games that required intellect, many were easy for her but their were a just as many
that surprised her with the more difficult challenges, Even when she won she would be surprised when their
were higher scores then her as she grins at the challenge of attempting to beat them.
Lana was into all the games the involved animals, garbage and vehicles, she would switch it up every now and
again from one type to the next, though she seemed to like any of the motorbike games to get a feel at being the
driver in a race instead of the pit crew.
Just for the fun of it, Lincoln said he'd go to the bathroom only so he could take a small portable fan out his
turn to make it more fun as she laughed at how much fun it was.
They did have their preferred type of games but they also found enjoyment in may of the other games that were
around and even tried each others choices. Even Lily had fun as she got the highest score in whack-a-mole,
which really hurt some peoples prides when they failed to beat her score.
He even brought them to one of his favorites games: Dance Dance Revolution to which they all had fun with,
they did solos and verses they even made a small tournament out of their group which attracted a small crowed
who were cheering them on.
It was the first time they weren't kicked out of a place for being 'the Louds' , the first time their wasn't fighting or
arguing and for Lincoln...
It was the first time he's seen his sisters have such unbelievable fun
As his sisters all laughed along side his friends, Lincoln did something he hadn't done in a long time...He
laughed, not a chuckle or a snicker
He laughed, A full blown heart felt laugh of pure joy as he gives off a million watts smile, laughing, playing
and...having fun.
But alas, All good things must come to an end
(Few hours later)
The sun was starting to set as the group was in front of the arcade, saying their goodbyes.
"I'm going to miss you buddy" Clyde said as he gave Lincoln one last hug
"I'm not going to be gone for long" Lincoln said reassuringly as he pats Clyde's back "Just you wait until I give
you guys a surprise visit.
"And when will that be?" Clyde asked
"It wouldn't be a surprise if I told you now would it" Lincoln said as they all chuckled
"See ya Link"
"Be safe out there Lincoln"
"Take care"
One by one he watched all his friends ride away on their bikes as they said their goodbyes... all but one.
"Um...Lincoln?" Haiku asked nervously, not making eyes contact
"Yes Haiku?" Lincoln asked but was surprised when she suddenly hugged him tightly, He smiles as he wraps his
arms around her, returning the hug.
Haiku closed her eyes and smiled, feeling content.
"Wow, didn't know you were such a hugger" Lincoln said as a few moments have already passed
Haiku's eyes suddenly opened as her pale face became flushed with embarrassment which only grew worse
when she sees his sisters giving her large grins, especially Lucy who was recording.
"My Mom is waiting so please be safe and call me when you can sorry I got to go bye" Haiku said really fast as
she runs to her mom's car, Who had also recorded the hug as she plans to tease her with.
"Huh, she must really see me as a close friend if she's this upset about me leaving" Lincoln stated as his sisters
all face-palmed, even Lily.
"Alright lets all load up in the car" Lincoln said
They did as they were told as he starts driving them back, The car ride was silent as they were all tense about
saying goodbye. Lincoln parked in front of the house but kept the doors locked.
"Lincoln?, whats wrong?" Lucy asked, she had notice how he didn't unlock the doors and the look in his eyes
means that he has something to say.
"Girls, before I leave i have something important to say, just to get off my chest and to know that I tried" Lincoln
said, making them all sit up straight to listen.
"I get that you girls are mad and upset by whats happened but can you do me one favor?" Lincoln asked
"What is it?" Lucy asked wondering what this is about
"Don't cause any fights with them if on the off chance they do or say something about me, ok" Lincoln told
them.
"But why, if your not their to defend yourself then its our job to do it for you" Lucy said as the girls have already
guess that the others (Mostly Lynn) Would find someway to blame Lincoln just so they don't have to admit their
wrong since they are too stubborn.
"I grateful that you want to, really I am" Lincoln says, fidgeting with his hands as he tries to find the best words
to use "But it would only make things harder for you at home, It's not worth it"
"It is to us" Lucy said, Her hands clenched tightly "Lincoln, You are asking us to keep your secret so we'll keep it,
you want your friends to check up on us so well let them but not defending you when your not their to defend
yourself is something we can't do"
"Look girls I-" Lincoln started to say but was cut off
"No Lincoln, you listen" Lisa demanded "This is non-negotiable, you have always done so much for us, who was
it that comforted Lucy and myself when we were having our breakdowns and succeeded in soothing us?"
"Me but-"
"Who was the one to risk their life to save my life from the gators?" Lana spoke up
"I was but I-"
"And who is the one who it always there to care for us, help us, and we have depended on for so long that we
can't even remember a time without him being their for us as we did nothing but take it for grated!" Lucy
finished with her voice raised slightly breaking with emotions, A thick silence befell them all.
Lincoln's eyes slightly widened as he looks at each of their faces as they tried to avoid eyes contact with him,
Each of their faces show some level of guilt, self-loathing, self-disappointment and regret.
"Look at me, ok look at me" Lincoln says in such a soft voice so soft that it was almost unheard, after a moments
hesitation did they reluctantly turn their gaze upon him. a4
"I know that you care about me" Lincoln told them, he's trying his best t keep his voice steady "You know
that...right?"
"We know" Lucy said with a slightly shaky voice, As of late Lucy has beginning to show more emotions such as
joy, fear, anger, Now it's sadness "But name one time we have ever showed we care or how thankful we are for
you."
"This morning when you all made me breakfast" Lincoln answered quickly "And you had my back against the
rest of the family when they believed i'm bad luck and at the pageant with Pop-Pop"
Lucy chuckles humorlessly " That was all Pop-Pop at the pageant, we only told the truth and when they believed
that your bad luck we couldn't stop them from boarding up your room and selling your stuff"
A single tear travels down Lucy's cheek "For crying out loud we couldn't even stop them from locking you out
and we were in the same room as them" Lucy wipes the tear as she takes a shaky breath "As for breakfast, it's
pathetic that you have to try to use that because you have did it for us so many times that you can make our
favorite eggs in a single pan, not even dad can do that.
Lincoln closed his eyes, letting Lucy get it all out.
"This was the first time we did so, the first time we ever did anything nice for you that wasn't some half-baked
apology for something we ruined for you when you've always went above and beyond to apologies for things
that were not your fault!" Lana and Lisa flinched at that, they had realized but never said it out loud, that they
never put effort into making things up to Lincoln and expect instant forgiveness like the rest of their sisters but
have had the impression that he should always need to do some grand gesture to earn a sliver of their
forgiveness.
They had come to hate how they used to behave towards him, how unfair they were, because of what? he was a
boy and they were girls? That there are 10 of them and only one of Lincoln?
It makes them sick to their stomachs at how they used to think
"s-so tell me one time we've ever shown you that we care, Just once" Lucy finished, She looks down as she fully
believes that he won't be able to same a single time "Because I can't" she thought, feeling defeated as the
silence was all the answer she needed.
Only to be surprised when she feels a pair of arms wrap around her, she looks to see that Lincoln has climbed to
the backseats and is giving her a hug.
"How about right now" Lincoln said, holding her tightly "You being so broken up about this just shows how
much you care, how much I mean to you"
Lincoln begins to softly pat her head as Lucy begins to return the hug.
"(Sni ff le ) it's cheating to use right now as an example" Lucy buries her face into the crook of Lincoln's neck as
she lets out a muffled "Jerk"
Lincoln chuckles "Well, i'm your big brother so I get to cheat with this"
Lucy lets out a shaky laugh as Lana and Lisa begin to join in on the hug.
"Poo poo" Lily said as she tries to reach over to them but is stuck in her carseat.
"Oops, sorry Lily" Lana said as she unbuckles Lily so she can join the hug
After a moment they broke the hug, Lucy wipes her eyes feeling as if a huge weight was lifted off her. "Thank you
Lincoln" Lucy said feeling more grateful then ever to have a brother like Lincoln "But that doesn't mean we
won't defend you from the others"
Lincoln sees the others nod and lets out a sigh before a small smile graced his lips "Alright fine, it's not like I can
stop you so just promise me that you'll be safe and look out for each other."
"We will only promise if you promise us that you'll be safe" Lucy told him.
"Ok" Lincoln agreed, visibly seeing them relax "I promise"
"That's all we need to hear" Lucy said with a smile as they started getting out the car, saying their goodbyes.
"Last hug" Lincoln said pulling them into a tight hug, sharing one last moment with each other.
Even if they felt that the moment could last forever, they let go as Lincoln watched them entire the house.
The Loud house
The place he grew up in, After getting back into the driver seat Lincoln took one last look before gaining a look of
deep sadness but determination as he drives off, not noticing someone watching him leave from the window.
"Bye Linky" Leni whimpers with a devastated, she gentle touched the glass with the palm of her hand as she
remembers the last words he said. Leni doesn't even bother to wipe the tears that fall from her eyes, wishing
that she could have been apart of their hug.
