Chapter 5 - 2 – How Yes to Summon a Demon Lord

2.2

"My world is inhabited by five different races: my race, the demon bastards, the immortal race, the idiot beasts and the unimportant spirits."

Hummm... Was it just me, or did she just show her clear opinion about some of them?

"Amongst them, the spirits are the only ones who don't exist within the material plane."

Hummm... Then how does she know they even exist?

"They inhabit everything, but are nowhere. They follow every movement, every song, every war and every dance, but do not do anything to change the outcome. They possess infinite energy, but do not power anything. What they do and what they want is nothing. Yet they serve as indubitable proof of everything that is… I was once told they were a beautiful existence, alas, I simply don't see any actual meaning in them."

I don't know… It seemed like a very personal speech for something she finds utterly unimportant.

Without giving any second thought to her own words, she continues.

"The beasts are incapable of any rational thoughts and simply wander around doing whatever instinct tells them to."

Hmmm… Just like animals then? Or are they just stupid and egoistical people? Pretty sure I've seen some who acted just like that lol.

"But their lack of intelligence shouldn't be underestimated. What they lack in rationality, they make up for in survivability. Forests, mountains, oceans and volcanoes. Not even death is beyond their reach. Truly, left to their own standards, they have evolved to be more than what was imagined… Alas, their solitary lives pose no actual threat for the whole."

For some reason, I almost thought she felt proud for a second there. Even though she called them stupid, that was certainly some speech she gave. Maybe she just likes to talk.

"The only races that have created their own civilizations and have divided the world amongst themselves are my race, the immortal race and…"

She makes a brief pause. I almost think her face is expressing some sort of hatred or disgust for a second there. Though I have no idea where this impression even comes from, since her face has remained neutral this whole time ever since I arrived.

Anyways, I thought she might've been holding herself back from swearing, but it must've been just my imagination.

She soon continues: "Those fucking demons."

Fu---?

T-that is some impressive showing of lack of self-control to say the least. She paused for such a long time trying to restrain herself and still said it in the end…

She doesn't seem to be very good at restraining herself…

Just a wild guess here, but I think their problems lie with the demon race, as per usual.

"Usually the races would live in harmony with each other and respect their independencies. But from time to time the greedy demons will search to expand their own territories by waging war against me."

Instead of attacking the immortal race, it seems the demons chose to attack her… Race? She didn't even mention what is the nomenclature for her own race now, did she? Human--- might not apply, since we're in a different world after all, right? Even though we look so similar… Unless, do they actually only refer to themselves as 'my race'?

Anyways, do the demons only choose to attack them and not the immortals? Or maybe both at the same time? Or maybe the immortals are nomads or something, so their territory isn't a specified location, but more fluid…? Or… Maybe I should gather more info instead of endlessly hypostatizing…

"Unfortunately, the difference in war potential between my race and theirs is too great. My race can barely maintain their numbers and survive without external help... Much less, protect all of my territory. As such, my only option is to summon heroes from different worlds in order to help me."

I might not look like it, but I'm not a first rate fighter… Nor second nor third… Actually, I'm also pretty sure it is quite visible when looking at me… I mean, I can't even beat my sister when we're fighting for the remote, and she is just a kid… Though in my defense, scratch is a pretty powerful attack at the start of any P@kem@n, right?

What I mean is, I must assume she will give us some kind of cheat abilities, like those weapons the other people were holding… Right?

…Or will I have to kill demons using only a biodegradable bag…? That certainly could make it as one of those novel recent ideas for isekais… Or if I had a hundred more cakes maybe I could give them some diabetes…

"Please! I know how inconvenient this must be for you all, still I request your help, heroes!"

How can someone make such a cute expression---!? Is what I would like to say, but I'm pretty sure her face remained a deadpan through her whole speech… She's just passively way too beautiful, I guess. She's even shining, it's hard not to be impressed. Now this here is how you make a request, unlike a certain pervert who keeps stalking me in my dreams...

But if 'that' wasn't her, then what was 'it'…?

"Of course we will help you however we can!!! Isn't that right!?"

Said the normie, while excitedly looking back and forth between her and the rest of us...

Next it was the plain, timid boy's turn.

"T-t-that's true! I-if we're the only o-ones who can do something about this, t-then we can't refuse! B-but, I-I don't have anything of s-special… D-did we receive some kind of ability w-when w-we arrived here?"

That boy who seemed so intimidated when I arrived asked hesitantly… And somewhat excitedly as well it seems. Well, I have to admit it is kind of hard not to get excited about this situation, especially if you've ever played or read any such stories... Still, he did well to gather such courage and speak in front of everyone in this odd situation. He looks like a nice kid… But, I wonder, just how old these other "heroes" are…?

Wait, I should gather more info for now... The kid made a good question I won't have to ask now. This kind of thing happens a lot during class, huh?

All hail the people who ask questions you yourself didn't want to ask!

Anyways, the others also seem interested in what the shinning woman has to say about this.

"Of course, we would not ask of you an impossible task, heroes. If you will, recite 'status' to understand your current abilities better."

Classic!!!

C-caham! I mean…

Either way, independently of what the current situation in this world might be… Kidnaping me to a different world, while ignoring my own situation, is a little… Even more, asking me out of nowhere to fight in a war I have no concrete knowledge about… That's… Just not cool. Not at all.

No, ok, being called to fight in an isekai is still cool as heck. But it just doesn't feel right for me right now.

My first priority is to return home. Having Tsubaki think that I abandoned her after our parents already passed away won't be good for her mental health… Her san gauge would probably drop to critical levels… Especially since she had already been looking more lonely recently… Being a teenage girl raised just by stupid me must've been hard enough as it is. Could it be that something else also happened recently? It's so frustrating to know you don't know anything, even while having always lived together…

If only I wasn't so stupid… I know I'm weird and antisocial… But if only I wasn't so stupid, I know I could find a good solution for our problems…

Instead, I'm here.

So I'm sorry for this bright woman – a Goddess in appearance only, surely – and her people, but I really must find a way to go back.

I'd better check my status for now, though. I don't know how to go back yet, so I might end up spending some time here... Again, first things first, I should gather as much information about this world as I can.

But, if by chance my stats seem to be actually good, it might be faster to just actually defeat the leader of the demons and ask to be sent back. Of course, during my journey I would inevitably be praised as a legendary hero, and get my own harem! Uhehehe…

Of course not! Goddamn it, me! Just focus for a minute!

Eluding myself I could be an isekai hero… It would be better to just pray I don't end up being a complete mob character, who would end up dying off screen…

""Status.""

We all say in unison.

After a quick read...

Hmmm... I imagined my stats would appear in numbers, or like 'A' or 'S' rank or something, but it looks more like an actual description… I can't understand most of what I saw, but it doesn't seem so bad. "High' and 'Advanced' seem promising. Also, even though there was an 'Incapable', there was a also a 'Godly' something, so it must even out in the end…

"…"

Wait a second…

Could someone else please tell me what the fuck was written on those last parts again…?
