Chapter 27 - Chapter 27: Special Grade

"Huh? You wanna be a sorcerer*?"

Sawa Gojo strolled out of the Tombs of the Star Corridor just in time to hear Satoru Gojo's exasperated shout.

"Come on, you've got cursed energy but no technique. Becoming a sorcerer's a pipe dream!"

Riko Amanai puffed up, defiant. "Then I'll use my cursed energy to boost my body and train in hand-to-hand!"

Satoru's face twitched. "Man, you're stubborn as hell!"

Sawa, however, nodded approvingly at Riko's resolve.

Having cursed energy without a technique and relying on physical enhancement was a valid path—think Yuji Itadori or Atsuya Kusakabe.

But as a Star Plasma Vessel like Yuki Tsukumo, who wielded the powerful "Star Rage" technique, it was odd for Riko to lack an innate technique.

Sawa pondered, then spoke to Riko, mid-argument with Satoru. "If you're serious about being a sorcerer, I know someone perfect to train you."

"But think hard. Becoming a sorcerer means kissing a normal life goodbye and dealing with cursed spirits daily."

Riko nodded firmly.

This ordeal had taught her how powerless she felt without strength.

As an ordinary person, fine—but as a rare Star Plasma Vessel, even escaping this crisis didn't guarantee safety from future threats.

Plus…

Riko stole a glance at Satoru.

Being a sorcerer seemed kinda cool.

"Alright, Yaga-sensei, I'm entrusting Riko's enrollment to you!"

"Oh, and Misato—she's Riko's family. No cursed energy, but she can take a clerical role at the school."

Misato Kuroi, reluctant to part with Riko, beamed. "Thank you, Mr. Sawa Gojo! You're a good man!"

Masamichi Yaga's face darkened. "I'm doomed to slave away for my students, aren't I?"

"By the way, Sawa, what'd Tengen say?"

Suguru Geto asked, a hint of worry in his brow.

Sawa's stunt was massive—slaughtering non-sorcerers and unleashing Purple on the higher-ups.

Keisuke Zenin, a Zenin elder, was vaporized on the spot, not a speck left.

Luckily, Sawa held back, so the others only suffered severe injuries, recoverable in three to five months.

But killing and assaulting jujutsu higher-ups? That stain wouldn't wash out.

Sawa scratched his head. "Uh… Tengen and I had a friendly, harmonious chat. She's dropping the matter."

"She's found another way to delay evolution, so no more Vessel assimilation needed."

"As for the higher-ups, after that scare, they'll probably play ball. If they don't, I'll just… reason with them again."

"Friendly? Harmonious? Reason?"

Suguru's eye twitched.

Knowing Sawa, he didn't buy a word of it.

Sawa huffed. "Hey, Suguru! What's that look? Is my rep that bad?"

Suguru turned away. "Sawa, self-awareness is a virtue."

Satoru chimed in, grinning. "Yeah, bro, your style's more like crapping on Tengen's head!"

Sawa's smile didn't reach his eyes as he cracked his knuckles. "Suguru! Satoru! Think mastering Reverse Cursed Technique means you've caught up to me?"

"Well…"

Satoru slid his sunglasses down, revealing azure eyes.

Fresh off mastering Reverse Cursed Technique, he was brimming with confidence—maybe a bit too much.

Sure, Sawa had it too, but with Suguru, they might just overpower him!

Satoru and Suguru exchanged a knowing glance and smirked, Suguru quietly drawing Yurei.

Sawa chuckled. "Looks like you two are itching for a beatdown!"

"Technique Reverse: Red!"

"Technique Reverse: Red!"

"Technique Reverse: Grant!"

BOOM!

Yaga hurriedly shielded Misato and Riko, hustling them out of the blast zone.

Behind them, mini mushroom clouds rose, and Yaga's face was blacker than soot.

"Those three punks!"

Inside the Tombs, Tengen, just dozing off, jolted awake.

"Earthquake?"

As Sawa predicted, the higher-ups caved.

Or rather, they were terrified.

Sawa's Purple had carved a kilometers-long chasm right under their noses.

That absurd power transcended sorcery.

And it wasn't just Sawa—their brawl outside the Tombs showed Satoru and Suguru matched his level.

Everyone knew the trio's unbreakable bond. Crossing Sawa meant facing three beyond-normal monsters.

The thought alone chilled the higher-ups' spines.

That's suicide!

Technically, Sawa's impact was minimal.

Tengen no longer needed a Vessel to stall evolution.

The non-sorcerers Sawa killed were Pan-Star Cultists—radical zealots the higher-ups didn't care for. Dead and done.

The injured higher-ups were too embarrassed to admit a first-year Jujutsu High student one-shotted them in their old age.

The Gojo clan elders, those sly foxes, had dodged the chaos entirely, not a scratch on them.

As for Keisuke Zenin's death, the Zenin clan could only swallow their pride.

Toji had massacred their kin before, and did they chase him? No—because they couldn't.

In the cafeteria, Sawa savored his sugary tomato-egg stir-fry, Suguru slurped soba, and Satoru, done with his meal, demolished a pile of hagi cakes.

Riko and Misato gawked, convinced Satoru's sugar intake was lethal.

Yaga slammed three files on the table.

"You three are now Special Grade!"

Special Grade wasn't just a nod to their strength—it was the higher-ups' white flag.

"Oh~"

Sawa and Suguru mumbled vaguely, while Satoru kept munching hagi cakes.

Yaga's fists clenched, knuckles cracking.

"This is Special Grade! Get serious!"

"Uh… what's Special Grade?"

Riko raised her hand.

Yaga explained, "Special Grade is the highest sorcerer rank. It requires strength far beyond Grade 1, often with large-scale destructive techniques."

"Or, rare, highly valuable special abilities can qualify."

"With these three, the jujutsu world now has four Special Grade sorcerers."

Riko blinked, stunned.

She knew Sawa's trio was strong, but this strong?

It was like learning your neighbor suddenly became the world's richest person…
