252. Chapter 252: Exactly Like a Scene from a Horror Movie
All the students inside were Supes. Like Starlight's Mother, their parents had signed contracts with Vought when they were very young and injected them with Compound V.
In Xia Shang's view, they were like seeds planted by Vought, successfully taking root and sprouting after ten or twenty years.
Getting up to pour a cup of coffee, Xia Shang returned to his computer. He placed his hands on the keyboard, typed "Godolkin University" into the search bar, and pressed enter.
The first things that appeared were the official website of Godolkin University and its unique school emblem. The emblem had a dark blue background, with a small section of the Earth visible at the bottom. Above the Earth were two golden statues, a man and a woman, kneeling halfway towards the left and right respectively. One held a torch, the other a sword. Clearly, they represented Homelander and Queen Maeve, and their poses suggested they were guarding the Earth.
However, there seemed to be a hidden meaning within it.
"Are they trying to say they are above the Earth?" Xia Shang chuckled softly.
He picked up the coffee on the desk and took a sip, then clicked on the official website. He had to admit, the layout was quite exquisite.
The personal profile of the Principal, Indira Shetty, was on the homepage. He scrolled down, and below were profiles of professors and some honorary students. However, in the honorary students section, Xia Shang saw a few familiar figures: A-Train with his thumbs up, Queen Maeve holding a sword, and The Deep with a silly grin.
They were all former students of Godolkin University who had earned Vought's favor with their excellent grades and later joined The Seven.
This made them idols for almost all the students.
But Xia Shang's focus wasn't on this. A special ranking system on the page caught his attention.
This ranking system covered all students at Godolkin University, including freshmen and senior "old hands."
"First place, third-year student, Luke Riordan, with the nickname Golden Boy. His superpowers are Superhuman Strength and Full Body Ignition." Xia Shang clicked on Luke's avatar, scrolling the mouse while drinking coffee.
"That's a bit interesting. I just don't know how high the temperature gets when he ignites. If it can reach several thousand degrees, it might have some fusion value."
Next, Xia Shang looked at the student ranked second.
Unexpectedly, the student ranked second was Asian.
"Third-year student, Jordan Li. His superpowers are... what?" Xia Shang's left hand holding the coffee paused slightly. He said in surprise, "Can freely switch between different genders, possesses considerable Strength and Defense, and can also release Plasma Blasts."
"That's quite a stack of buffs," Xia Shang put down his coffee, rubbed his chin, and mused, "If they also had gender dysphoria, were an extreme animal rights activist, and suffered from severe depression, it would be perfect. Too bad they're Asian; if they were a minority, they could probably run for governor."
The student ranked third was a Black student... a second-year student, Andre Anderson. His Father is a famous Superhero under Vought, Polarity. Although he hasn't joined The Seven, he is currently the protector of a city, with fame second only to The Seven. Andre Anderson actually inherited his Father's Superpower, the ability to control metal, which reminded Xia Shang of Magneto.
However, this guy's Ability shouldn't be very strong, otherwise, he wouldn't be ranked only third.
As for the students after that, Xia Shang looked through them one by one, but mainly focused on the top ten students.
A female student named Cate Dunlap, her Superpower piqued Xia Shang's interest.
"She can control others through touch with her hands... looks a bit like a Psychic Ability." Xia Shang carefully browsed the rankings again. To be honest, the true extent of their Superpowers could only be known after encountering them.
Based on his understanding of Stan Edgar, this guy arranging him into Godolkin University definitely had ill intentions. Although he hadn't found anyone whose Superpower could threaten him yet, sometimes that's how it is; a single oversight could lead to an unexpected downfall. Arrogance was not his character. If there was some heaven-defying Ability user he overlooked, his situation would become quite dangerous, especially Psychic Ability.
He didn't have good precautionary measures against this.
"Looks like I need to remedy this flaw quickly," Xia Shang frowned.
Whether it was the Marvel Universe, the DC Universe, or other worlds, countless powerhouses have failed because of this. Think about it, even someone as strong as Magneto couldn't resist Professor X's Mind Control, let alone him. If he went to the Mutant Universe and met Professor X, Xia Shang estimated that all his life experiences would be browsed by Professor X like flipping through a book. So he had to quickly make up for this shortcoming. In the future, when he met Psychic Ability powerhouses, he could at least buy a moment's respite.
Not be completely without the ability to resist.
Xia Shang lightly tapped the desk a few times with the tip of his right forefinger. He suddenly thought of a suitable Candidate: former Payback member, Mindstorm.
However, to lure this person out, he must first find Soldier Boy. Because after Payback disbanded, this guy disappeared without a trace. For a while, Xia Shang really couldn't find him, only knowing he was hiding in a remote mountain forest. As for his hiding place, perhaps Soldier Boy knew. Even if Soldier Boy didn't know, it didn't matter. At worst, he would spend some effort searching the entire United States for him. As long as he was still alive, he would definitely leave traces.
Xia Shang suddenly stopped tapping.
In an instant! His figure instantly disappeared from the spot. When he reappeared, he was already holding several tubes of fruit-green serum.
......
"Fantastic! The Street is full of protesters holding 'Homelander Go Home' banners. It looks like their destination is Vought Tower. I bet Homelander is in a terrible mood right now." Hughie, who had just gotten off work and returned home, took off his suit jacket and casually hung it on the hanger.
"Starlight?"
Not getting a response, Hughie couldn't help but stick his head out and look towards the Living Room.
"Aren't you home today?"
But the voice that sounded immediately after made him freeze on the spot.
"Long time no see..." Xia Shang, sitting on the sofa, slowly turned his head to look at Hughie, the corner of his mouth slightly curved upwards, saying, "Hughie."
This scene was exactly like a scene from a horror movie.
Hughie instantly felt a chill down his spine!
"I brought you some good stuff this time. Want to try it?"
