Chapter 8 - Magic Tutor

Once Leonard changed into his usual clothing, he was finally relieved of the heavy weight that had been pressing on him.

"Please tell me I don't have to keep wearing these formal clothes. They are such a nuisance." Leonard exhaled softly.

Back then, a simple well-fitted suit was all he ever needed. There was no need for such fancy garments or decoration whatsoever.

Spencer could only smile bitterly in response to Leonard's complaint.

"Well, the garment and decoration could be lessened, but the crown can be altered in appearance." He lightly said and picked up the crown prince's coronet carefully.

With a few simple mana injections and magic modifications, the appearance started to change into a bracelet.

"Here, Crown Prince, wear this on your right wrist. This item is not just a crown, but a high-tier defensive item." Spencer explained.

Leonard calmly extended his right arm to let Spencer put it on for him. He wasn't trying to be lazy, but pondering over the coronet item.

'That father of mine didn't even bother to explain this feature to me. Could it be that he already knew Spence would assist me?' The more he wondered, the more wary Leonard became.

Being a commoner was tough, but being of royalty was even more laughable.

Those who aren't royalty or belong to the top hierarchy always held the misconception that they have everything. But what they didn't know was that such people at the top worried even more than them.

At this stage, one small mistake could easily result in all their hard work crumbling into pieces. The more one owned something, the more they desperately tried to protect and safeguard it.

"Oh, right, your assistant, Curtis mentioned something forming a magic circle?" Leonard suddenly recalled the conversation with Curtis and brought it up.

"Ah, yes, Crown Prince is now aged 15 and can finally form his first magic circle. Although I'm quite high in magic, I'm not suitable to teach you." Spencer clasped his hands and hurriedly retrieved an orb.

After a few chants, the orb unleashed a list of magic tutors. The names, faces, the number of magic circles formed, and their teaching certificates were all shown.

Leonard's eyes widened slightly. 'Huh, this is even more advanced than PowerPoint slide shows.'

The list felt very realistic, almost as if he was facing each of them physically.

"The Crown Prince can take his time to browse through the list. It's fine even if you want to recruit multiple." Spencer explained softly.

"Each candidate on the list is screened extensively and once recruited. They would go through further background checks and investigation."

"How many people are on the list?" Leonard asked. His eyes were starting to get dizzy from browsing so many people. Yet there didn't seem to be an end to it.

Spencer closed his eyes and calculated silently. In the end, he could only give an estimated answer, "A little bit over 3,000 people."

Thud!

Leonard nearly fell to the ground.

3,000 people was called a little bit over?

What kind of joke was that?

"W-Wait a second, what's the population number of Aldros Empire?" Leonard asked hesitantly.

The previous Leonard was always cooped up in his palace. Hence, he was unaware of a lot of geographical elements of the world.

"Replying to the Crown Prince, there are over 800 million people in the territories of Aldros Empire alone. As for the Valdoria Continent, the number could be billions and we would have no concrete answer. The census has a hard time calculating them due to many difficulties."

Upon hearing the population number, Leonard understood why Spencer said 3,000 so nonchalantly. When compared to a staggering 800 million, the number 3,000 was really trivial.

"Is there a way to filter the list of candidates?" Leonard pointed at the list and asked. It would be impossible to view all 3,000 in a short span of time.

"Of course," Spencer quickly nodded. "May I know what type of magic tutor the Crown Prince preferred? Such as the gender, their specialty, or their reputation."

Specialty refers to a specific type of magic. The most common type that people always thought about was offense and defense. However, there was a more in-depth analysis of these two types.

In offense, one could have many different styles and ways to confront or attack their opponents.

"Just randomize it and have 5 chosen. Then I'll test those 5 myself." Leonard waved his hand and decided to leave it up to fate.

Nodding, Spencer had no objection and simply snapped his fingers.

Soon, the list began to shuffle and 5 candidates were shot forward.

Leonard stepped forward and inspected the candidates chosen by fate.
