Chapter 4 - New Toys

...In the middle of the college in the auditorium, a group of thirty students and a few teachers hide from the monsters.

"What are we going to do. We can't wait for someone to come save us, and we need food soon," a beautiful professor with short white hair and a body that all the students lusted over said with nervousness.

"We have to send a small group of three people to gather supplies. It's the only way," another male professor with short blond hair and a fit build said

"No, we can't. How can we ask anyone to risk their lives?" another male teacher with a short, stubby build and balding head spoke.

"Don't worry me, Coach Anderson already said we would go, we just need one more person," the blond-haired teacher replied

"Wait, you can't go, it's dangerous, I can't lose you," another female teacher with long black hair in a bun spoke as she clung onto the arm of the blonde-haired teacher.

"Val, we can't ask the students to go. We should be the ones to go. Don't worry, we will be safe," the blond-haired man replied with a gentle smile.

"That's right, I will bring Alex back safe," Coach Anderson said proudly.

"Alright, we just need one more person to go with us," Alex added.

"I'm willing to go," a student spoke, causing the teacher to turn around.

Standing before them was a large, built student with short brown hair wearing a baseball uniform.

"Derek, we can't take you, you're a student," Alex replied

"Look, I may be a student, but I'm also an adult, and it's my decision. We need people to go, and we can't make someone who doesn't want to go leave," Derek replied

"Derek is a good kid, strong and has good instincts, he will be fine with us. But remember nothing unnecessary. Supplies that's it," Anderson spoke, placing a hand on Derek's shoulder

"I got it,"

"Alright, let's get going. Let's stop by the gymnasium first. We might be able to find some useful things to protect ourselves with," Alex spoke as they walked to the door.

"Alex, wait, please!" Val begged as she saw her husband walk away

"Don't worry, Val, I will make it back to you," Alex said, caressing her cheek before planting a kiss on her forehead.

Leaving the auditorium, the trio made their way towards the gymnasium.

...

"That makes four. With this axe from the first one, killing these Orcs is easy now," Kain said, pulling the axe out of the skull of an orc.

"Yeah, easy for you," Angelica said out of breath while backing away from another dead orc.

"Don't worry, we will find some people, they will be easier to kill than Orcs," Kain joked.

"Stop joking with people's lives," Angelica said with a pissed tone.

"I'm not joking, but whatever you say," Kain sighed as he kept walking forward.

Continuing forward, it did not take long for them to arrive at the gymnasium. But unlike what they expected, it was surrounded by a group of four orcs, two holding axes, one holding a club, and the last one equipped with a giant bow.

"Well, it seems like I'm going to have to wait on my sword," Kain sighed, looking at the group.

"Oh, what happened to all of the arrogance a moment ago?" Angelica asked in a mocking tone

"Shut up before I use you as bait," Kain said, looking down at her with an emotionless expression.

Hearing his tone and seeing his expression, Angelica became slightly nervous, lowering her head.

As Kain was thinking of a way to get past the orcs, he saw a group of three people hiding behind a car.

"Would you look at those new toys to play with?" Kain laughed.

"What are you planning?" Angelica asked

"Just follow me, this will be fun." Kain said

Backing away from the group of Orcs, Kain began making his way around towards the group. Walking behind the building they came from, he snuck up to them while hiding around the corner.

"What are we going to do?" Derek asked

"Don't worry, I will gain their attention and lead them away. You guys grab what we need and come back here." Alex replied

"That's stupid, there are four of them and one has a bow," Anderson added.

"Don't worry, there are enough cars and trees for me to hide behind," Alex replied

"Wait, I think I can help you," Kain said, walking from behind the wall.

Turning around, the group saw Kain and Angelica, both holding weapons and covered in blood.

"People! What are you doing out here?" Alex asked

"Trying to survive, we were making our way to the gymnasium to regroup with our friends," Kain said, making up a lie.

"Wait, people are hiding there? Do you know if my girlfriend Sofia is there?" Derek asked

"I don't know, but it's a group of fifty of us. We sent out a party of ten, but that's when we got separated by the orc group," Kain replied

"How did you get that weapon?" Anderson asked

"Got it from an orc we killed. Since I'm the only one strong enough to hold it, it was given to me."

"How can you use that. It's almost as large as you?" Derek asked

"I awoke. Are you guys not awakened?" Kain asked

"What do you mean?" Anderson asked

"After killing the monster, you will awake, allowing you to become stronger by killing more of them," Kain explained.

"Really, something like that has happened... incredible," Alex replied

"Yeah, so instead of you, me, and Angelica can lead them away while you guys make it back to the group," Kain offered

"Wait, but we have our own group back at the auditorium. We came here to get supplies," Alex explained.

"You said a group. If we can combine our groups, we will have a better chance at survival," Derek said

"You're right, but first we need to deal with those orcs," Kain said

"Are you sure about you guys leading them away?" Anderson asked

"Yeah, right now we are over twice as fast as a normal person, they won't catch us," Kain replied with a confident smile.

(What are you doing, Angelica? Warn them. Tell them its a trap, save them) Angelica yelled to herself as she watched Kain lie to them

"Alright, you guys ready?" Kain said

"Yes and thank you," Alex said with a warm smile

"You don't have to thank me," Kain said as he stood up.

With Angelica following behind him, he ran towards the orcs while yelling. Seeing the two humans, the Orcs grinned before getting closer. But before they could reach them, they started running away.

Following behind the humans, the Orcs left the gymnasium door unguarded. Seeing this as their chance, Alex and the other two ran towards the gym with a newfound vigor.
