Chapter 6 - Chapter 6: "I Just Wanted Bread.."

---

All I wanted… was to buy some bread.

Not a war.

Not a prophecy.

Not a crying noble begging me to bless his baby.

Just. Bread.

---

Step 1: Go to the Market

The village of Dernholm was small and sunny, smelling like honey-baked apples. I tried to blend in like a normal guy, but that plan lasted about five seconds.

Someone shouted, "It's him! The One Word Wonder!"

Suddenly, I was surrounded by villagers.

"Tell my crops to grow!"

"Command my cow to give more milk!"

"Make my husband stop snoring!"

I panicked and muttered, "Grow, milk, and shut up!"

They bowed in perfect obedience, as if I'd just summoned world peace.

Step 2: Trying to Take a Bath

Later, I tried to relax in the inn's bath.

The innkeeper knocked.

"Sir Yes King, I brought rose-scented water! Hope it pleases your divine skin!"

Then his daughter burst in.

"I cleaned your boots! Please order me to clean something else!"

I dunked my head underwater and screamed silently.

---

Step 3: The Ice Cream Incident

I wandered into a sweet shop and asked for one scoop of strawberry ice cream. Simple, right?

Wrong.

The moment I said, "One scoop, please,"

the owner and customers around me instantly started rushing to make the best ice cream ever.

"Yes! Strawberry is the finest choice!" one said, grabbing fresh berries.

"Let me fetch the cream at once!" shouted another.

All of them arguing about how to impress me.

Meanwhile, I just stood there, wide-eyed and overwhelmed.

The ice cream stayed perfectly still on the counter, but the people? They were doing backflips.

---

Enter: Aelira

She found me sitting outside, sticky, exhausted, and covered in petals from a surprise "Yes King Appreciation Parade" that exploded while I was eating lunch.

Crossing her arms, she smirked.

"Rough day, Oh Great Yes King?"

"Also what's with the crown?" She continued.

"Don't start," I groaned.

She raised a brow. "You used your powers on the villagers instead of the ice cream?"

"It's the only way," I said. "Objects don't listen."

She laughed — an actual laugh. First time I'd heard her do that.

"Maybe I misjudged you," she said. "You're not dangerous. You're just a walking headache."

"Glad to bring joy wherever I go," I muttered.

She tossed me a piece of bread.

"Here. Figured you'd never buy it normally."

I caught it.

"…Thanks."

She sat beside me.

"You're still figuring it out. But this?" She gestured to the chaos around us. "This is what real power looks like in the hands of a dumbass."

I bit into the bread.

And smiled.

That Night

We sat on the inn roof, watching stars blink into place.

No speeche

s. No commands. Just quiet.

Maybe… this world wasn't so bad.

At least I had bread now.
