Ezra crashed into a wooden house with a loud thud. Dust flung into the air like an intoxicating cloud as it spread across the area.
"You see daughter, the was no need to worry," Yama said standing up straight, "though I do wonder how my men fell to her."
Ezra lay bare on a pile of broken planks of wood and broken ceramic. Her gasps of breath were rigid and hoarse as her chest visibly staggered going up and down.
The broken ribs sticking out of her chest were mainly to blame for this. She tried moving her arm but the pain shot in her chest stopped her.
Ezra slowly moved her head and bared through the pain to take a look at Yama. He had his back turned to him addressing the others.
Fucken old man. My chest hurts like literal shit.
She tried looking around once more in search of her axe. She found it, it was just a hair's breath away from her reach.
Well fucken great I can't even reach it. To make shit worse I'm too injured to activate my calamity.
'Wow. You really are pitiful aren't little demon, you're forgetting you can't afford to lose right,'
Ezra paused as if reflecting on the words of the voice. She clenched her teeth tightly and reached for her axe.
Through the unbearable pain that felt like a thousand nails stabbing through her body she managed to grab her axe.
Her breathing became heavier as she rested from the pain.
'What's the matter now? Are you finally giving up little demon?'
With all the energy left and with her new found will she pushed forward. Ignoring all the pain Ezra got up to her feet and dragged herself out of the destroyed house.
"Never... I can't... give up... I can't.... afford to lose!!!!" Ezra yelled at the top of her punctured lungs.
Ezra's body began glowing bright gold as golden energy soared into the skies.
Yama ubruptly turned but was still caught off guard by Ezra. With a massive swing of her fist she sent Yama flying back.
"Father," Satel yelled out as she summoned a huge green circle.
A huge tentacle sprung out of the circle and caught Yama before he could fly too far and it brought him back.
Yama adjusted his white and red Tai chi suit and turned to Satel. He gave her a light pat on the head.
"Thank you daughter, but now I have to deal with whatever the hell I'm looking at," he said staring at Ezra.
Ezra stood across from them though her body was largely different. She was much taller and thinner than before.
She now had large white angelic wings sprouting out her back. Ribs broke through her chest but very little blood flowed from them.
"What's the problem, seeing ghosts," She said with a large unholy grin, her voice bellowed like an unholy beast.
Yama rolled up his sleeves as he turned and walked towards Ezra.
Ezra followed suit with her axe in hand and a gleeful smile on her face.
"I must commend the fact you still charge to your own death with such confidence," she said, licking her axe.
