Chapter 4 - CHAPTER 4: THE TRAITOR'S MASK

Blood seeped through my shirt as I stumbled into CEO Li's office, leaving crimson fingerprints on the glass door. The files hit his desk with a slap that echoed through the silent room.

Liu Chen has been with me for 10 years… How could I not see this?

-CEO Li's hands shook as he examined a surveillance photo: Liu Chen handing Victor Lee a **bloodied knife** in an alley. The timestamp: *One hour after my sister's last heartbeat.*

My reflection in his office window looked ghostly—hair matted with sweat, eyes wild like the night she died.

The door burst open. Maya stood there, her designer blouse pristine, **fake tears** cutting through her makeup.

*"Lusi!"* She rushed forward, arms outstretched. *"I've been searching everywhere—"*

I let her hug me. Smelled her **sweet jasmine perfume**—the same scent I'd noticed on Victor's collar at the funeral.

*"Maya—who cried with me at my sister's funeral… helped plan the murder."*

I slid the evidence across the table: **Maya's bank records**. A **500,000 RMB deposit** the day before the murder. Memo line: *"Consulting Fee."*

- Her breath hitched. The tears stopped mid-track.

Liu Chen kicked open the door, gun raised—but CEO Li moved like lightning. His antique revolver cocked against Maya's temple.

*"You have three seconds,"* he growled, *"to explain why your fingerprints are on the murder weapon."*
