Jason's body was broken. Soul frayed. Breath shallow.

He could barely feel his fingers. The pain from the soul attack still echoed through every nerve. His knees threatened to buckle again, and the ringing in his ears refused to fade.

And yet… he stood.

Glaring ahead.

The Lord Demon across from him hadn't moved, simply watching with a cruel, entertained gaze as his soul-flame spell circled again—nine hellish orbs, each churning like black holes of spiritual annihilation.

Jason clenched his fists.

"I need time," he whispered under his breath.

Then—a thought sparked.

The system.

The souls.

He'd fought fifty Lesser Demons and seven full-fledged demons earlier. Their deaths had fed his reservoir—souls earned and banked.

"System," he muttered in his mind, his eyes locked on the swirling flames. "Level up. Now."

In an instant, his body surged.

Cursed energy roared like a typhoon within him—his senses sharpened, muscles tensed, mind expanded. Every flicker of motion around him now played out in high definition. Even the flickering embers in the wind moved in slow motion.

He felt it—the increase. Speed, power, control. Everything jumped.

A second too late would've meant death. But now?

Now he was faster.

As the first barrage of nine soul-consuming flames screamed toward him, Jason's foot slid back. He weaved through the gaps like a phantom, body contorting midair, flipping, dashing, diving, pivoting between bursts of fire. Each flame passed within inches of his body—but none touched him.

He landed in a crouch, skidding back through broken rock, panting.

"Hoh… Looks like you've gotten faster," the Lord Demon mused, standing untouched atop his infernal platform. A wide grin spread across his face, demonic fangs glinting.

"Interesting… You are indeed worth it! I haven't had this much fun in a battle in centuries!"

Jason wiped blood from his lip but said nothing.

Then, as if rewarding himself for the spectacle, the Lord raised both arms.

Five rings of cursed fire bloomed behind him.

Each one formed nine soul flames.

Jason's pupils shrank.

Forty-five…

Flames detonated toward him in synchronized waves. Jason's body vanished in a flicker—his movement skill Spiderweb dragging him along threads of cursed energy as he danced between stone and fire, flipping above arcs of flame, diving through the chaos.

"Can't block them. Too many. Keep moving. Keep moving—"

Each flame passed with burning fury. The twelfth grazed his shoulder. The twentieth skimmed his side. By the thirty-fourth, Jason had sweat dripping from his temple, lips curled in frustration.

He landed on one knee, panting. Even enhanced, this wasn't sustainable.

The Lord laughed, amused. "Are you going to dodge forever, hmm?"

Jason's head twitched toward the sound.

"I'm getting bored," the Lord continued. "You made me interested for a moment—but now all I see is you being too afraid to face me."

He spread his arms wide—and behind him, one new ring of fire formed.

Only nine flames.

But they were larger than before. The heat alone twisted the very air. Their color had shifted—from burning purple to bottomless, abyssal black.

Jason's eyes widened. Something inside him screamed.

The Lord's tongue danced again, darker now, thick with malice.

"Hrl iepb fpgjnjv zbmali... Pbhnamhl dmjhl'i ianbl." (The Soul Burning Flames...Ultimate Dante's Smile)

The nine black flames hovered, thrumming with power.

Jason stood, heart pounding. "All right…" he whispered. "I guess I have to risk it."

He extended his left hand. Then his right.

His fingers slowly pulled apart—each one glowing red, burning like molten metal. From his two left fingers, flame began to gather, swirling and rising in a quiet spiral.

On his right, his hand drew back—shaking slightly—as the cursed energy focused into a single point between his thumb and middle finger.

The flames twisted tighter. Hotter. Fiercer.

The wind around him stilled.

A single arrow—an arrow of red flame—was forming.

It sparked.

Then raged.

And as the final shape took form—Jason's body radiated heat so intense, the ground beneath him cracked.

The two fingers on his left hand served as the arrowhead.

He drew back.

Eyes shut.

The black flames surged forward—coming for him.

The Lord Demon laughed.

"Flames? Foolish. We are demons. Flames have no effect on us."

Jason's eyes snapped open.

Twin red irises locked onto the incoming inferno.

"Fuga."

Time stopped.

The air hummed with divine resonance.

And Jason whispered, his voice low and resolute—

"Divine Flame."

The arrow was loosed.

It didn't fly. It didn't soar.

It burned.

In the instant it left Jason's hand, everything changed. The battlefield was consumed in crimson glory—a piercing beam of divine fire, twisting and roaring, cutting through existence like a blade of judgment.

It met the nine black soul flames.

There was no clash.

No impact.

They were erased.

Burned away as if they had never existed.

The fire kept going.

It struck the Lord Demon.

He didn't scream.

He didn't move.

Because he didn't have time to react.

His body began to burn—from the inside out.

First the skin.

Then the bone.

Then the soul.

And in that final moment, as his form was consumed by the Divine Flame, something ancient stirred inside his fading mind. A memory—buried so deep it had long since become a scar carved into his existence.

The first day he descended into Hell.

The first time he felt the fire.

Not any ordinary flame… but the white flames of Lucifer.

Agonizing. Unrelenting. Unholy.

They weren't meant to kill. They were meant to teach despair.

The pain had never left him. No matter how powerful he became, no matter how many souls he devoured, that flame had haunted every shadow of his being.

And now…This flame…Jason's flame…

It was the same.

No.It was worse.

Unlike Lucifer's torture flames....The Divine flames aren't meant to torture....instead they are meant to Kill.

....

Jason stood in the crater of scorched stone, breath heavy, skin charred at the edges, eyes gleaming with raw power.

His whisper drifted through the rising heat.

"…Yeah. Divine Flame works."

Said Jason as he fell on his back passed out
