The next morning, there was a buzzing alarm sound from the phone. Amelia woke up, turned off the alarm, and left bed. After washing her face, brushing her teeth, and making coffee, she sits on the sofa and turns on the television. A news host is starting to report on today's news: "Today's News. There was an Exploding or Bombing Incident that happened last night at one of the high schools. From the current information, there was only one casualty identified, and the cause of the Explosion is still under investigation." Amelia turns off the TV and sips the coffee.
As she sighed, in her mind, ' what a strange dream.' Suddenly, someone knocked on the door. As she opened the door, it turned out to be Dian and Rui. "Morning, mind if we came in?" Dian asked, and Amelia sighed, "So it was not a dream all along. Come on in," said Amelia.
Dian and Rui walk in and sit on the sofa, as Amelia makes coffee and brings it to them. "Thanks, that's very kind of you," said Rui.
"So, what's your business?" Amelia asked.
Dian smirks, "I like your style, straight to the point." Dian takes out the name card, puts it on the table, and slides it towards Amelia. "We would like to recruit you as the C.I.O. agent," said Dian.
Amelia was astounded, "Wait, wait, wait. After you burned down my old workplaces, now you want me to join?! I don't even know what just freaking happened last night," said Amelia with frustration.
Rui tries to calm the situation, "Ms. Amelia, we know the current situation sounds confusing. But-"
Before Rui could finish the sentence, Dian cut in and said, "Ms. Amelia, do you believe in gods?" Rui and Amelia were shocked by Dian's sudden question. What do you mean by "god"? Amelia asked.
"Let me rephrase it, do you believe in mythical beings, like Nyi Roro Kidul, etc?" Dian asked.
"Does my answer matter? Because I don't see that my beliefs have anything to do with this." Amelia replies.
"What if I tell you, currently, the gods are fighting a greater evil in this world. Would you believe it?" Dian further asked.
"Wait, wait, now you're giving me a headache," said Amelia. As she walked towards the door and opened it, "Would you mind if I asked you guys to leave? My head is still hurting, I might need some rest," said Amelia.
Dian and Rui seem not to want to bother anymore, and walk out the door. As Amelia closed the door, Rui suddenly halted it. "Ms. Amelia, I know everything right now seems like nonsense, but I know deep down in you. You still needed the answer, so we left our name card on the table. If you truly need the answer, call us," said Rui.
"By the way, you've got nowhere to go anyway. Might as well join us," said Dian from the back.
Rui seems annoyed. "Mr. Dian, enough with the joke. Just ignore him, Ms. Amelia," said Rui. Amelia just nodded her head and closed the door. "Let's give her some time," said Rui. Dian simply nodded, and both of them left. While Amelia was washing the cup, suddenly she received a message notification. As she read the notification, Amelia was shocked and immediately rushed out of her home.
Amelia arrives near Riko's house, as Riko's family is preparing to move out. Amelia calls out to Riko, and Riko notices. Amelia shows the message that she receives, which turns out to be news of the culprit or suspect of the School explosion, and it shows Riko's name in it.
"Did you guys plan to move out because of this?" Amelia asked.
"No, we were advised by the C.I.O. to move out. Even before the news report," as Riko replies, he started to sob, "Sorry, Ms. Amelia. I never meant to hurt anybody, and any of this to happen." and continued sobbing. As Amelia embraces Riko, "It's okay. It's not your fault."
"So, can you tell me what truly happened?" Amelia asked.
Riko wipes off his tears. "Ms. Amelia, you might not know that I was constantly bullied outside of school. But one day, I was approached by one person."
"One person?" Amelia questioned with curiosity.
"Yes, a man, maybe in his twenties. He gave me a pouch and said that this thing would give me power. And without hesitation, I took it. The next thing I know, I started to hear the voices keep telling me to do something, and sometimes it takes control of my body," Riko replies.
"So, can you guide me to this man?" Amelia asked.
"No, I don't think so. From the looks of it, he doesn't seem to come from this village." Riko replies.
Riko's father approaches, "Sorry to interrupt, Ms. Amelia. We've got a train to catch," said Riko's father.
"It's okay," Amelia replies and pats Riko's head.
As Riko and his father left, and waved goodbye. Amelia also continued to wave as the car left. At night, back at Amelia's home. While she was lying in bed, thinking about all the things that happened. She held up the name card that Dian left, and Rui's words crossed her mind, "I know deep down in you. You still needed the answer. If you truly need the answer, call us."
The next afternoon, Rui's smartphone started ringing. She picked up the phone. "Yes…Put me through." After hearing that, she left the scene. Later, someone knocked on Amelia's home door. Amelia opened the door. "Come on in," said Amelia, and Rui entered.
"You came alone? Where's the other one?" Amelia asked.
"Urgent Mission. So, you called. Does that mean you're ready to join us?" Rui replies.
"Before that, I want to confirm something. What is C.I.O.? And why me?" Amelia asked.
"To put it simply, we're from the Chaos Investigation Organization. Our goal is to investigate and deal with all the Chaos-related cases, and why you? It was because you're the awakened one." Rui replies.
"Awakened one?" Amelia seems unsure.
"Yes, the one who can see the Chaos," said Rui.
"Chaos?! So that's what you guys called the monstrous being that assaults the school. Who's the perpetrator? Who's the guy behind all this?" Amelia asked.
Rui was astonished, "A guy? Where do you find out about this information?" Rui questioned.
"Riko tells me that," Amelia replies.
Rui sighed, "Is that so, to be honest with you. We cannot disclose more information to a non C.I.O. agent. All I can say is, there was someone who was behind all this."
Rui extended her hand. "Like I said previously, if you truly needed the answer, please join us," said Rui.
Amelia seems determined. "Okay, no more questions. I will join the C.I.O., and I will uncover the truth, the answers with my hand," said Amelia as she took Rui's hand.
Suddenly, there was a loud bang of thumping voices outside. Amelia opened the door to check it, and it turned out to be Dian. Amelia was shocked. "So are you ready to view the whole new side of this world?" said Dian.
