Chapter 2 - Chapter 2: The First Night in a New World

I am inside an unknown cave as I try to light a fire. I collect some dry wooden sticks and put them together, then I grab two stones and rub them until I get a spark. Luckily, after some tries, I light a fire.

As I sit there, staring into the flames, I begin thinking—What is happening? Where am I? Whose body is this? I have no memories.

After a while, I stand up and say,

"Well, there's nowhere I'll get if I just remain seated. First, I need to get out of this damn forest, then find some people so I can get an idea of where I am. As for this body... well, I can figure it out later."

I then look closely at my body.

"Well, this body is too good..."

I observe my muscles and see eight-pack abs. I get surprised.

"Well, this body is just perfect. I can perform every martial art properly."

I jump, testing my flexibility—my movements are fluid, precise. I conclude that my height is above 6 foot 8.

I walk toward the cave wall and punch it.

BOOM!

A huge hole is created in the wall.

I say,

"This body is tough too."

After all the observations, I say,

"Well, this body clearly resembles ancient humans, which I heard about in books. There's no way a modern-day human can have such a physique."

Then I add,

"Well, that's good for me. I can leave this forest in no time with this body."

I head back to the cliff.

"A forest this big... it must be the Amazon. But I've been to the Amazon, and I've never seen such a landscape. Maybe it's a part of the Amazon I wasn't able to visit."

Suddenly, my stomach growls loudly. I place a hand on my stomach.

"Let's eat first before leaving."

I look around to see what utensils I have in the cave. I find a pot made of stone and a bunch of big stones.

"Well, nothing to eat here..."

Then my eyes meet the snake's body.

"Well, I also learned how to cook snake in certain countries. Let's see how this snake meat tastes."

I take my spear and walk near the snake's body. With the help of the spearhead, I try to cut the snake—but the snake's scales are protecting the skin.

I try hard to cut, but I'm not able to.

"What is happening? I already pierced the snake with this spear, so why am I not able to cut it?"

I feel the scales.

"What is this scale...? It feels just like iron."

After trying for a while, I sit down, tired.

"What is this situation...? Earlier I was able to pierce it, but now it's like I'm trying to cut iron with stone."

I close my eyes. After a minute, I open them. I remember—when I was fighting the snake, the spearhead glowed blue when I focused on Sojutsu.

I try again to remember all forms of Sojutsu.

The spearhead glows once more with a strange blue light.

I then try to cut the snake scales—this time, it cuts like I'm slicing through a cake.

I take out the snake meat. After retrieving all of it, I cut some pieces and start cooking them over the fire.

While the meat is cooking, I grow curious about that strange blue glow on the spearhead. I ignite the glow again and observe it closely.

Some faint smoke rises from the tip—like smoke from an incense stick.

"Well, it feels like... some kind of energy."

Suddenly, the spearhead explodes.

I flinch, shocked—a piece hits my face.

"Ouch! Ouch!"

I put my hand on my face.

"What happened...?"

I look at what I'm holding. It's just a stick now.

"My spearhead made of stone can't handle that energy for long."

Just then, the aroma of grilled meat hits me. I move toward the fire and look at the grilled snake meat.

Water pools in my mouth.

"This looks heavenly."

I take a bite—my expression turns joyous.

"Woo! I've never tasted something like this. It's just too good!"

I eat my fill. After having a nice meal, I stretch my body.

"I'll start my journey tomorrow. Today, I'll prepare for it."

I take some stones and start carving them to create some weapons. During my world tour, I not only learned martial arts—but also survival skills, blacksmithing, and hunting.

I try to create a hammer with stone. After some effort, I manage to craft a rough hammer.

I then move near the snake skin and pluck out the scales. With the help of fire and a utensil, I try to melt the scales.

After some hours, it melts.

Now, the real work begins.

I place the melted scale liquid on a carved stone—the carved region is shaped like a block.

After six hours of effort, I successfully create two knives and one spearhead.

I bind the spearhead to the stick of the broken spear.

"It looks better now."

I perform Sojutsu again—this time, the glow becomes stronger.

I conclude:

"With a better weapon, I can increase the effect of this mysterious energy."

I glance outside the cave.

It's already night.

I look up at the sky—and freeze, horrified.

There are three moons in the sky.

"Oh God... am I hallucinating?"

There's one thing now clear in my mind:

This is not Earth.

I fall silent. I walk quietly back inside the cave.

Then I scream,

"What the hell is going on?! Why are there three moons?! What am I supposed to do?!"

I go mad for a moment—eyes wide, hair messy, breath erratic.

Suddenly, I slap myself. Then I go quiet.

"Well, now everything makes sense. I must have reincarnated into a new world with this new body. That explains the unknown big snake, strange energy and this large, endless forest."

But still... I haven't answered one question.

"What am I supposed to do now?"

I fall silent again.

"First thing first... let's sleep and rest. With a good sleep, maybe I'll figure something out."

I make a sleeping place near the fire and lie down—spear clutched tightly in my hand.
