Chapter 6 - "Divine Inheritance."

There was no time to waste arguing with Meteor. He was fading fast. Firefly didn't hesitate—being decisive was a basic quality for a warrior.

If the voice behind all this turned out to be hostile, she'd just transform, ignite the starlight sea within her, and take the enemy down with her, no questions asked.

Sure, because of the different worlds, she couldn't use her Fate power here. If she wanted to transform, she'd have to burn her own life force. But honestly, the explosive power from burning her life wasn't any weaker than the strength Fate gave her.

As soon as she finished speaking, a soft green light formed in front of the two of them. A gentle-looking goddess, radiating pure life energy, appeared in front of them like flowing water.

With a kind smile, she said, "Hello. I'm the Goddess of Life."

Firefly and Meteor glanced at each other. After sharing memories once, they both knew that as long as it wasn't one of those dark, twisted worlds, life-type gods were usually friendly. And this one? She looked super soft and gentle. That alone made them lower their guard quite a bit.

They needed help, and this goddess didn't look evil at all. Honestly, trusting her was probably their only option right now. One was just a regular person without a body, hanging by a thread, about to fade away. The other—a de-aged mecha girl stuck in a foreign world, only able to fight by burning her life force. What else could they do besides trust her?

The Goddess of Life smiled and said, "It's simple. You inherit my divinity and become the new Goddess of Life. At the same time, you'll share your life force with him, help rebuild his body, and become his anchor in this world. That way, this world will start to accept him too."

Firefly was stunned. She'd expected a lot of things, even prepared to give up half her life—but inheriting the goddess's position? Becoming the new Goddess of Life? That sounded like a massive win!

Meteor looked a bit weirded out too. A divine inheritance? Goddess of Life? He was getting déjà vu vibes—like he'd seen this kind of setup somewhere before.

"Why me?" Firefly asked.

The goddess smiled. "Because I've been searching for years, and you're the only one qualified to inherit the position. You've understood the essence of life. If anyone's going to be the next Goddess of Life, it's you."

"But if you give me your position, what happens to you? Isn't it super important?"

Firefly was even more confused now. This was a godly title we're talking about, and she was just handing it over like it was nothing?

"It is important, yes," the goddess said calmly, "but not to me anymore. Letting it go is the only way I can chase after the meaning of life that's truly mine."

She smiled at Firefly, a knowing look in her eyes. Firefly's truth of life was survival. But hers? It was creating a child with the God of Destruction.

And to resolve the eternal conflict between destruction and life, Firefly was the key. Passing on the divine title was just the first step. Not only would she give up her godhood, but the God of Destruction would too. That was their only chance to bring a new life into this world.

As for whether the Destruction God would agree to let go of his power, she wasn't worried. She knew him well—he'd always blamed himself for not being able to give her a child. He wouldn't pass up this chance. Plus, guarding and expanding the God Realm could easily be handed over to successors.

At their level, giving up a divine title didn't mean much. Sure, they'd lose some power short-term, but they could get back to full strength with a bit of time.

And when it came to picking a successor for the God of Destruction? The goddess already had someone in mind—Tang San, who had dual godhood as both Sea God and Asura God.

She pulled out a glowing green seed—it was her divine essence, the core of her godhood.

"Child, do you really want to accept my inheritance?"

"I do," Firefly answered without hesitation.

Saving Meteor was already enough reason to agree, but becoming a goddess? That definitely wasn't a bad deal. Plus, she hadn't forgotten about her "Entropy Deficiency."

The Goddess of Life's powers were obviously all about healing, purification, and vitality. If anything could fix her entropy disorder, this was it. Talk about a gift from the heavens—kill two birds with one stone!

The glowing green seed in the goddess's palm floated up and drifted toward Firefly. Instantly, a gentle wave of life energy wrapped around her, making her body shiver slightly.

Then it hit her—an overwhelming flood of life energy surged into her body. She felt something calling to her from a distant dimension, as if inviting her to sit on a throne.

That must be the seat of the Life Divinity. It was calling to her.

Her senses exploded. She could feel higher-dimensional realms far away, the teeming life within them, and even planets farther out, all pulsing with life. They were within her perception now.

This power wasn't hers—it belonged to the Goddess of Life. It was the power of the divine seat itself.

The soft green glow spread over Firefly completely, and then, guided by the goddess, it moved toward Meteor, wrapping him up and forming a glowing green cocoon.

The cocoon pulsed with light, like the heartbeat of life itself. Meteor felt warm all over, his consciousness drifting between sleep and wakefulness, like being cradled in his mother's arms. He slowly sank into a beautiful dream.

Time passed.

Under the divine power of life, a brand-new life began to form inside the cocoon. Firefly's face lit up with joy. Inside that growing life, she could feel a warm, familiar presence—it was Meteor. And mixed in with his aura was her own.

This was the life-sharing ritual. Firefly had given everything to Meteor—her bloodline, her divinity, even her soul. From this moment on, their fates were completely tied together. If one thrived, so did the other. If one was hurt, both would suffer. They were now inseparable.

This was a ritual the Goddess of Life had never used before—not even for the God of Destruction. No one had ever been worthy of her giving everything. Maybe Destruction could've been, but he'd never needed her to go that far.

The Goddess of Life was being incredibly generous. All the divine power used in the life-sharing ritual and in resurrecting Meteor came from her alone. She treated Firefly, her chosen successor, with sincere kindness.

Thanks to her full support, Meteor developed inside the cocoon at an impossible speed. From a newborn, he grew into a cute three- or four-year-old little boy in no time.

And when he reached the same apparent age as Firefly's current form, he opened his eyes—blue on top, pink on the bottom, with silver hair just like hers.

He stretched out his hand, tore through the green cocoon, and stepped out.
