Birdsong filled the cool morning air. Mist clung to the treetops as Ayush, Kartik, Shivam, and Lucky trudged carefully through the foliage.
Ayush led the way, compass in one hand, machete in the other.
Shivam (whispering):"Six kilometers feels like sixty when you're this hungry…"
Lucky (grinning):"Your mouth uses more energy than your legs, bro."
Kartik (quiet, focused):"Stay alert. We don't know what's guarding that vault."
The group moved in silence after that, their footsteps muffled by damp earth.
7:10 AMLocation: Near Riverbend Cliff
They reached a natural ledge overlooking the valley below. In the distance, half-buried under soil and vines, stood a metallic dome—camouflaged but clearly man-made.
Ayush (staring):"That's it."
Shivam (awed):"Dude… it looks like something out of a sci-fi movie."
Kartik (scanning):"No zombies around. Too quiet."
Lucky:"Either that's good news… or very, very bad."
They descended carefully, weapons drawn.

They stood before a steel-reinforced door, half-covered in mud and moss. Faint writing was etched into the wall.
Kartik (reading):"'H.S.O. Experimental Safehouse – Level Z5'That's the same abbreviation from those lab files."
Ayush:"Humavirus Safety Organization…"
He knelt down, wiping more dirt. A hidden keypad glowed faintly beneath.
Ayush:"Kartik, you're up."
Kartik worked swiftly, rewiring old circuits with a handheld device he'd built using scavenged tech.
The keypad sparked. A whir echoed inside. Then—CLUNK.The door opened just enough to squeeze through.
Interior Vault – 8:05 AMDark. Cold. Sterile.
They switched on torches. A hallway stretched into darkness. The floor was dusty but untouched.
Shivam (nervous):"If something jumps out, I'm punching you first, Kartik."
Kartik (deadpan):"Noted."
They passed empty labs, locked medical cabinets, strange glass pods… shattered.
Then they reached a room labeled:"Project Rebirth: Phase 2"
Inside:
• Dozens of notebooks
• A wall map showing global HSO stations
• And a digital drive blinking slowly
Ayush (excited):"Plug that in. Let's see what these people were up to."
Kartik inserted the drive into his portable decryption device.
Kartik:"Give me five minutes. This system's old-school but encrypted like a bank vault."
Meanwhile, Lucky opened drawers.
Lucky (whistling):"Guys… check this out."
He pulled out a file titled:"SAMPLE C-42 — IMMUNE SUBJECTS (INDIA, EAST SECTOR)"
Inside:
• Blood test results
• A list of names
• And four photographs — Ayush, Kartik, Ananya, and Sanaa.
The boys froze.
Shivam (reading):"'Genetically unique markers found. Subjects show resistance to primary strain. Potential key to cure development.'"
Ayush (stunned):"They knew about us… before the outbreak even hit Delhi."
Kartik (serious):"This means the outbreak wasn't random. They were watching us. Experimenting."
A long silence. Tension thickened.
Ayush:"This changes everything."
Base, Same Time – 9:00 AM
Back at the base, Ananya and Sanaa sat on the rooftop, watching the calm river.
Ananya (softly):"I hope they're okay…"
Sanaa (smiling):"They will be. They've survived worse."
Suddenly, the walkie-talkie crackled to life.
Ayush (voice):"Base, this is Alpha Team. Vault is real. We found files—massive info. No hostiles. We're coming home."
Ananya (relieved, eyes watering):"Copy that. Come back safe."
Sanaa exhaled deeply, her fingers clutching the railing.
Vault Interior – 9:30 AM
Kartik downloaded all data. Just as they prepared to leave, the lights flickered on.
A robotic voice echoed:"System lockdown disengaged. Countdown to purge initiated.""T-minus 10 minutes."
Ayush:"We triggered a failsafe. Time to move!"
They sprinted back through the corridors. Debris started falling. The vault began collapsing behind them.
They barely made it through the exit as the steel dome caved in, swallowing the vault forever.
Everyone lay on the ground, panting.
Shivam (laughing breathlessly):"Okay… that was insane."
Kartik (grinning):"But we got the files. That's all that matters."
Ayush:"Let's go home."
Base Gates – 11:00 AM
As the team approached, kids[rescued in past] ran to the gate cheering.
Ananya ran down the steps, heart pounding. She crashed into Ayush, hugging him tightly.
Ananya (whispering):"You promised you'd come back."
Ayush (hugging her back):"I always will."
Sanaa hugged Kartik too, more softly, with unsaid emotion in her eyes.
Evening – Dining Hall
The group gathered around as Kartik played decrypted footage.
On screen:
Scientists testing blood samples
Foreign generals discussing Phase 3 of a plan
And one chilling line:"Only the immune will rebuild. The rest... are control variables."
Suraj (angrily):"They created this…"
Ayush (quietly):"Nah,They created us."
Silence again. But this time — not out of fear, but clarity.
Kartik:"This is just the beginning of this phase 3."
