Nathan had been in the middle of enhancing the blue symbiote's capabilities through accelerated artificial evolution. Using advanced genetic engineering methods, he guided the symbiote's mutations manually, overriding its natural limitations.
But halfway through the complex procedure, he checked the surveillance feed from the Life Foundation—and what he saw made him freeze.
A new silver-white Spider-Man had appeared.
A chill crept down his spine.
Without hesitation, Nathan realized the disaster that loomed ahead. If Riot's plan succeeded, if millions of symbiotes really descended upon Earth, the planet would become a battlefield of monstrous, parasite-driven super-soldiers. Humanity would be overrun by creatures stronger than any human military force.
Worse, these symbiotes could bond with powerful beings—amplifying their abilities to monstrous extremes.
Even with all his strength and planning, Nathan knew he couldn't stand against that kind of apocalyptic swarm.
He had to stop it. Now.
And yet, there was another reason.
Riot, the current leader of the symbiotes, possessed more than just brute strength. He had memories, technology, and a command structure Nathan desperately needed. Capturing Riot could mean learning everything about the alien species—from their origin to their weaknesses. That knowledge was essential for long-term survival.
The rocket that was supposed to carry the symbiotes hadn't yet been launched.
He still had time.
Nathan turned back to his experiment with a renewed sense of urgency. This delay was a blessing in disguise. He could use it to eliminate the most fatal flaw in symbiotes—weakness to noise.
He leaned toward the symbiote. "Do you want to overcome your fatal weaknesses?"
The blue symbiote—normally proud and aggressive—nodded like an obedient child.
Nathan's eyes glinted. "Good. You're an ambitious one. That's what I like to see."
He smirked and added, "Even if you weren't, I'd still continue. Fixing your flaws is part of my mission, too."
The symbiote trembled. "I'll do it. I want to overcome the noise. I will work hard!"
Nathan and the symbiote shared the same fatal flaw. Excessive sound could unravel their bodies, send them into spasms of pain, or even kill them outright.
Nathan's hearing was hyper-sensitive. Even everyday noise gave him migraines.
Yet he chose to suffer—for science, for strength, for survival.
Thus began the most torturous part of the symbiote's life.
Nathan bombarded it with sound waves, starting with low-level noise and slowly increasing the volume and frequency. He didn't just observe—he manipulated its cells, its structure, constantly pushing the boundaries of its adaptation.
The lab was filled with inhuman shrieks.
Each wave of noise shredded the symbiote's body. It liquefied, reformed, split apart again. Each time it disintegrated, Nathan gave it specialized regenerative formulas.
Then he did it again.
And again.
And again.
For hours.
The symbiote begged in its own way, wailing and clawing at the glass walls of its chamber, but Nathan showed no mercy.
"I need you stronger," he said coldly. "The world needs you stronger."
His own head throbbed with the noise. Blood trickled from his nose. But he endured it.
"Adapt or die."
Eventually, something changed. The blue symbiote began to resist disintegration. It didn't fall apart as quickly. It screamed less. Its core structure was becoming hardened.
Nathan observed carefully.
At last, it stood within the chamber, fully exposed to mid-level noise, without collapsing.
He nodded, satisfied. "Excellent. It's done."
The symbiote collapsed. Crying.
If it had a voice, it would've screamed, "Never again."
Nathan turned off the equipment and slumped back, exhaustion catching up with him. But he smiled through the pain.
"Worth it," he muttered.
Elsewhere...
The Life Foundation had located Eddie Brock.
Separated from Venom after a fight, Eddie was defenseless. Captured easily.
Inside the facility, he was tied to a chair, bruised and bleeding.
Eddie looked around at the guns and armored guards. "Let me go?" he asked weakly.
The mercenary responded by slamming a rifle butt into his stomach.
"Ugh—you bastard!" Eddie gasped.
He received another strike for speaking.
At that moment, a silver figure entered the room.
Eddie looked up and gasped.
Spider-Man?!
But something was wrong.
This wasn't Peter Parker. The body language was different. The glow in his eyes... menacing.
And then the guards saluted him.
"Sir," they said, "what should we do with him?"
Spider-Man's voice was cold. "Where's Venom?"
Eddie's hope shattered.
"He's working with them?!"
"I don't know," Eddie muttered, terrified. "We argued. I don't know where he is."
Spider-Man lifted Eddie off the chair.
A monstrous head with razor teeth emerged from his shoulder. "Where is the symbiote?!"
Still no answer.
"Teach him a lesson," Spider-Man ordered.
Then he turned to the man next to him. "Is the spaceship ready?"
"Almost," replied Drake. "We're about to launch."
Spider-Man nodded with satisfaction. "Good. Soon we'll bring back millions. Earth will become the new nest."
He left.
Drake turned back to Eddie. "Dispose of him."
Eddie was dragged to the woods.
But as the guards prepared to kill him...
Something moved.
The first guard vanished with a scream.
Then another.
Venom reappeared.
"Let's go," he said.
Eddie gasped. "Venom—he's merged with Riot! With Spider-Man!"
Venom flinched. "What?!"
Eddie: "They're launching a rocket. To bring more symbiotes. We have to stop them."
Venom growled. "They're stronger now. Too strong. We can't win."
Eddie looked him in the eyes. "Then we'll die trying."
Venom hesitated... then gave in.
They merged again.
At the launchpad—
A silver blur streaked across the steel bridge.
Spider-Man, now enhanced by Riot, was moving too fast to see.
Suddenly, a black blur leapt forward.
Venom attacked, his fist crashing down like a boulder!
Spider-Man didn't dodge.
He kicked.
BOOM!
Venom was sent flying, crashing through barriers, landing in a heap.
Spider-Man stood over him. "You're weak."
Venom growled. "I'm free. I don't want more freaks showing up and taking my place."
Spider-Man tilted his head. "You can't stop me."
He vanished. Reappeared in front of Venom.
A blinding kick smashed Venom into the ground.
A crater formed.
Eddie's body was visible beneath the fragmented goo.
Spider-Man leaned close. "Next time, I kill you."
As he turned to leave...
A voice called out:
"Spider-Man?! What the hell?"
Iron Man landed. Beside him, War Machine and Hawkeye.
Venom shouted, "He's with Riot! He's trying to bring more symbiotes!"
Iron Man's eyes narrowed. "Then we stop him."
The Avengers charged.
Spider-Man grinned.
And exploded into action.
Boom. Boom. Boom.
They fell. One by one.
Iron Man's armor shattered. War Machine was thrown into a wall. Hawkeye barely managed to fire before he was smashed down.
The fight was over in seconds.
Spider-Man stood among the wreckage, victorious.
"I warned you."
But then—
A shockwave ripped through the air.
A hand grabbed Spider-Man's head.
SLAM.
He was driven into the ground.
A massive crater opened beneath him.
Nathan had arrived.
