Axton sat quietly beside Ren's sleeping body, watching his face attentively for any slightest change.
It's been more than five minutes as Corvin suggested but Ren was yet to wake up.
He slowly leaned over Ren's face, his fingers gently tracing Ren's smooth cheek, "You're scaring me, Renault. You can't switch off on me like this." He whispered.
A soft knock came at the door, "May I come in, Captain?" Corvin's voice asked.
Axton straightened, stood, and walked toward the door, "Come in." He answered as he pushed the button to allow the door to slide open.
Corvin nodded and walked in dude the chamber.
He was now dressed in a loose grey shirt, his wound properly covered by Kael. His mood was a bit low due to Rhys's behaviour but he pushed his problems aside to attend to Axton and Ren... that's what doctors do: pause their lives to help others live theirs.
"He's not up yet," Axton said, returning to Ren's side.
