Aurora's POV
"And why are you trying to go over the fence?" a soft voice asked behind me.
I spun around.
It was the blind girl.
My heart lurched. "I—I'm just trying to run away."
"Run away?" she repeated gently. "But why?"
"It's a long story," I muttered, rubbing my arms. "I just… I need to get out of here right now. Do you know any other exits besides this wall?" I glanced up helplessly. "I can't climb it."
"I'm sorry," she said. "Even though I know another exit, I can't tell you. You're trying to escape. Helping you would get me in trouble."
"Please," I begged.
I knelt to her level and grabbed her hands desperately. "Look at me. I'm suffering—"
"I can't look at you," she interrupted. "I'm blind."
I froze, heat flooding my face. I stood up quickly. "Right. I'm sorry."
"It's fine," she said softly. "I can still see you."
I blinked. "What? But you just said you're blind."
