Chapter 7 - S1 E7 - LHS-1361

"What do you want human?"

A large Yetrin life form grunted as they stepped in front of Kilo just as he walked up to what he suspected as the black market entrance.

"I know what's behind that door and my contacts indicated to unusual opportunities in recent days, I am merely looking to take these opportunities."

Kilo knew he was dead if he revealed why he was truly there but also couldn't exactly lie, it was a tricky game but he hoped that this would suffice.

The Yetrin guard looked him up and down gauging wether Kilo was a threat to their operations or not. After a few short moments that felt like minutes the guard moved aside gestureing for him to enter giving a warning that violence will not be tolerated within. Reaching the end of a dark stairway he was almost blinded by the lights, at first glance it seemed more like a nightclub.

Scanning the area he figured the best place to start would be the central bar, he was given curious looks from countless life forms as he approached and sat at the bar. Turning down one of the bartenders offer of a drink he inquired about recently acquired goods hoping to gain a lead.

"I am merely a bartender, I do not retain that type of information. Perhaps ask ….. that table over there" The bartender pointed at a far off table surrounded with shady looking figures.

Kilo slowly approached the table on high alert, he politely waited for the few life forms to finish discussing something unknown. One of the Velrhan life forms gestured for Kilo to sit at the table to discuss his presence.

He kept it straight forward asking about recent acquisitions of high value goods. The life forms exchanged quick glances followed by slight nodes hinting to an unheard conversation. The Velrhan life form confirmed recent acquisition of high value goods making an offer to examine. Kilo was soon looking over the acquired goods on the table, most of the items weren't what he was looking for but he eventually spotted the stolen good except for one item. He wanted to question where this item was but figured it too dangerous to ask such dangerous questions. The act was getting harder and harder to keep together as he was reaching his breaking point with the facade, luckily he was given a window to escape as they began to negotiate prices.

"Sorry to disappoint but these prices are far too high for my current situation" Kilo ised this to leave the table without much questioning from the other life forms.

Confirmation of the goods at the black market was only half the lead as he now needed to know where the thief went to next. He returned to the bartender asking if they had any information on the man who sold items to that table. The bartender denied or evaded his questions until they were offered a bribe.

"I remember now. I remember seeing him leave out the service tunnel exit yesterday, although my information may be incorrect as I see dozens enter and exit through there. Good hunting freelancer" The bartender leaned in to whisper the last sentence before ordering Kilo to leave the black market.

Kilo was at a lose of words questioning how they knew he was a freelancer so easily, before he knew it he was within the service tunnels. Quickly regaining control of his racing mind he scanned the area for anything that could give clues. There was little to this section of tunneling except for the homeless residing in the small off shoots from the tunnel.

With luck and bribes the homeless were able to provide useful information, the thief was seen heading towards an old warehouse from the stations early years. The warehouse hadn't been used in decades with many not knowing about it's presence. Standing in front of the warehouse entrance Kilo hoped that all of the information he gathered was accurate.
