Chapter 40 - Chapter 40: The Dark-Dark Fruit, Absolute Domination

A group of men stormed out of the bar, shouting angrily at Roy before noticing Luffy and the others still standing in the street.

"How DARE YOU interrupt my drinking again! Guess I didn't beat you hard enough last time!" Bellamy snarled, glaring at Luffy.

CRASH!

From behind, the wreckage of the bar shifted as Teach crawled out, howling in pain.

"Ahhh! It hurts, it hurts!"

Roy didn't even glance at Bellamy, his focus locked on Teach.

"The price of eating that fruit. Since I can't find Ace right now, I'll deal with you first, Teach. Come back with me and face judgment."

Hearing this, Teach stopped rolling on the ground. Bloodied and terrified, he looked up at Roy in terror.

"Hey, old man! Are you deaf or something? I'm talking to you!" Bellamy stomped up to Roy, looming over him.

Roy finally turned his gaze toward him and smiled. "You're one of Doflamingo's lackeys, right? Get lost. I'm in a bad mood right now—even if Doflamingo himself showed up, I'd kill him."

Bellamy's face twisted in fury. His loyalty to Doflamingo was absolute—the man was as revered in his eyes as Whitebeard was to Ace.

"How dare you insult Doflamingo-sama! Prepare to die!" Bellamy clenched his fist, his forearm coiling like a spring.

"Roy, watch out!" Nami shouted.

"Spring Hopper!"

Bellamy's fist shot toward Roy, but Roy simply raised his hand to block.

"BOOM!"

A shockwave blasted through the air.

The air exploded from the impact.

"HAHAHAHA! He's dead! No one can take Bellamy's punch!" Bellamy's crew laughed.

But Bellamy's grin quickly faded. He stared at his fist, then his arm.

From his knuckles up, his entire forearm bones had shattered.

It was like punching solid steel—no, something even harder.

"AAAAAAAAH!!!"

Bellamy collapsed, clutching his swollen, mangled arm, writhing in agony just like Teach had moments ago.

When Roy turned back to where Teach had been, the man was already fleeing.

"Tch. Wasting my time." Roy stepped on Bellamy's head.

"BOOOOOOM!"

The ground quaked violently, a massive crater forming beneath them. Bellamy was buried like a dead dog.

Nami, Zoro, and Luffy were speechless. There was nothing flashy about Roy's movements—just an eerie, overwhelming dominance.

"Teach, where do you think you're going?"

Roy vanished.

"He's gone!" Nami gasped.

"So fast!" Zoro's eyes widened.

"Whoa!" Luffy's jaw dropped.

Teach heard the wind whistle behind him, and instinct screamed at him to dodge! He quickly twisted his body aside at the last second—

"BOOM!"

A foot slammed into him with precision. Even though he tried to dodge, Roy had predicted his every move.

With Observation Haki strong enough to see the future, nothing can escape his prediction—unless you're faster.

CRASH!

CRASH!

CRASH!

Seven or eight buildings collapsed in succession. Teach was buried beneath the rubble.

More and more pirates gathered to watch. Mock Town was a haven for scum, but even they knew when a monster had arrived.

Bellamy, the highest bounty in town, had been crushed like an ant.

WHOOSH!

Then, darkness seeped from the wreckage.

Tiny black particles, like fireflies of the void, swarmed together, forming an expanding abyss that swallowed everything—buildings, debris, even people unlucky enough to be too close.

"What is that?"

From a distance, Luffy and the others watched in horror as the darkness consumed everything it touched.

Those who couldn't escape in time were swallowed.

The black tide surged toward Roy, who, instead of retreating, reached out his hand in curiosity.

The sensation was like diving into the abyssal depths of Fish-Man Island—an endless, suffocating void. Terrifying

"Zehahaha… Big Bro, I never realized you were this strong. No wonder Whitebeard made you Vice Captain. Even Marco underestimated you." Teach said excitedly.

Teach emerged from the darkness, his body wreathed in swirling black energy.

"What do you think of my ability? For this fruit, I spent over twenty years as Whitebeard's 'son'. Do you think I ever wanted to call him 'Pops'? I just wanted to get this fruit. I waited over twenty years, and finally I saw it. But Thatch got it first. I didn't want to kill him, but he found out. He left me no choice."

"Big bro, how is it? The most evil Devil Fruit, the Logia-type Dark-Dark Fruit.

"It is a powerful ability. But so what?" Roy stepped forward. As his foot touched the darkness, it instantly recoiled, unable to touch him.

"Haki!" Teach exclaimed, full of dread. He had long suspected Roy wasn't ordinary, especially since meeting him four years ago. Roy's Haki had grown even stronger since then, though the others seemed unaware.

But this was beyond anything he'd imagined.

"Big Bro, I heard you have a Devil Fruit too, one that gives you a gold coin every day. But do you know what my power does?" Teach said, right hand aiming at Roy.

"Enlighten me."

"This!" Teach's palm erupted with a vortex of darkness. "BLACK HOLE!"

A crushing gravitational force yanked Roy forward.

"So, it's a gravitational pull. You lose your abilities once you make contact," Roy murmured.

Dark Vortex doesn't target Devil Fruit users specifically—it uses gravitational force. Even a non-user would be pulled in. Only contact causes the ability cancellation.

"ZEHAHAHA!!"

Teach swung his fist—

BAM!

—only for Roy to counter with a punch of his own.

CRACKLE

BOOM!

His punch was wrapped in intense Conqueror's Haki, unleashing black lightning that cracked through the sky. The entire island of Jaya went dark. Everyone within range, except a few, was instantly knocked out.

"Ugh… my head…" On the street, Burgess knelt on one leg, clutching his head.

Van Augur fared no better. And the already-weak Doc Q collapsed unconscious with his horse.

"You didn't actually think a Devil Fruit alone could defeat me, did you?" Roy pressed his foot down on Teach's chest, his voice icy.
