Chapter 278: Poor Defence Against the Dark Arts and Professor Prewett
As expected, Harry was punished with a week of detention. Umbridge employed her cursed blood quill to torture Harry during detention.
Because this year at the Wizengamot, Harry had seen Dumbledore's lonely figure after being stripped of all his positions; he didn't dare seek out Dumbledore.
Harry, who had clashed with Umbridge, was called to Professor McGonagall's office.
"Sit down, Mr. Potter," Professor McGonagall said.
Harry sat uneasily in the chair, awaiting McGonagall's storm.
"Have a bite, Mr. Potter." Professor McGonagall picked up a cute ginger newt biscuit from the table.
"Professor, I..." Harry started to speak but was stopped by McGonagall raising her hand.
"I already know what happened..." Professor McGonagall was silent for a moment.
"You need to keep your head down, Harry, and try not to cause trouble. Control your temper." Professor McGonagall addressed Harry by his first name.
Seeing Harry's cold expression, Professor McGonagall forced him to take another biscuit and then sent him away.
After this, Harry's situation became even more miserable, and rumours about his delusional episodes spread throughout the school.
Friday finally came, and it was Ravenclaw's turn to begin Defence Against the Dark Arts.
"Good afternoon, children." A pink-clad... toad appeared at the entrance.
"Ordinary Wizarding Levels, abbreviated as O.W.L.s. Study hard and you might achieve good results, but failing has severe consequences."
With a wave of Umbridge's wand, the textbooks behind her floated toward the wizards.
"Your curriculum has always been fragmented. Starting today, you will have the privilege of learning the correct, focused Defence Against the Dark Arts curriculum approved by the Ministry of Magic."
Umbridge's bizarre accent echoed throughout the classroom. Aiden immediately sealed his ears with magic.
Ethan raised his hand, and Umbridge pointed her wand at him.
"Are we really not allowed to cast spells like the rumours say? Then how are we different from Muggles?"
"Oh, dear, not at all. You just need to use defensive magic safely and without risk. Of course, I must reiterate, this is the Ministry's position. You only need to master the theory to help you pass the exam."
Umbridge smiled at Ethan, causing his hair to stand on end.
"But the Dark Lord..." Ethan tried to say something.
"Enough! That's just an outdated clown spouting nonsense. There is no such thing as a Dark... Mystery Man!" Umbridge shrieked loudly.
"Well then, let's begin our lesson." She turned and smiled again.
"First, please read the preface of the textbook. I will select a student to read it aloud."
Umbridge held up the children's picture book... Defence Against the Dark Arts textbook and surveyed the classroom.
The young wizards, afraid of embarrassment, all lowered their heads.
"Hmm, let me see... let Mr. Prewett come up and read. Aiden Prewett." Umbridge's gaze locked onto a slacking dragon.
Unfortunately, the dragon was focused on his own world. After all, the Second Project was completed independently by him, and there were still many areas that needed debugging.
"Hmm, it seems our Mr. Prewett is quite shy." Umbridge walked in front of Aiden and snatched his book away.
This action caused Aiden to misconnect a spirit thread, making a week's worth of effort go to waste.
"Now, can you stand up and read this preface, Mr. Prewett?"
Umbridge tore his book in half right in front of Aiden.
"Huff..." The dragon frowned and expelled the stale air from his lungs.
With a ripping sound, Aiden's right sleeve exploded directly, and a dragon claw emerged from the shadows of the torn fabric.
The claw brought fierce winds, striking heavily against Umbridge's toad-like cheek.
The Sequence 3 Dragon pathway Beyonder displayed his immense power to the fullest.
Umbridge was like being hit by a speeding train, flying toward the wall, smashing through two consecutive stone walls before falling unconscious in the rubble.
"Aiden, did you kill her?" Edmund exclaimed.
"No, I controlled my strength... probably."
Aiden raised his right hand, and a virtual clock appeared. Everything seemed to rewind and restore itself.
After mastering the Time-Turner spell and part of the entropy-reversal core fragment, Aiden could interfere with space-time to a certain extent.
What he was using now was one of his research achievements.
Umbridge stood unharmed in front of him. Aiden snapped his fingers and made her faint.
"Alright, let's pretend today never happened, understood?" Aiden walked up to the podium, and the aura of a veteran teacher naturally emerged.
The little ravens and badgers below nodded repeatedly. After all, those two walls that had just been smashed had only just been repaired.
"For this class, to hell with the proper textbook."
Aiden raised his right hand; his textbook flew into his grasp, flames appeared from nowhere and burnt it to ashes.
"Now, it's Professor Prewett's teaching time. Raise your wands!" Aiden said.
At the same time, his staff materialised in his hand. He lightly tapped the ground, and the classroom expanded dozens of times wider.
"Yeah!" The young wizards below cheered.
"Listen well. For the theoretical exam portion, I hope Ravenclaw students will help their Hufflepuff classmates. I'll distribute the assistance arrangements later. If even one badger falls behind, you'd better think carefully. We all live under the same roof."
Aiden gave the little ravens a mild threat, making them all swallow nervously.
"For our first real Defence lesson this year, I want everyone to master the Shield Charm."
Aiden raised his staff and wrote letters in the air.
"The incantation is 'Protego'. Repeat after me!" Aiden said.
"Protego!" came multiple voices in unison.
"Very good. You must remember, when casting this spell, you need strong protective emotions. I suggest you try recalling the feeling of falling down stairs. If students haven't had this experience, I suggest you try it after class..."
Aiden's teaching was humorous and entertaining, and the class quickly ended.
"Wow, who knew Professor Prewett had such teaching abilities?" Edmund said, coming over teasingly.
"You're well-informed. Help me create an assistance schedule." Aiden immediately transformed into an unscrupulous boss and began exploiting Edmund.
"Mm-hmm." Edmund's mouth curved up as he rubbed two fingers together.
"I'll teach you the method of Patronus messaging." Aiden said, rubbing his forehead.
"Deal!" Edmund took the bait.
Suddenly, Aiden felt like he'd seen this scene somewhere before.
Aiden pondered while walking toward Ravenclaw Tower.
