Chapter 2 - Chapter 1: (2/6) Pokémon Master

Page: (2/6)

After stepping into his hotel room, Rinku collapsed onto the bed without a second thought. He had chosen the most luxurious suite available—ornately decorated in gold and jade tones, with a bed so soft it felt like sleeping on clouds.

Glancing sideways at the two large suitcases filled with cash, Rinku still found it hard to believe all of this was real.

Just a short while ago, he had been lounging at home, rewatching Hunter x Hunter and playing his favorite Pokémon game.

Who could've guessed that a blink later, he'd wake up in an entirely different world? After some investigation, Rinku had confirmed the unthinkable, he was now in the Hunter x Hunter universe.

Ordinarily, being transported into your favorite anime might sound like a dream come true. But this was Hunter x Hunter, a world defined by survival of the fittest, a place as dangerous as it was fascinating.

Having watched the series, Rinku understood exactly what kind of place this was. A high-risk world where strength meant everything.

Beasts, rare creatures, treasure, forbidden ruins, mystical realms... All of it sounded alluring—but only those with enough power could claim them.

In this world, those without strength were nothing more than ants, their fates dictated entirely by others.

Take the Phantom Troupe, for example, an A-rank criminal organization notorious for their countless murders, yet still untouchable by law.

Here, the lines between good and evil were blurred—shades of gray painted with brutal precision.

It didn't matter who you were or where you came from. As long as you had the strength, you could live freely in this world.

Just look at the infamous Zoldyck family, the most feared assassins in the world. Why has no one dared challenge them? Because of their overwhelming power.

At first, Rinku had grumbled, wondering why, if he had been playing a Pokémon game he hadn't ended up in the Pokémon world instead. That would've been great!

But no, he had landed in a world where tomorrow wasn't guaranteed. Even surviving the day was a toss-up.

What if he ran into a Nen user who took offense to the way he looked? That could be the end of him.

And that's not even considering the bizarre and terrifying creatures that roamed this world or the ever-present threat of disease and unknown viruses that could strike you down without warning.

The only silver lining? He hadn't arrived in Meteor City.

Instead, he had woken up in a quiet alleyway of an ordinary town. That, at least, was a stroke of luck.

Based on all the Hunter x Hunter fanfics he'd read, at least eight out of ten protagonists started off in Meteor City...

After he finally calmed down, a strange message entered his mind—no longer leaving him room to complain:

Nen Ability: Pokémon Master

1. Acquisition:

Arriving in a new region or participating in specific events may trigger the birth of a Pokémon.

The more famous or unique the location, the higher the probability, and the stronger the Pokémon.

Engaging in canon plotlines can also increase the chance of obtaining a Pokémon.

Each Pokémon is a unique individual, created from Nen energy.

They cannot be duplicated. If they die, they disappear forever.

Limitation: Pokémon take time to be born. The incubation period is random—stronger Pokémon generally require more time.

2. Training:

Pokémon gain experience through battles. Once their experience bar fills, they evolve to the next stage.

The stronger the opponent, the more experience gained. Some rare Pokémon may have alternate evolution methods.

If multiple Pokémon fight together, experience is split among them.

Limitation: A Pokémon can only gain experience from each enemy once. Repeated battles yield no further growth.

3. Pokédex:

Capable of identifying any entity, including Pokémon.

The more mysterious the subject, the less information can be obtained.

Due to the interdimensional nature of Pokémon, some abilities may differ in effect.

Limitation: Identifying non-Pokémon requires a small expenditure of Nen.

After reading the full message, Rinku finally understood why he hadn't been sent to the Pokémon world, because the Pokémon were meant to come to him.

No exaggeration, this was his cheat code, his golden finger as a transmigrator.

Based on the information, all he had to do was travel. Visit famous locations, get involved in key plot events—and he'd have the chance to obtain Pokémon.

And the best part? He hadn't even undergone the formal process of opening his Aura Nodes. This Nen ability had awakened on its own.

Rinku speculated that, like Neon in the original story, he was a natural-born Nen user.

He turned his head to the side and was immediately greeted by the sight of flowing emerald-green hair and eyes that shimmered like rubies.

A jagged red crystal was embedded in her chest, and her long white dress fluttered elegantly around her legs. She looked every bit like a refined noble lady.

It was none other than Gardevoir, the so-called "Psychic Queen."

Pokédex activated!

Name: Gardevoir

Trait: (Unavailable)

Type: (Unavailable)

Power Level: B

Skills: Telekinesis (others unavailable)

Gardevoir had appeared alongside the Nen ability message—as if part of a starter pack for newcomers.

Yet with only two lines of complete information, she seemed lonely and incomplete. This made Rinku ponder.

The Pokédex ranked strength using letter grades.

Rinku had never seen another Nen user in this world, so he had no baseline for what "B" rank meant—but it couldn't be weak.

The most critical discovery was this: although the Pokémon were technically Nen Beasts, each one was an independent entity.

They didn't drain his own Nen when fighting, they operated on their own stamina, like real Pokémon.

Rinku's body functioned more like a giant Poké Ball, merely a vessel for storage. The Pokémon could even return to him to recover their energy.

Which meant, even if Rinku never trained his own Nen capacity—he could still become powerful through his Pokémon.

While others had to fight tooth and nail, all he needed to do was act as a Trainer and give commands.

The only ability that consumed his Nen directly… was the Pokédex.
