Kiyosuke didn't stay long at the Hyūga household. He simply told Hyūga Hiashi not to reveal that he was Hinata's teacher and then left.
He headed to the Inuzuka clan. The clan head—Kiba's father—personally received him.
But to his surprise, the Inuzuka compound was unusually quiet. Not a single dog barked.
When he learned that Kiyosuke would be his son's teacher, the man was overjoyed and patted his chest.
"Kiyosuke-sama, don't treat that brat like a person—drill him hard! That boy's got thick skin, so don't hold back on my account. If you've got any complaints about him, just say the word. I'll personally break his dog legs!"
Akamaru: What did I do wrong?!
"..."
Kiyosuke blinked.
Was that really his biological child?
After drinking some tea, Kiyosuke left. The moment he did, the Inuzuka clan, which had been deathly quiet, suddenly became noisy again. The ninken all started barking as usual.
Kiba's father sucked in a sharp breath.
"As expected of Kiyosuke-sama... he's terrifying."
Clearly, the ninken had sensed Kiyosuke's terrifying presence and didn't dare make a sound. That was truly scary. If Kiba didn't learn properly, he'd break the brat's legs when he got home.
Next, Kiyosuke visited the Aburame clan.
Shino's father, Aburame Shibi, had once fought alongside Kiyosuke as a comrade in arms. It was a rare moment of reminiscence, and he sincerely entrusted his son to Kiyosuke's care.
...
After finishing his house visits, Kiyosuke ran into Sarutobi Hiruzen and Kakashi on the way home. The two of them were also out doing home visits.
"Perfect timing, Kiyosuke. Come with us. We just finished visiting Haruno Sakura's home. That leaves yours and the Uchiha family."
"Oh."
Everyone already knew about Naruto's situation, so they skipped him and went straight to the Uchiha clan.
It wasn't every day that Kiyosuke, Sarutobi Hiruzen, and Kakashi showed up together. Their arrival attracted a crowd of Uchiha clan members.
Upon learning what was going on, Uchiha Fugaku quickly returned to greet them.
When he found out that Kakashi would be his son's instructor, he spoke with utmost seriousness.
"If Kakashi-san is taking him, I feel reassured. Please take good care of my son!"
"If they pass my test, I will," Kakashi said calmly—he still needed to conduct his test first.
Fugaku was well aware of Kakashi's reputation—his pass rate was zero, scarily low. But he believed his son could pass.
Sarutobi Hiruzen stayed behind to chat a little longer with Fugaku. When the three of them finally left, Uchiha Fugaku was in high spirits.
It wasn't just because of his son's excellent performance in school—it was also due to the Hokage's trust in their clan.
As long as they didn't act recklessly, the Uchiha would always have a home in Konoha.
Also, Sarutobi Hiruzen had brought news of his eldest son. He was doing well undercover in the organization—fit, healthy, eating well, and thriving—which helped ease much of Fugaku's lingering concern.

The Next Day
When it came time for team assignments, Naruto and the others sat in the classroom, waiting to be called by their jōnin instructors.
Kiyosuke walked in rubbing his eyes.
Naruto excitedly called out.
"Kiyosuke-san! Are you gonna be our jōnin instructor?"
"Your instructor is someone else, not me."
He looked around.
"Team Eight. Hyūga Hinata, Inuzuka Kiba, Aburame Shino. You three, come with me."
"Eh?!"
A wave of envy swept through the classroom as everyone stared at the three names he'd called.
To be chosen as this man's student—it was something to be truly jealous of.
Hinata walked out shyly. Kiba was buzzing with excitement. Shino, as usual, was silent—his presence barely noticeable beneath his dark sunglasses and high-collared jacket.
Kiyosuke led them to the rooftop of the school.
"I'm Asakawa Kiyosuke," he said. "I'll be your jōnin instructor from now on."
He wasn't like Yūhi Shinku—he didn't have that stern aura. He couldn't intimidate these kids even if he tried.
Still, as a teacher, he had to at least act like an adult.
"I know you're all familiar with me. You've been to my house often. But as tradition goes, you still need to introduce yourselves. Talk about what you like, what you hate, your hobbies, dreams, that sort of thing."
Silence.
Hinata was too shy to speak. Kiba was still thinking. And Shino... just didn't talk.
"Kiba, you go first."
"Yes!"
"I'm Inuzuka Kiba! I like beef jerky and cartilage. I hate anything that's too soft and mushy. My hobby is taking walks with Akamaru. This is Akamaru."
"Woof!"
Akamaru barked from Kiba's collar.
Kiyosuke glanced at the little pup. It hadn't grown in years, and now suddenly, in two more years, they'd be able to ride it. Ninken really did grow in strange ways.
"Alright, your turn."
Shino pushed up his sunglasses.
"I'm Aburame Shino. I like vegetable salads and winter melon. I dislike anything with an overpowering flavor. My hobby is observing insects."
The bugs inside his body trembled.
Whenever he was near Kiyosuke, they always reacted like this.
Yes, Kiyosuke-sensei was clearly a formidable man.
"Alright, Hinata. You're up."
"I... I'm..." Hinata's voice was barely above a whisper, but still audible.
"I'm Hyūga Hinata. I don't really have anything I like... or dislike... My hobby... is flower pressing."
Not bad. She wasn't that shy. Still, her personality...
"Eh? Isn't your favorite thing Naruto?"
Psssh!
Like water reaching a boil, white steam shot out from Hinata's head. Her face turned blood red, and her Byakugan eyes spiraled in dizzy confusion.
"Hinata! Hinata?!"
She'd fainted from embarrassment. Clearly, she wasn't one for jokes.
Not long after, Hinata came to, her face still red.
Kiyosuke said, "Alright. Tomorrow morning at eight, meet at the Konoha Training Grounds. I'll be testing you. If you don't pass, you'll be sent back to the Academy to start over."
Shino asked, "Kiyosuke-sensei, isn't that against the rules?"
"A jōnin instructor has the authority to send a genin back to the Academy. You've seen it happen plenty of times, haven't you?"
Kiyosuke said casually, "Listen carefully. From now on, I'm your instructor. I am the rules. Be there tomorrow at eight. If you fail, you're going back to relearn everything."
"Alright. Dismissed."
He turned and left behind three dazed kids and one equally confused dog.
...
After dinner, Kiyosuke returned home—only to find Naruto and the others waiting.
"Ah, Kiyosuke-san, you're back! By the way, why is Kakashi-sensei my instructor? He looks so weak."
Kiyosuke had trained Naruto to always refer to Kakashi as "Kakashi-sensei." Otherwise, once Kakashi started teaching them, hearing "san" every other word would ruin the mood.
"He's alright. He and I are about evenly matched. He's not that weak."
"We heard that Kiyosuke-sama is the strongest in all of Konoha—stronger even than the Hokage," Sakura chimed in from the side.
"That's true. But he can go toe-to-toe with me. That's a fact."
Come on—Kakashi can go fifty-fifty with anyone!
(T/N: I know that we have no information about Kiba's father, and we have no information about who the head of the clan is, so it's not canonical event.)
