Chapter 9 - Chapter 9: The Truth Behind Uzushio’s Fall

Uzumaki Village and Konoha were allies, and when Uzumaki Village was attacked, Konoha did indeed dispatch experts to help.

The lineup of Uchiha Kagami, Shimura Danzo, and almost the entire Root organization was enough to fight a small war. If they wanted to destroy a small country, apart from anomalies like the Land of Rain, other countries would face no pressure.

The help Konoha provided to Uzumaki Village could not be said to be insignificant, even Uzumaki Mito couldn't say anything against it.

Furthermore, the very existence of Uzumaki Village and the Land of Uzumaki was disliked by other countries. The Uzumaki clan was both the village leader and the Daimyo. How would other countries' Daimyo view that?

Good heavens, you ninjas want to become Daimyo? What about us Daimyo then?

Do you really think you have the bloodline of the Sage of Six Paths?

Even without the sealing jutsu, the Land of Uzumaki would eventually be targeted by other countries. Not to mention anything else, the Daimyo of the Land of Fire might not have been fond of Uzumaki Village.

It can be said that the destruction of Uzumaki Village was set in motion the moment it was established.

Konoha also didn't expect that by the time they arrived at Uzumaki Village, it had already collapsed, and the strength of those ninjas from unknown sources was beyond imagination. Even Uchiha Kagami and most of the Root organization perished there. Being able to bring Uzumaki Kushina back was already extremely rare and commendable.

It could also be considered fulfilling their duty as allies.

Uzumaki Mito didn't know if she intended for Uzumaki Kushina to become a Jinchuriki. If she became a Jinchuriki, she would receive the best protection from Konoha, not needing to go out on missions like other ninjas. This would also be a form of protection for Uzumaki Kushina, and in the future, it would allow the Uzumaki clan to leave a legacy in Konoha.

However, Sarutobi Hiruzen was worried that Uzumaki Kushina might grow to an uncontrollable extent in the future, so he had no intention of making Uzumaki Kushina a Jinchuriki.

After finishing their meal, Uchiha Mikoto packed up the lunchbox and left. However, after this meal, Uchiha Mikoto and Uzumaki Kushina had already become good friends.

Human encounters don't require a long time to get along. Sometimes, when people click, they become friends.

For Uzumaki Kushina, Uchiha Mikoto was clearly a good friend.

The afternoon classes ended quickly. Neither Uchiha Yi nor Uchiha Mikoto stayed at school to train. Unlike ordinary civilian ninjas, family ninjas like them mostly chose to return to their clans for training.

The training environment there was much better than at school.

Some clan ninjas would even provide guidance to them, which was one of the reasons why clan ninjas were often stronger than civilian ninjas.

"Yi-kun, Mikoto, we'll see each other tomorrow." The three arrived at the school gate, and Uzumaki Kushina bid them farewell.

Uzumaki Kushina lived in the Senju clan's ancestral home, which was poles apart from the Uchiha compound. If she could, Uzumaki Kushina really wanted to walk a bit longer on her way home.

"See you tomorrow, Uzumaki-san."

"See you tomorrow, Kushina! I'll bring you lunch!"

"You're too kind, Mikoto!"

"It's fine, it's just cooking a bit more, it won't increase my workload." Uchiha Mikoto smiled, narrowing her eyes. After Uzumaki Kushina left, she spoke to Uchiha Yi in a faint tone: "Kushina-chan is very cute, don't you think, Yi-kun!"

The last two words, "Yi-kun," made Uchiha Yi shiver involuntarily.

However, he still changed the subject: "Didn't you two get along very well before?"

He recounted what happened in class: "I didn't expect that she would pay so much attention to me because of that."

Uchiha Mikoto frowned: "Are you sure she approached you because you helped her, Kushina?"

"That's highly probable. It's not like she fell in love with me at first sight, right?" Uchiha Yi fell silent after saying this.

He thought of a possibility: his father had just died on a mission, and Uzumaki Kushina had been brought to Konoha these past few days. The news of Uzumaki Village's destruction was no longer a secret.

These days, some villagers were even clamoring to find those who destroyed Uzumaki Village and avenge the Uzumaki clan.

However, the higher-ups seemed unwilling to start a war because of this. The destruction of Uzumaki Village was probably participated in by all major villages except Konoha. Once Konoha took action, the Second Great Ninja War would break out.

No one wanted such a thing to happen.

Is it because of Uchiha Kagami?

Using his life to bring him a daughter-in-law?

By the way, if he won over both Uchiha Mikoto and Uzumaki Kushina, what would happen to the future Naruto and Sasuke?

Would they be his children, or other Uchiha, Uzumaki, or even Senju bloodlines?

Ahem, here Uchiha Yi had to say something for Sarutobi Hiruzen. Many people said he was an old schemer, and that he and Shimura Danzo conspired to kill off the Senju clan.

But in reality, the Senju clan was disbanded by Senju Tobirama. Most of the Senju clan integrated into Konoha's civilian population, and some of them went to the Daimyo's residence.

Hashirama Senju's son married the Daimyo's daughter and gave birth to Tsunade and Nawaki. Currently, he led that part of the Senju clan residing at the Daimyo's residence.

This could be considered diversified investment. One should not underestimate Senju Tobirama's political wisdom.

Unlike the Uchiha, who focused solely on the Police Force and didn't even realize they were being sold out. If the Uchiha had made preparations outside, they wouldn't have been annihilated.

Unfortunately, the path to the Daimyo's residence, for example, was temporarily impassable for the Uchiha, at least for now.

"Alright, let's go back. Grandpa still needs to teach you how to use the Sharingan today." Seeing that Uchiha Yi seemed to have realized something, Uchiha Mikoto smiled sweetly, a hint of envy flashing in her eyes.

Previously, Uchiha Yi's strength was not much different from hers, but ever since Yi awakened his Sharingan, she was no longer a match for Uchiha Yi.

As a talented kunoichi of the Uchiha clan, Uchiha Mikoto found it hard to accept such a thing, especially not wanting to be left too far behind by Uchiha Yi.

.........

On the other side, Uzumaki Kushina skipped lightly into Uzumaki Mito's room: "Grandma Mito, I'm back!"

"Oh, Kushina! How are you getting along with your classmates?" Uzumaki Mito beckoned Uzumaki Kushina to sit beside her, asking with a benevolent expression.

It seemed that the destruction of the Uzumaki clan had not caused this elderly woman too much sadness or grief.
