Chapter 1 - CHAPTER 1:The Boy Who Carried Misfortune

The Boy Who Carried Misfortune

There was once a boy cursed with misfortune, as if bad luck clung to him like a shadow.

No matter where he went, something would always go wrong. If it rained, he'd forget his umbrella. If there was a quiz, he'd somehow miss the announcement. If there was a peaceful moment... it wouldn't last.

His name was Hiro — a 16-year-old student with no special powers to speak of. In fact, he was known as the weakest in his entire school.

While others wielded magic, mastered swordsmanship, or could summon beasts, Hiro could barely keep up. He wasn't born a hero, nor destined for greatness.

What made things worse was the nagging question he carried deep inside: Why was he even born on this earth?

He didn't know his parents — never met his father or mother — and the emptiness of not knowing his origins weighed heavily on him.

But more than anything...

"What am I really capable of?"

That question echoed in his mind every night.

Even if the world called him weak… even if his classmates mocked him… deep down, Hiro believed there had to be something hidden within him. Something he hadn't unlocked yet.

A spark. A clue. A reason.

He just didn't know what it was — not yet.

Still, he wasn't alone.

"Hiro, you spacing out again?"

A voice snapped him out of his thoughts.

Standing beside him was Satou Yuga, casually spinning a small flame between his fingers — a power he had copied earlier from another student.

Yuga had the unique ability to copy anyone's ability just by touching them. It didn't last forever, but long enough to give him the upper hand in any fight.

"Don't tell me you're thinking about your 'hidden power' again," Yuga smirked.

From the other side, a textbook floated in mid-air and gently smacked Yuga on the head.

"You shouldn't tease him too much," said Akira Yama, arms crossed as she calmly retracted her power. She was a natural telekinetic, able to move objects — and occasionally people — with her mind.

Despite their differences, the three of them had been friends since day one. And even though Hiro had no powers of his own...

...these two never treated him like he was less.

Well… most of the time.

Yuga would often drag him into sparring matches, saying, "One day you'll awaken your true self. You just need to take some hits first!"

Akira, while quieter, always looked out for Hiro — patching him up after training or levitating his books when he was too tired to walk.

They weren't just friends.

They were like family. The only family Hiro ever knew.

And maybe... just maybe... that was enough to keep him going.

Because deep in his heart, Hiro carried one dream — a dream stronger than any spell or blade:

To one day become the strongest.

And this…

…was the beginning of the story of a misfortunate boy who dared to rise above fate.
