Chapter 11 - The Resting of the First Maker and the Awaited Awakening

45. For it is said:

"The First Maker resteth there, crowned with coral,

His black-scaled skin vast as the sea,

His eyes like shifting depths,

His tattered fins stilled upon the mountain's bones."

46. When storms rage and waves rise,

the people say, "LUMAD stirs in His sleep."

47. When skies grow calm and the moon walks bright,

they whisper, "LUMAD dreameth still."

48. Thus the days are reckoned, and moons counted,

and the stars named,

but the end is not yet writ.

49. For the Wheel turneth, and the lots fall again,

and beyond the sight of gods and men,

the mists keep their counsel.

50. And so it was, and so it is, and so shall it be,

until the First and the Last awakens,

and the world is made anew.
